Bad luck or playing bad?

For the past 4k hand my profit has gone down quite a bit, and I am not sure whether it's because I was previously lucky and I am just playing badly, or whether I've just recently been really unlucky (went from about $45 to $12). I will be showing my 4 biggest losses during this downswing, and it would be much appreciated if someone could tell me whether it's because I'm unlucky or not playing well.

Try to post 1 hand per thread. That makes it easier to discuss about it.

First hand is a cooler I think against a unknown on NL2. I wouldn't be surprised if villian will play weaker trips the same way as well.

2nd hand I would 5bet shove and the rest is standard as played.

3th hand is villain depended, but with 1 pair I would consider folding the turn, but if you call you need to fold the river for sure. Most players doesn't change top pair in to a bluff I think on NL2.

4th hand I would most likely fold to the check/raise. Especially multi way it's less likely villian will bluff like this and decent chance you are facing a set.

Cheers,

1) looks like he had AA, AK - so sometimes it happend you have top pair but the secon kicker.
2) again - sometime it happend you loose vs "worst" pair - you can go AI preflop, same like you did postflop - he could still call you with KK
3) I would fold on the river
4) same like before

1) Fold pre, postflop is fine
2) Pretty standard hand
3) As played call turn is okay but i would fold river
4) Fold on the flop on such draw heavy. V's squeeze show a lot of strenght.

So... You seem like undisciplined spewy fish who falls inlove with his hands way too much and dont know where fold button is.

$45 to $12

This is a lot for nl2.16,5 stacks. This is more than being unlucky. You are doing it wrong. My advice is to start learn more about the game and raise your discipline. Dont be lazy. Good luck

Hands one and two are fine, the other two are bad plays. Imo in those last two hands you are responding to the aggression appropriately. Work on basic hand reading and remember at the micros players are generally too passive so when they raise its usually because they have nut type hands.

If you don't already know, perhaps do some study on the different player types and how to respond to each one. For example if these are all villains who standard passive regs at these stakes both those last two hands are easy fold, but if they are bad aggro players we have more justification to continue

So in summary
1. Categorizing the players at the table by player type
2. Hand reading
3. Over valuing your hand

PS I wouldn't say 4k hands is anyway near enough to say you are running bad. 4K hands is roughly 10 hours of 4-tabling that's like a couple of day's grind! So I would say this is more due to leaks in your game
