I changed my approach a little bit.

This means I move up to NL10 mainly, but I will only play one table or maximum two tables. If I feel like grinding like crazy, I will just open 4-tables of NL5.

On NL10, I will really think through every single click of my mouse. Try to steal in every spot possible, taking all the (super)-marginal spots and try to exploit my opponents to the absolute maximum.

When playing 4-tables I notice I don't really have the time to think about the best line in every single spot and sometimes I just pay less attention to one hand than the other. Just because one is more interesting.

Personally when I play 4-tables fast format I care less about that little blind defense pot with J3s on a 328r-board, when at the same time I'm in a 4-bet pot with AKs. That AKs is going to get full attention.

Playing less tables will probably improve my game a lot and I will make better decisions. Also I will finally start to share some hands I am not sure about.

I think that's a good thing if you want to improve your game. I share the similar thought, although personally I find that 1 table is getting boring real fast too and therefore find 2 tables being the sweet spot. Trying to find small edges when 4 tabling especially in fast format is hard especially with the time bank being really short. It wouldn't be the first time I run out on time on one of the tables because of a hard decision on another table. That can be tilt inducing too but certainly not an ideal gameplay if you want to focus on finding small edges.

Sharing hand history and hear other opinions certainly can be very helpful so I'd definitely recommend that too.

Week 5:

Current progression:
Starting date: January 5th 2023
Starting bankroll: $40
Current limit: NL5
This week hands played: 8,106
Total hands played: 52,194
This week Win/Loss: $-139.50
Total Win/Loss: $-125.24
Current bankroll: $332.01
Goal: $2,500.00

Moving up to NL10 didn't work out for me as expected. I ran really bad, like insanely bad yesterday. All this standard shit, like AA vs KK and they flop quads every time. They spazz with 78s on 5KAr and get runner straight vs my set of aces, just standard shit like that. I took some time to review my session of yesterday and saw a lot of mistakes and spew aswell. I am calling river way too light and I suck in the blinds. I know what I have to work on. Back to the drawing board and back to NL5.

Just played some normal NL10 tables and already saw the huge difference with Rush & Cash players in sense of how loose they play. Maybe I will leave the Rush & Cash for a while and focus on regular tables. Didn't even play 100 hands and already saw stuff like this:

GG Poker - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 204 BB
Hero (BB): 100 BB
UTG: 100 BB
MP: 71.8 BB
CO: 111.9 BB
BTN: 75.2 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K♣ K♥

fold, MP calls 1 BB, CO raises to 2.8 BB, fold, SB raises to 8.8 BB, Hero raises to 25 BB, MP raises to 71.8 BB and is all-in, fold, SB calls 63 BB, Hero raises to 100 BB and is all-in, SB calls 28.2 BB

Flop: (274.6 BB, 3 players) 2♠ 9♥ 2♣

Turn: (274.6 BB, 3 players) 5♥

River: (274.6 BB, 3 players) J♣

Hero shows K♣ K♥ (Two Pair, Kings and Twos)

Main Pot [218.2 BB]: (Pre 64%, Flop 89%, Turn 86%)
Side Pot#1 [56.4 BB]: (Pre 81%, Flop 91%, Turn 95%)

MP shows 8♦ 6♦ (One Pair, Twos)

Main Pot [218.2 BB]: (Pre 19%, Flop 2%, Turn 10%)

SB shows T♠ T♥ (Two Pair, Tens and Twos)

Main Pot [218.2 BB]: (Pre 17%, Flop 9%, Turn 5%)
Side Pot#1 [56.4 BB]: (Pre 19%, Flop 9%, Turn 5%)

Hero wins 263.7 BB

My bankroll is already back up to: $390, because I also was on one regular table where I got a piece of the bad beat jackpot. :f_love:

Uhhmm okay, bye bye Rush & Cash. Welcome regular NL10 tables. Only played a few hands yesterday and today and only really tried to make hands and win. I'm already back on my $475 bankroll right now.

Good-looking graph.

What was the reason you switched from Rush & Cash to regular tables?

That I'd be interested in, too. I had some problems with Rush & Cash, too. But at the same time, it was my first attempt to switch from FR to 6max. So, curious to find out about your experience on the comparison between Rush & Cash and regular tables, too.

Somehow I get in a lot of awful spots in Rush & Cash and I think it's mainly because the population in general is really nitty and/or they constantly 3-bet and squeeze. When I try to 4-bet bluff a guy that is 3-betting like 27% they just shove, somehow they always have it.
Also post-flop/turn/river they somehow always have the nuts. Even in spots where they should have tons of bluffs, I seem to run into their nutted range like almost all the time. Or they simply don't bluff at all?

Last Saturday I lost around 15 buy-ins on NL10 playing Rush & Cash. Some spew, some tilt, but also a lot of me just running into nutted ranges all the time.

I wanted to try something else, do some table selection on NL10 regular tables to find some fish and I found a lot. Some tables I sat down had 3-4 fishes that were not full-stacked and/or playing 75% VPIP. Just stuff you don't see in Rush & Cash.

After only a few minutes players started to spew their chips at me and it was really easy game. My BR got up from $330 to currently $480 in only 2 days.

This is really short term ofcourse and not anywhere near a realistic view of what would be possible long term, but it does show that in regular tables it's easier to make a profit for me.

All I really do is avoid to play against the regs. Isolate the fish as much as possible, hit hands and stack off. If the fish to reg ratio gets too low, I just look for a different table.

Getting to NL100 is going to be a walk in the park if things are staying this way. I passed the $500-mark this morning and took a shot of NL25 and then above hand happened. Both players were tagged as fish, play high VPIPs, so I want to call with hands that have good nut-potential. When he 3-bets way too small, I obviously just call. I'm not comfortable playing this limit though. I was extremely nervous to see their one outer the K♥:

Will probably go grind more on NL10, maybe up to like $625 and take some shots at NL25 when I feel great now and then. Also I took some time today to write down some life goals and poker goals. I am doing Schitzelfisch's producticity guide again, which I have done in the past before. I will update the main post with my goals for the year, maybe it will be inspiring to others.

Edit: Fixed typos.

Yup, that is how to play fast-fold poker. Nitty, and really aggro. Also, I've totally given up bluffing unless I have mega stats on the player (and on GGPoker I take their "hud" with a grain of salt). Bluffing doesn't work because no-one takes notes, and for bluffing to be effective they have to see you do it.

Thanks for confirming, for sure fast-fold poker is not my type of game. My style is far from nitty, my VPIP is 27% over 50k hands. Also I'm wondering how you can achieve a reasonable winrate in these games. In my opinion there's not much to gain if you sit at a table with players that protect their stack with their life and only ever ingage into action when they have the absolute nuts.

Currently I'm only playing regular tables, observing everyone very closely. Try to isolate and stack off the fish and try to find exploits facing regs. I'm going nowhere if people keep doing stuff like this in the hand I just played below.

Always  to tilt my opponents. :megusta:

We were playing for 20-30 minutes already when this hand happened. He won TT vs my AQ pre-flop all-in and later I stacked him with J8s vs 86o on 79Txx board. When it's my turn in this hand, I instantly 5x to induce TILT. And it's so good if it works. Even at the flop I was still laughing my ass off. Even when you loose these, it's so funny if your tilt-induce works and they go crazy. This is why I play poker.

Update:

It's going really well. As you can see I'm still a little bit in the red numbers, but this is mainly because of NL10 fast forward. I play 100% regular tables now on NL10 and shots at NL25 which is working out great for me. Yesterday I played 9 tables for hours straight and one time increased it to 12 tables which was too much. 9 tables seems to be the perfect number.

I have to work on my red line though because it's a disaster, but I'm also making really good folds, so maybe it's not as bad as it looks. I'm going to watch a video series called "The thin red line" this week and this may improve my game.

See you at the tables. :)

Yikes! 9 hours and 9 tables are both too much for me. 4 tables tops for me. I can do 6 if they're all the same game like Limit 5-Card Draw or similar.
