Care to post a lifetime graph? i would really appreciate. 3 month from $50 usd to $1000? care to post thoughts about fishiness?? Good players in micro limits? How great is the variance? THX

1) Unfortunately, as mentioned before, I don't have lifetime graph because I have installed and uninstalled few other stats tracking programs before installing HEM, and somehow lost the hand history :/ Only have a graph of last ~9K hands... (tournament winnings are not included)

2) Got from $50 to $200 playing NL BSS (1.5 months), then switched to PLO and went from $200 to $1200 in another 1.5 months.

3) I wouldn't say it's exceptional fishy; quite fishy, but not exceptional Mostly regular players in the early hours, fish flock in the evenings, but this also applies to other formats of poker.

4) I play on PLO25 limit and have met some very good players, who beat the crap out of me; I avoid them since I would say few good players, some OK players, a lot of passive players and occasionally some guys who don't know the rules of Omaha

5) Variance is huge, although it doesn't seem so looking at my graph. But, as I said, only ~9K hands - sample too small. Personally for me best day was when I won 10BI, worst day when I lost 4BI, so yeah, swings happen. Variance is greater because here's how it usually goes: one player has the nuts, another has a great drawing hand with quite some outs; both go all-in and the luckier player wins ♠_biggrin:

Moved to PLO50 to clear the bonus (98% completed!) Another small downswing struck in the middle of the session so I thought I'm the biggest fish that ever existed in these PLO waters But things change.

Hi carebax, I don't want to share my nick with community for various reasons, hope it's ok with you I prefer people thinking that I'm just a random player not knowing how to play it

Yesterday I have finally returned from my prolonged holidays, only to find I'm offered $25x5 opt-in bonus ("we noticed you haven't been playing for a while, please come back, we love you, PP"), nice. So I instantly began playing, and BAM! -4BI at the end of the day - about -$200 If this continues, I'm out of poker in no time I have to admit I played bad, result of a long break from poker. Moving back to PLO25.

This new Partypoker promotion is not so good as I thought it would be when I first saw it. Read a thread about it and most people didn't win anything out of it. I managed to get 3 cards only - no prize each time.

Ran into two players who play 90-99% of their hands, raising each time there's no raise before them. And they were doing pretty good. I love being aggresive, but when this kind of guy shows up, I just have to leave the table, not knowing how to counter them

I'm settling for SH tables for good now, FR seems so boring after the shorthanded battles.

After warm-up on cash tables, entered $6 MTT PLO Hi, along with other 30 players. The game went quick, it was heads-up before the first break, me having 1/4th of the chips. We battled for quite awhile, until, being equal in chips, this occured: I complete, he raises, I call. Flop brings TJJ, giving me an open ender. He donks 2/3 pot c-bet, I reraise him all in. After some thinking he calls with A high I fail to hit and he takes it away with that A high ♦ $34.10 for 2nd place.

Cleared another $25, $75 more to go. I must hurry though, because got another offer for $100 opt in bonus, but it's only valid for 6 more days...

It was a great session until this horrible slump, decided to take a break
Apparently break didn't help and this turned out to be an ugly day for poker

Fun stuff: a guy from Australia joined a table and instantly started commenting every move the players made, mocking players etc. and playing ~90% of his hand - typical cocky fish He ended up being down 3 BI. We all had a good laugh

The usual 1 hour warm-up and entered $6 PLO Hi MTT. Made it to the final table, but was busted soon. Some jerk raised, I put him all in with Aces, he called with KQJx rainbow, flop brought the ace, but he of course made his straight and I'm out. What a brilliant play by the villain

I'm afraid I won't be able to opt-in for the new bonus, because with 5 days remaining I still have to clear $25x3 before opting-in.

Watched bahmrockk's newest PLO video yesterday evening, it was loads of fun, especially when he impersonated a fish Recommend it for everyone!

Some cool stuff happened and I'm waaaay below zero. It all began with a fish putting his full stack preflop with 99TT vs my aces (lol). I hit an ace, but he hits a straight Then another fish all in full stack - my aces vs KQT4 (lol). He spikes two pair. Later I raise with aces, fish calls, flop brings 235. I contibet, he reraises all in, I call. He shows x577 (rofl). Turn 7 river 7

Woosh, 6BI below All-in EV (i know all-in EV doesn't mean anything, I just want to convince myself that I played OK ). Trully an amazing day. Even the aussie from yesterday showed up, he lost 5 or 6 more buyins, but managed to 4-outer my a$$ Oh, and this finnish guy with 75/1 stats came by, and after I lost 3 BI to him and asked how the hell does he make those calls, he admitted it's his first try in PLO and he's enjoying it All in all, it's amazing, and I only have one question to Miss Luck, quite rhetorical, yet simple: WHAT THE SHIT?

Sometimes they (bad beats) happen more often than usual and it really does feel like a site is "rigged" against oneself. Its at points like this where despite our best knowledge of the material (it makes no sense for the site to be rigged) that it is hard for our emotions to believe our cognition. Like any other poker player I have had sessions in which I just held my head after the end of it, thinking "they can't be serious with this shit or?". You get it all-in with a set 5 times, and lose versus flushdraws or gutshots, or who knows what each time. Your own draws never hit and nothing seems to work.

Its situations like these where you really just need to stay strong and keep your emotions in check. We have a couple of articles on the topic in the psychology section and often taking a break really helps.

The only thing you can do in such situations is continue looking at your own game. Optimize what you can to get an even bigger edge and to avoid bad play and tilt after beats.

And my thoughs about whiners bursting in tears about sites being rigged: get a life Could one elaborate about what gains would a rigged site gain from being rigged? Does the guy who hits one outer against you work for the platform and returns the won money to it? I think one should clearly understand the fact that OTHERS hitting those outs is clear proof that YOU are the better player - you don't gamble with those small odds; you're getting the best out of your hands. Only the fish gamble and from time to time hit. Sometimes it happens more frequently than usual - that's what happened for me today. I'm just glad I don't go on tilt or create pathetic threads about it, and wish you the same! Take care

Profitable warmup and I'm in the usual $6 buyin tournament. This time more people flock in, meaning more money for me NOT. Was kicked out just before the final table, when villain decided that going broke with TT34 preflop is profitable. He was right

If I have more time, I'll try to play at least 100 more hands before leaving for the weekend. Wonder if I can clear the rest of the bonus till tuesday to be eligible for new opt-in bonus.

Bleh, same story as yesterday, villains hitting gutshots twice in a row, then fish hitting ONE OUTER and the day is screwed again. I sure need to take a break, which I will be doing right now. See ya!

Returned earlier today and had a unique chance to play on Sunday. It went OK until the winnings once again started to go down. I just can't figure it out - why my graph always looks like this ---> ^ I don't get tired, don't loosen up... Maybe just coincidence.

Cleared another $25, so only 1/5th left to clear, meaning I will be eligible for a new fixed $100 opt-in bonus (offer expires on Tuesday), freakin' sweet

Break-even warmup and $6 Plo Hi MTT. Ended up in 3rd place for $24.75 (was chip leader when 5 players left ).

Amazing! Types of players I have to deal with:

- heads up on flop, I hold OESD and nut flush draw. I bet 2/3 pot, villain calls. Turn pairs the board. I bet small, he calls. River gives me flush. I bet less then half pot, villain JUST CALLS and shows quads ;
- I raise preflop with 7789, huge fish calls. Flop 67x. I bet pot, villain calls. Turn ace. I bet pot, villain calls with the rest of his stack. River 4. Villain shows 3566, hitting his straight
- against same villain later, I raise with aces, he calls. Good flop, I c-bet, he calls. Turn 4. I bet small, he calls. River blank, I for some unknown reason check, he checks and shows pocket fours.
- etc etc.

Most painful was one hand where in a huge huge pot I had double (!) nut flush draw with aces and didn't hit it. When oh when is this going to end? Hopefully before I lose my whole bankroll

Cleared my bonus and opted-in for $100 fixed (must collect 1K PP in 1 month).

Took a break and returned to the tables later. First hand - I hold AQxx, see the flop against one villain. Flop AQx - two pair + nutflush draw. I bet, he calls. Turn blank. I bet, he calls. River 9. I bet, he calls and shows KJ99. How? How on earth do you make decisions like these, oh fish?
I know, those stupid bad beat stories are so boring and I even promised to not post them, but I feel I have to let the steam go off. Returning to tables now - stop loss = -$200.

Managed to win $82.84 back, but still ended up in minus. Total loss: -$34.61

Major swings on warm-up, but luckily enough, our good old friend Australian joined the table And I'm back in profit thanks to him.

I wonder if I somehow can copy/paste hands from HEM to hand evaluation forum without placing all those symbols manually etc...? Just want to make sure I'm making the right place when facing huge downswing (happened yesterday).

Use Flop Turn River hand converter cause it "It now supports Pot-Limit Omaha and Pot-Limit Omaha Hi/Lo for both PokerStars and Full Tilt!"

Have u tried HEM HH directly? Maybe it works. I'm sure there is one software in the net that achives what u want :f_biggrin:. Doing it manually is too troublesome and will lead to less post hands

Today's Update

Very swingy (big surprize, eh), but nothing like yesterday, only several bad beats, enabling me to enjoy the graph line cruising in the waters of positive income

Cash: $103.94
Tournament: -$6
Bonus: 24.70% complete

Total: $97.94

Several more bad beats, where I was ~80% favourite, but it's normal. Best one was this: I raise with double suited kings, cowboy bluffer calls. Board gives me flush draw, no scare cards. I c-bet, cowboy bluffs all-in. I call and he shows pocket 3s, making me 81% favourite. Turn 3, river 3
Omaha is good for two things:
- overcoming tilt - crap happens so often it doesn't even bother you (unless it happens 20+ per session);
- making money

Warm-up:

Was destroying two tables, felt soooo good. But opponents don't like it and just leave Time for some MTT. Why do I play them? To get some rest Instead of 4 cash tables, I just play one MTT, relax and review my warm-up hands, because most of my bad plays occur at the start of the session.

BAM, it happens again

When bad beats come one after another, you just have to take a break, right? After my last 100 hands I was just staring at the monitor, thinking "Seriously?". Flushdraws, gutshots, the impossibles - everything hit. That is so cruel

The thing that I wonder and wonder again is again is how? just how on earth can you make those plays? And even more important question - why do I run into those bad beats, shouldn't I just constantly profit from the fish, as stated in poker books?

I no longer think you can make a living out of PLO. One day you win $100, one day you lose the same amount (or worse).
Oh, and if someone show me that kind of graph and complained about bad beats, I wouldn't believe him. It looks af it was bad plays, I man downswing can't be that bad right? Just because of bad beats? Well, it can.

I have contacted Fox TV and they have agreed to produce a movie "Beyond Ridiculous: Jackalof's bad beats' story", me starring as a crooked dealer. Jackalof will be played by Nicolas Cage, Queen of Hearts - Angelina Jolie, Jack of Spades - Sylvester Stallone. Currently negotiations are being run to lure some pros to increase the quality of the movie - pros such as Ihufa, Yoghii and SoyCD.
The highlight of the movie. Final table. Heads up - Jackalof (Nicolas Cage) vs Villain (a guy who always gets punched to death in the final scenes of Jean Claude Van Damme movies). Jackalof gets dealt 2 :diamond:7 :diamond:, while Villain gets Q :heart:J :diamond:. Jackalof completes, Villain minraises, Jack calls. Flop brings 3 :heart:9 :spade:2 :club:. Jackalof makes a perfect read by seeing Angeline Jolie and Sylvester Stallone in the Villain's hand and goes all in on the flop. Villain calls. Turn - J :club:. Then Danny Elfman's music kicks in, and 2 falls on the river. "I have you rivered" - Jackalof exclaims and decapitates the Villain. Later he marries Burt Reynolds and the final scene is as follows: two lovers enjoying their honeymoon and one of them sees a card deck on the table. Danny Elfman kicks in again and the "TO BE CONTINUED" sign appears. 80% Oscar equity, baby!

In another words, only 2 (two) bad beats today (in both was 95% favourite on turn Villains hitting their two-outers), was hitting my draws like crazy etc. etc. Nothing like yesterday. Today's winnings don't compensate for yesterday's losses thou, but despite that I won't be playing anymore today, to avoid that strange parabolic downswing which is haunting me lately. Maybe I'm losing value by doing so, but what a hell, eh?
