Hi my name is Andrew. I like to give myself nicknames. Formerly known as MILFHunter, then just MILF, now known as ✮NƎ⅁ᗡ✮ after I announced I was going pro. That's what it will be for the time being. It has to do with Deck of Degeneracy artwork I fell in love with recently.
You'll see me sharking the $2 to $30 buy in Holdem and PLO5 tournaments as well as NL4,10 & 20 FLASH Holdem, NL10 & 20 regular holdem tables or PLO5 cash games.
I wanted to make an accountability blog so I could keep a record of my poker related goals and dreams, successes and challenges and anything else in between.
It's really good to study away from the tables and find out where I have leaks so I can plug them as well as meet new people. Feel free to chat me up, add me as a friend. I'm down for all that I'm not anti-social.
My goal for this month is to once and for all get off social services. I've been on their system for over 4 years because of a mental disability. I would need to make about $600 CAD per month which is like $20 per day playing poker. That's doable for me even at NL10 just to get started. I'm surpassing that right now by a lot. Just in the last 2 days I've made over $300. I need to start somewhere.
I've made over $4000 in the last 30 days playing poker. That's $4000 more than I made in the last 6 years playing poker because I quit a while back. I didn't think I had what it takes to stay off tilt. I never lost much but when I did I didn't like the feeling because of how I lost it.
I get angry. I give up. I blow all my money. But not anymore.
I've studied the game of poker for over 18 years even when I wasn't playing. I always had a knack for studying the game more than playing. Because I was so bad at the game.
I didn't realize how good I was and how the mental aspect of poker is just as important as learning what your odds are for winning a hand and what opponent types you can exploit and how.
This new GTO theory is fucking me up but I'm slowly learning it from my poker coach, Jonathan Little and his group of professional poker coaches.
They helped me shore up my tilt leak and since then have won loads and not just tilted it all off the very next day.
I've actually had 3 or 4 winning months in a row now. And since proving to myself that I will not tilt, I decided to go pro. Giving up whatever future was ahead of me and focusing on poker. The game that broke me financially when I was very young..and the game that saved me financially when I was broke.
Story goes..I had just tilted off my last $300. I had $20 left from rakeback the morning after. I wanted to play in a poker tournament but it cost $30. I went to the NL 100 FLASH game to make the extra 10 and on my second hand got dealt AKs, made a pair and doubled my money and got into the tournament. It was a 12K Warrior tournament. 2.3k for first place. I joined a few minutes late but I ended up winning the tournament.
I couldn't believe my luck. I said to myself this can't be real. There's no way this just happened.
I was high for days. But the losing continued. I paid off all of my bills all of my debt and all of the money that I had deposited to play poker I had returned to myself. I also gave some to my family. I also bought myself some stuff. But on my birthday I lost over I think 1.4k playing like an idiot. I was once again left with a chip and a chair. I actually ended up having to deposit again as sick as that is a week after winning the most money I've ever won in my life. Trust me that was not a good feeling. I had $20 left. So I ended up buying into a $10 Hyper Turbo. I ended up winning that. $650 US for first. I had been given new life.
Blessed by the grace of God I ran good and played good and had a significant bankroll again.
Again it started to slip. This time losing 100...200...my poker account was down to $300 again. I was pissed. I decide to take a shot at NL100. If I win, I really get serious about this mental game shit and start practicing proper BRM. If I lose I just turned into a recreational player who plays once in awhile and withdraws his winnings if there ever are any.
That same night I ended up finishing the night with over $800 in my account. The NL100 shot was a success. I made $200 on those tables in about an hour. I then took $20 into a big bounty tournament and ended up 4th place I think? I can't remember but there was another $200 there for the effort. And then some other cash games.
About a week after that I ended up finishing second in a $15 hyper turbo. So now my account's at over $1200 again. And now I'm just rolling.
Today my account is nearly at $1,600 and I have been practicing proper bankroll management, winning my cash games and cashing in my tournaments big money. I've never felt so confident about my game my entire life and the fact that I can just take a bad beat and be upset about it but not let it affect my bankroll.
On KK poker you can actually see your graph for the day, last 7 days and the last 30 days for any game mode you play. In the last 30 days I am up over $4,000 CAD. (I live in Canada.) And I'm so close to being able to be fully self-supporting financially I can taste it and I'm not going to let it slip out of my grasp this time for anything or anyone.
I'll continue to study as much as I can and my next goal is to after I get off social services, buy a car. After I buy a car my next goal is to get out of the house that I'm living in and live on my own because currently I have roommates and I hate it.
I'll continue to blog here as I feel like it's better for me to have someone to be accountable to and I hope you will all reply to my blog and I will reply to yours if you have one as well. Much appreciated.
I also run a YouTube channel for even more accountability which I post hand histories and review hands, play live tournaments and review tournaments I've played. You all can check that out it's Black Dragon Studios.
All in all this still just feels so surreal. To go from a broke boy degenerate gambler who never even really gambled because he was always so broke to feeling like a rich man each and every day when I wake up and consistently winning anywhere I go. I feel like this is all just a dream and I'm either gonna die randomly of a massive heart attack or wake up and realize none of this actually happened one day. I haven't been out in weeks I've just been studying and cashing out. I plan to continue with this but I would like to get out some...I literally never go out.
The reason I play at KK Poker over GG Poker or Pokerstars is because this is where I've had the most success. Great game selection. Fast and painless payouts. Payouts are free, up to 3x per week via etransfer so it's no more than 2-3 days at most. Lots of fish. Low to mistakes cash games and tournaments, soft games running 24/7, highly interactive..being able to throw poo at someone's face who just called 200bb and sucked out a 2 outer on the river is uniquely satisfying, the VIP HUD system is great and easy to use and of course, the 50% rakeback with no drawbacks paid out within 24hrs is amazing. You can't really beat that imo.
