I’ve been mainly playing on PokerStars. Started with $20 and had so many bad beats that slowly got whittled away. Only hope to earn money is on the Freerolls now.

Started on GGPoker and just from their daily freebie tickets my account in up to $5. Enough to play in Tournaments and cash games. Seems weird that it’s so different.

Those freebies are great — my favourites are the $1.00 Saturday spins.

My experience was the opposite of yours — I do better on PokerStars. However it likely has absolutely nothing to do with the site — or even the players.

Variance is likely the cause.
Have a look at the variance calculator When it first opens, you see the results of 20 simulations of 100,000 hands each for a player with a 2.5 BB/100 winrate. The black line represents the "expected" earnings. Now look at the best and worst.

I encourage you to play with the numbers a bit. If you scroll down, there's a detailed explanation of what the numbers mean along with some other stuff.

enjoy!

Uh no — what's your point?

Please have a look at our forum principles — especially the part about spamming

Bad bets are very common, in my case when I play at pokerstar I usually charge 10 usd, and play various speed tournaments of 1 usd, so I gradually increase my bankroll

Sounds like a plan.
Why not create your own blog, and enter the bankroll challenge?[1]
There may be some extra money in it for you.

All the best,
