kinda ugly preflop imo
on one side definitely would want to raise, on the other side when it's a maniac table and getting a lot of overcalls and 3bets, it is awkward too.
for that 3bet price cant fold of course, but think a real 3bet should be around 9, and then it's a fold of course?
you would also open limp a bunch of hands?
I'm still for raise or fold, just curious.
Maniac part was more on postflop side this time. Indeed 3bet size was really small as well. Not sure if I even registered that in game as it was kind of late...
But yeah versus pot size it would have been closer. Still perhaps call considering stuff this SB fellow was doing and being 300bb deep with him.
I think there is merit in some open limping in maniac tables but I mainly combat issue by tightening open raise range somewhat. I will include some SB open limps with maniac on left and also some BU limps. But I think earlier position limps are sort of awkward.
Two hands from yesterday that were kind of setups but I think there are few points to think in them.
This was lucky one for me:

Preflop call is solver wise bit too loose and should be folded but BB on other hand was quite high vpip recreational. MP was unknown so overall I think call is reasonable. Versus MP as default I wont be 3betting that much KK without A blocker or ds anyway.
For postflop hand is clear x-c on flop and I also like villain half pot sizing. Especially with QQ smallish bet or also check would be good. Because SB range revolve lot around broadway combos. So QQ will block huge amount of range I can continue on Q73r flop but if cbet is small enough we might continue with some KJT9+bdfd type. Also maybe we could as SB lead some of those backdoor stuff but tricky part is our lack of strong made hands outside of QQ and some AQT7 type of stuff.
Turn pairs boards and villain barrel bit over half pot this time. At this point my hand starts to be bit more on gray area from exploitative view. If villain is on aggro side and understand that solid SB call range will have hard time to show up with boats outside of QQ he can get very aggro especially with Q blocker without strong kicker. Also hand like 6655 is pretty much nice equity driven bluff with gutshot and likely alive boat outs. But MP range has very little 654 in general so straight draws are super rare but also some of those rare combos like AK65 would make fine second barrel. But yeah as default I am not folding turn yet.
River is K which is very good card for SB range so I think we could argue of leading our hand. If we do lead we pretty much say we have very strong hand or bluff so pot size likely make most sense. Anyway as K is such a good card for SB I think MP doesnt really want to pot necessarily. If I check this river in MPvsBB spot on Q433K board there is some leading from BB:
Spoiler

If on other hand river is like T there wont be any leading. Now if I check K turn versus T turn from MP view:
Spoiler

So there is huge difference in strategy as the nut boat changes and BB can also show up with good amount of KK. Good side versus BB though is that his range can have way more hands like Q3, 73, 77 than in SB range. Also 456 wraps. So when we see this sort of difference we could ask how QQ in general should approach river in MP shoes when it brings K:
Spoiler

QQ without K or 3:
Spoiler

So around 40% of QQ that has no 3 or K should actually check back in solver world. BB will have KK on river around 17% of time and from those 1/3 of time he would lead river. If BB has no leads in river MP should check even more of his QQ. Now if we take into consideration preflop range difference between SB and BB there is even more KK in SB range overall. So I could easily see that MP should perhaps check clearly over 50% of QQ without K blocker. If we assume that to happen we would then be very interested in leading river with KK and some bluffs.
In practice though I think QQ is almost never checking river so x-r will likely get max value when we have it. Also interesting question is if MP call versus my minraise x-r shove is good? If I were in villain shoes probably I would end up calling river raise but not really expecting to see bluff ever but hoping SB overvalue weaker boat. In solver side there will still be some bluffs but in real life even versus very capable opponent I could see there being no bluffs at all.
All this make me ask if villain line to pot river is that good. Also if plan is to bet-call it probably better to bet small as that leave space for x-r bluff. Those are anyway super rare. Some Q7 would probably be main candidate. Of course lot of people call way too much from SB so ability to have 3 or 77 is quite bit higher from average player in pool. Personally I could call like 7786ds or A776ds/(maybe)ss. 73 connectivity with rundowns is limited to absolutely perfect one like 7654ds.
This one was less fortunate from my side:

Question is if raising turn make any sense in BB shoes? If I used smaller bet it would as I would represent wider value range like flushes. When I go for big sizing I pretty much say I have AA, A9. Maybe 55 or nut flush though I would likely either check or bet like 1/3 with those. So when BB has 99 it make my range pretty much AA or bluff. AA will triple barrel any river anyway so turn x-r will just stop potential bluffs. There is still perhaps case for turn x-r versus some player type. Some might be betting big on turn with flush or 55 and perhaps look to check river. But if they face turn x-r they might not like folding.
Played short session only today. These are good examples why one probably dont want to have that much light 4bet range in plo25 without good reads:
CO decides to 3bet-call preflop. SPR 1 I shove.

BB 3bet-call preflop. SPR 2 also just pot calling with some blocker value and bdfd. Well in here 3bet is fine and maybe ok to call to 4bet as well. Also because its bit cheaper in BvB and theory wise SB 4bet range can be fairly wide though again as default I dont do much those.

EP open, BU call, BB squeeze and call my 4bet. I think squeeze is probably gto wise fine but should obviously not be call to 4bet. SPR is only 0.6 on flop.

PS: Sort of funny that in each hand these guys manage to flop so good for their hands.
Two hands with theme of "how to play non nut sets". My preflop call is probably fine in this one even with trip suit. At least versus minraise open. Flop I decided to lead as its pretty great to get raised and be able to end the hand on flop already. Other option would be x-r.
Anyway BU decided to raise dry mid set and it creates some problems. If he faces 3bet he will be in spot facing lot of QQ or strong draws. Best case is basically Qx top pair with nut fd. Of course some players could play bet-3bet with dry bottom set or even just two pairs but also one issue with 77 is blocking Q7. So in villain shoes I would likely just call flop.

Then I had this limped pot from SB. If I had bottom set without strong support I would have just x-c flop. But with nfd even if I do run into better set I will have around 36% equity. Plus if villain has like KT or combo draw around KT I can be really crushing as well.

Only for new subs maybe?
Here is link: https://plomastermind.com/register/plo-trainer-web-app-and-plo-mm-bundle-monthly/?coupon=HALFOFF
Apparently you can use half price for any bundle by adding "?coupon=HALFOFF" at the end.
Not sure if its usable if one has active subscription already active. You could contact ADelanye in discord to ask if there is some issue.
Yes, that did work!
Even though not with paypal....
Thank you Ghaleon!
Really appreciate it and your blog updates w funny/crazy hh.
Did you receive this email even though u have an subscription?
I did get lot of spams w Blackfriday offers but not this one.:f_confused:
I had a sub for plotrainer ending tomorrow maybe thats why idk.
Thx anyway.
maybe it was a bit of spontaneous action as they even said on the recent streams for the black friday promos that they only offer that for yearly subs but then decided otherwise because of so many requests. did make it also through the support, really great guys
and thx @ghaleon

So hand villain decided to pot-stack off turn is pretty funny one. His sizing though does make sense as he should approach spot from polarized view. Polarized though means that top two pair should basically always check (This is from HU pot COvsBB on A♠:9♠:6♦:5♠::
Spoiler

What I find interesting in this range is top and middle sets and some weaker two pairs mainly. Well weaker two pairs are pure bluffs that has bit of potential with boat outs if getting called. But sets are interesting merged pot bets. Especially when main straight draw already completed. I have seen these sets beting on board where there are lot of straight draws available but this is quite bit different. Well there are of course some hands that have gs or two but still seems lot less valuable compared if turn was like 2♠:. Anyway sets that do pot come mainly with flush blocker and in this case they are mainly AA. Reasoning for this does come from BB range though that is supposed to call most sets gto wise.
From my side on BB flop is pretty clear x-c imo. Turn I was thinking of leading in game thinking this could be good combo as we unblock all board pairs and we have two high spade in our hand. That means villain is more likely to have two pair or set (which mainly tend to check turn) and by having two high spade I will block strong flushes or best bluff candidates. Also I was wondering what kind of hands would make most sense as turn x-r that is not flush. Personally I would not have any non high flush x-r hands in this actual hand.
But anyway BB leads on turn:
Spoiler

So 16% is quite a decent number but also noteworthy is sizing. In reality how people approach leading turn is basically very polarized imo. They will use big size and say I have strong flush or bluff. But solver prefers small size and does it with bit of everything. Mainly I was interested though on what flushes are leading:
Spoiler

So main lead part comes from 3 or 4 card and other categories. Reason being we block betting/calling range by having multiple flush cards or board pair. Two pairs and sets are obviously quite rare combo wise as those would fair amount of time x-r flop. Another question is if we do approach this more polarized meaning we dont aim to have two pairs or sets in lead range it will probably make sense to use bigger sizing. Not necessarily pot as we want to keep villain in hand with some of those weaker stuff like straight or two pairs but perhaps like half pot.
For BB x-r range on turn with non flush hands:
Spoiler

So not so surprisingly main flush to x-r is nut flush but also 60% of nut flushes are supposed to only call turn. But main part of non flushes then come from these nut flush blockers. Some with very low equity that are raising half pot and folding. But also fair amount of mid sets that then call of having enough equity. We of course invest a lot of stack to raise half pot at this point but yeah I suppose it can be very effective versus some players as it looks extremely strong and most people likely dont assume to have practically any fe for shoving.
Absolutely crazy hand at end of the session today. Sorry about few gifs but this hh really deserve them
