Villain seems quite active. Although, I havent seen any crazy stuff.

We raise a rather nice hand from MP and we are getting called by BU.

Monotone flop gives us a top set.
We block Kx holdings and our Q blocks some straights I guess but we do hold reverse blockers.
For some reason I decided to go for a check.
I could bet a half pot though.
Villain bets the pot and I decided to peel.

Turn is a brick and we check again.
Villain bets the pot again which shows quite a bit of strenght.
I think flushes shouldnt bet the pot there, do they?

Any thoughts?

Check-call flop is the way to go with :Kx: and no A♥. Besides we usually do not bluff our top-set that often on monotone flop because of our SDV.

Villain potting the turn is totally fine since his perceived range (should be) polarized. He is repping good flushes and could be bluffing from time to time with flushblockers. With set we are close to pot-odds so we should call. AA is the best non- hand you can get to make another stand. Without the blocker I would check-fold the river unless it pairs.

As your attorney, I suggest you check the TURN with your Top set on monotone board. (OOP)

Hero cannot check the turn, it´s fold, raise or call.

Without heart blockers, and blocking one of your own full house outs, you need to just call.
I think in some circumstances — such as a passive opponent that suddenly gets aggro — a fold might even be advisable.
You have 9 outs to the nuts.

Assuming BU has two hearts, you have 20% equity
Board: A♥8♥K♥ 4♣
       Equity    Wins    Ties
MP2    20.83%  20.83%   0.00% { QdAdAcKs }
BU     79.17%  79.17%   0.00% { *h*h** }

If BU has the Q♥: blocker and is just being annoying, then it's quite a bit better:
Board: A♥8♥K♥ 4♣
       Equity    Wins    Ties
MP2    55.66%  55.66%   0.00% { QdAdAcKs }
BU     44.34%  44.34%   0.00% { Qh*** }

but still not wonderful.
