I stumbled upon the first legal online poker site in South Africa for over 10 years. If any African players are keen to sign up the sites name is Edited. Hope I am allowed to promote the site here. Definitely needs more traffic.

Our forum principles discourage posting links to non-affiliated sites. The reason for this is that doing so makes it appear that PokerStrategy.com endorses it.
If this site can only be accessed from within South Aftrica, or if you think that an exception should be made, I suggest that you create a customer support ticket Follow the link then click the
beside "Open a new ticket"
Give them all the details you can.

Thanks for sharing the info about the online poker site in South Africa, sounds pretty cool. I'm not much of a poker player myself, but I have some friends who might be interested, so I'll definitely pass it along to them. It's always great to hear about new online gaming options, especially when it's something that's been unavailable for so long.
Hi MollyLyons,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com ![]()
I would be very careful about playing on small local sites unless they are certified by a gaming commission somewhere. our forum principles don't support mentioning non-affiliated sites by name (or URL) since people may be led to believe that they're endorsed by PokerStrategy.com
If you do play poker online, be sure to check out the free money offers and bonus offers.
Read the instructions carefully -- they usually apply to rooms where you don't already have an account.
What kind of games do you normally play?
Cash Games? Sit-and-Go? MTTs?
Do you just play Hold'em or do you play any other variants?
If you're totally new to poker, I recommend reading our No Limit Hold'em lessons overview articles first.
That article leads you through the basics and beyond.
It is even recommended if you've played a while ♠_biggrin:
If you have any questions, just post them in the Q&A forum.

The site I mentioned is licensed and regulated by a provincial gambling board within South Africa. It is listed at the bottom of their website.
I have deposited and withdrawn multiple times without issue.
Is it okay to mention the sites name as long as I don't include a link?

I signed up today, and I played the freeroll, I must still deposit, so can't comment on that. It's browser based, so can you multi table? I also didn't see any cash game traffic, but the tournaments look good. It's King Kramers site.

I don't really see anything wrong with it, however our forum principles say "no". I play on a similar site in British Columbia, and don't mention its name.
If you think strongly that this principle needs changing, I suggest posting the suggestion and reasons in the "Feedback and Suggestions" board.
Interested people should be able to find it on their favourite search engine anyway.
Hi guys, just to add to VorpalF2F
For every of our partner sites we do some vetting, sign contracts and do have contacts we can speak with in case issues arrise.
We do not have that for other operators, be it a random crypto room that completely operates in the crypto-dark or a country-specific room, even if it has a license in your jurisdiction. Unfortunately it is unlikely that we will partner up with a room from South Africa - but should they go global please give us a shout. Until then - please use your own judgement.

I don't blame you, South Africa can barley keep the lights on. But don't write them off, they'll get there (global I mean, the poker room, I hope, SA won't still have electricity - I really hope we get electricity).
On a side note the site is run by a well known South African pro, he wrote one of the client stories for the Mental Game Of Poker 2. I won't post his name I already posted his screen name above and I won't mention the site name if I do talk about playing there. Thanks for clearing that up.
PS
I'm not affiliated with the site in anyway, I signed up yesterday and only played the freeroll.
Thanks for the replies. Just wanted to let other SA players know on this site that there is a local options available but I will refrain from mentioning the name.

The same
- I remember your screen name and I think I remember your name
Don't think I used this username at the Pokerfarm. Used Baggis99 at the Pokerfarm.
Anyway, going to start grinding this local site although cash game traffic is pretty low but I will make it work.
