This is a spot where I can't put him on a clear range (his range is so wide he could have literally anything imo)
But let's assume something like this: 22+,A2s+,K8s+,Q8s+,J8s+,T8s+,98s,87s,76s,A2o+,KTo+,QTo+,JTo
Preflop I'm in position with a decent hand. A 3-bet is a valid option but a call IP favors my decision.
Extra question: IF a player from the blinds would 3-bet then I fold, agreed? (Unless its a min raise 3-bet, then I call and 4-bet preflop is not an option in NL2)
Flop comes OESD + 2 overcards and an insignificant backdoor flush draw. A roughly 30% pot sized C-bet is pretty standard play here, I don't want him to fold low pairs. I won't mind a fold or a call. A raise would make things interesting but that would still be a call for my hand is too strong to fold but in that case I would proceed with caution. But he chooses to call which I like. Building the pot for when a good turn card comes or trying to semi-bluff in case a blank comes is on my mind. Checking behind also good I feel so confident in this hand.
Turn comes with a blank and seemingly out of nowhere he fires half pot sized bet. Was he slow playing the flop? Did the 2♥: make him a sett? Or is he just making a move trying to take away the play? In that last case he is really good player but it's not unlikely. Suddenly I'm no longer in a comfort seat anymore and the chance of hitting my straight just got drastically reduced. I think only the implied odds justify a call here but that's pretty much all I have left in this hand all of a sudden.
OTR another blank 6♦: so that means I only have a bluff-catcher and he leads with another half pot sized bet so that's a easy fold I'm sure.
What could I do better? Was I exploitable in any way? Do I have leaks in my game or thinking process? Any other thoughts or comments?
