Weekly update no. 22

Played from 27.02.2023 to 05.03.2023

Hi everyone, :welcome:

Last week I played some small tournaments. During the week I was playing only some freerolls since I did not have much time, but on weekend I played all kinds of tournaments, starting with freerolls and finishing with some $2.20 sat. to Sunday million anniversary since for this month this will be my main goal. I really want to play this tournament. I don't recommend doing what I am this month since the main goal should be to play regular tournaments and try to build your bankroll and learn by playing small fields.

The main scores this week came from the 2 final tables that I played: the CC weekly Saturday and daily CC Sunday, unfortunately not 1st place for me. :sifflote: Maybe this week I will win again one of those. :gl:

The plan for the upcoming weeks will be to qualify to Sunday Million Anniversary, and also to play more $3.30, $4.40 and $5.50 tournaments since for the last couple of months I was slacking on pretty much grinding properly. I apologies for that, but sometimes there are more important things for me.

Also I managed to finnish my Hand Hystory for the $150 GGMasters tournament that I played and I will post some hands into the forum for you guys to give feedback on. There where some interesting hand that I play, people play different this huge fields compare to daily tournaments (way more fish/recreational in them), I was expecting that but the plays I saw....:spit:

This is the bankroll this week:

Played from 27.02.2023 to 05.03.2023

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $1092.57 + T$ 517.20 = $1609.77
Current Bankroll: $1129.07 + T$ 503.84 = $1632.91

Profit from last week: + $23.14

Goal: $10 000

Take care guys and good luck at the tables. :f_thumbsup:

Hi everyone, :welcome:

Even though this has nothing to do with this challenge I wanted to post it here as a reminder for me of what happens when I brake one of my rules that I worked so hard to develop. "Don't play poker when you are angry and in a bad state mentality "

So yesterday started as a normal day, but soon after some things happened that made me angry and in a bad mood...and what do you think that this "genius" did; I started playing poker on GGPoker since they have nice tournaments also during the day (my time), of course I was playing poorly and played way to loose and bad; so I got tilted more, and lost around $20 from my bankroll.

After that I was trying to "recover my losses" and played the stupid and the worst kind of games: Spin & Gold's (in the past...3-4 years ago... this type of games I played when I gambled my bankroll). Of course I lost starting with some$1, $3, then move to some $5 and the cherry on top one $50 Spin & Gold. After this last tournament I closed my PC and took a break for around 4 hours and disconnected form everything that happened, I went and took a walk with my wife and calm down.

So as a reminder to never play angry and in a bad state I post this graph so I remind myself what can happen in couple of hours with my 2 months work.

This graph is only 1 month old...since I started to import my hands from Pokercraft to HM.

So now I start over on GGPoker. Thankfully I did not lost all my bankroll. Take care guys and have a nice Sunday. :f_thumbsup:

Or simply just plain tired.

I lost 1/3 of my 888 bankroll a few days ago for that very reason.

Nor drunk! Definitely not drunk. Besides obvious reasons dont let me start stating numerous times I destroyed my bankroll by playing drunk. (I did multiply the BR also playing drunk:f_rolleyes:, but thats another story :f_drink: )

I wish I'd seen this earlier today. I hope in the future I will be able to just leave the poker client closed on days like this and go do something else. Really goes to show how important emotions and the mental state is in poker.

Anyways good luck with your challenge, back to crushing _drink:

Thank you guys for support. πŸ™

I'm taking a week off. I need to chill, clear my head and disconnect for a bit. I will be back with some more updates next week.

Second hand of the tournament, I opened 2,5x and he shoved pre-flop. It was a turbo with 5 min levels. :sifflote:

See you guys next week. Take care :gl:

Come back even stronger. Mental game is a big part of poker, the hands above are frustrating, but are normal. You did not play bad and went all in with 3rd pair as bluff catcher, that would be tilt and a reason for taking a break. You played good got nice cards, but the villains just had more luck.

Stay strong and GL @ the tables

In addition, transferring from Stars to GG is very tempting. The player pool is softer, and on top of that they tend to lure you to play out of your comfort zone by chasing rakeback bonuses or introducing games with even softer fields, that attract recreational players, and you do have advantage over them on a long run, but in short term they can get very lucky and you need a strong mental game to overcome that.
Maybe this will be rude from me, but I would suggest you focus on micro mtts for now. The fields are similar to those like on stars leaderboard mtts, and you were owning them, once you get comfortable, go to higher BIs and crush.

Well spoken! It's really important on GG not to stretch to "take advantage" of a promo. It can stress your bankroll.
OTOH, their honeymoon promo is world class. Lots of great $ to be made, and it is a good way to get to know some obscure variants.

Yes I thought that I was past this...and managed to overcome this side of mine. I was working hard on develop a better side of me mentality and tried to understand why I was tilting so much, and I did. For a long time I played without tilting and when I was not tired or angry.

I do not drink. My "poison" is Coca Cola, which I try to cut off also.

Thank you, that is exactly what I did...I took some day off. I did not played poker, and I went back to basics and started again studying Psychology part of this forum, watching videos and reading some articles and now I am ready to grind again. It helps a lot to take some days off when you are not in a good state of mind. What I learn is that poker is not going anywhere, the games are here when you come back.

I did not transfer my bankroll to GGPoker. This challenge is an Pokerstars only challenge, I just posted some thinks that happened to me on that platform because I play on multiple platforms, but only this one is taken into consideration for this challenge, also playing on multiple platforms influences how you play on all of them. That is the reason why I stop playing on Stars when this happened, because I did not want to loose a good portion of my bankroll here also.

No is not rude when you suggested that, and I thank you for saying it. That is exactly what I will do. Start again and build my bankroll, playing micro MTT's until I can beat them and only after a good sample of tournaments when I can see that I will beat this stakes I will move up.

Thank you all for your support :f_love:

Isn't the honeymoon promo just for new players? I don't have it in my client.

Hi everyone, :welcome:

Took some days off to try and refocus and simply disconnect from everything , and it helped I feel relaxed and ready to start grinding again. I had some study session in which I just focused on the mental game of poker and on how to improve my play. Also I went to the basics and tried to improve my thinking when playing, I was studying opening ranges with different stacks and also thinking in ranges ( putting my opponents on different ranges ).

Today is my last off day, I will not play any poker today, I just wanted to updated you guys and reply to all of you and thank you for your support. _thumbsup:

Yes.
When it was first introduced, all current GGPoker members got to take a shot.
I missed two or three challenges only. I can't remember what the payout was, but it was decent

Nice hand!
I hope you shoved, but it would be hard to find a caller from a solid player.

Weekly update no. 23 and no. 24

Played from 06.03.2023 to 19.03.2023

Hi everyone, :welcome:

As most of you guys who follow this thread know already, I took some days off from poker last week, and I did not post the weekly update so I will combine them today. _wink: In the first week I mostly played some freerolls, because I was focusing on GGPoker, and managed to get one deep run in the CC weekly freeroll on Saturday finishing 15th.

After that the "breakdown" came :censored: (lost 1/3rd of my bankroll on GG) and luckily :sifflote: I wasn't playing on Pokerstars anymore. In the coming week I haven't played poker until Saturday, but I was on full study mode and put around 4-5 hours daily on meditation, reading Psychology articles and watching Psychology videos. (Pokerstrategy has a nice set of materials on mental game and psychology )
By Saturday I was eager to play and grind again. I made a new daily schedule, so I'm starting fresh and fully focused. Saturday I played the 2 CC $300 tournaments, in 1st I got a bit unlucky and shoved AKo when I had 20 BB and got called by KK :transpire: and in the other one I can't be too upset since this is the hand:

PokerStars - 10/20 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

Hero (UTG+1): 2,940 (147 bb)
MP: 2,990 (149.5 bb)
MP+1: 2,970 (148.5 bb)
MP+2: 3,000 (150 bb)
CO: 2,930 (146.5 bb)
BTN: 2,920 (146 bb)
SB: 2,940 (147 bb)
BB: 2,615 (130.8 bb)
UTG: 3,695 (184.8 bb)

SB posts 10, BB posts 20

Pre Flop: (pot: 30) Hero has A♣: 7♣:
fold, Hero raises to 60, 3 folds, CO calls 60, 3 folds

Flop: (150, 2 players) 5♦: A♠: J♣:
Hero bets 74, CO calls 74

Turn: (298, 2 players) K♣:
Hero bets 146, CO calls 146

River: (590, 2 players) T♣:
Hero bets 455, CO raises to 1,955, Hero raises to 2,660 and is all-in, CO calls 695 and is all-in

Results: 5,890 pot (0 rake)
Final Board: 5♦: A♠: J♣: K♣: T♣:

Spoiler

Hero shows A♣: 7♣:: (Flush, Ace High)
(Pre 59%, Flop 95%, Turn 91%)

CO shows 9♣: Q♣:: (Straight Flush, King High)
(Pre 41%, Flop 5%, Turn 9%)

CO wins 5,890

Also I played 2 phase 1 satellites to the upcoming Sunday Millions Anniversary, in the $1.10 I did not get into the phase 2, but I managed to reach it into the $2.20 one.

Unfortunately on Sunday I didn't reached the top 125 places, I was starting phase 2 with around 14BB so it was pretty much push/fold situation. :transpire: I will try again this week.

Also after I got knocked out Saturday against a straight flush it was my time on Sunday to make a Royal Flush, in the 888 Poker Daily CC Freeroll xD

Off topic there I made the final table yesterday in that tournament. xD

So for this challenge the bankroll that I am starting this week is:

Played from 06.03.2023 to 19.03.2023

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $1129.07 + T$ 503.84 = $1632.91
Current Bankroll: $1133.67 + T$ 500.54 = $1634.21

Profit from last week: + $1.30

Goal: $10 000

Take care guys and good luck at the tables. :f_drink:

Weekly update no. 25

Played from 20.03.2023 to 26.03.2023

Hi everyone, :welcome:

A new weekly, the past week started good, I managed to set up a new schedule at work and also after work, pretty much like this: From 9 -17 I'm at work and after that I spend some time with the family until 9 PM when I start my poker session. When I am at work since I work from home I managed to structure my time so I can have at least 1h a day that I have allocated to poker study, so I will either watch strategy videos, reading MTT articles or doing some gameplay scenarios.

During the week I played only the daily freerolls and some sat. to the Sunday Million Anniversary, on Wednesday I reached final 2 tables in the CC Daily Platinum and on Friday I finished 3rd. At the final table I was having a medium stack but I could not win any flips, since the average stack was around 15-20 bb pretty much everyone was playing push or fold.

Saturday I played only in the evening since I had some family time for most of the day, and I was focusing on playing satellite to the Sunday Million. Sunday came and I was still not qualified yet so I decided to spent a total of T$ 60 on satellites, if I was not able to make it I would have payed the entry fee from my T$ that I have. Luckily I managed to win an entry form a $11 sat., I was pretty much for the entire tournament in top 10 stacks. :f_thumbsup:

So I started the Sunday Million with a 30bb stack, I got in the second hand AA in the UTG so I raised 2.5bb everyone folded until the SB which raised to 8.3bb do I decided to 4-bet to 16bb after that he shoved and I call. He had AQo I was pretty confident and I was thinking that I will double up fast  ( bad idea ) the board had 4  and I did not have the A♥: but guess who did :mdr::mdr:. After that I was left with 4bb and managed to double up when I was moved from that table, but soon after I got knocked out. I guess this Sunday was not for me. Maybe next time. :gl:

Good luck to any of you guys that are still in it. :gl:

Also I have made the decision since I have a nice bankroll to play some new tournaments based on my new schedule...so from now on I will play this daily tournaments and also I will play every single Sunday Storm starting this week. I can not play only $1,10 and $2,20 tournaments with this deep on a bankroll. Here are the new daily tournaments:

So for this challenge the bankroll that I am starting this week is:

Played from 20.03.2023 to 26.03.2023

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $1133.67 + T$ 500.54 = $1634.21
Current Bankroll: $1151.98 + T$422.36 = $1574.34

Profit from last week: - $59.87

Goal: $10 000

Take care guys and good luck at the tables. :f_drink:
