GG Poker - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 119.96 BB
Hero (SB): 114.16 BB
BB: 205.48 BB
UTG: 100 BB
MP: 100 BB
CO: 68.6 BB

Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 9♥ 9♣

UTG raises to 2.52 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 2.12 BB, fold

Flop: (6.04 BB, 2 players) 9♦ Q♣ 5♦
Hero checks, UTG checks

Turn: (6.04 BB, 2 players) 2♣
Hero bets 8.6 BB, UTG calls 8.6 BB

River: (23.24 BB, 2 players) K♥
Hero bets 33.04 BB, UTG calls 33.04 BB

The villain is a thinking tag.

I think you wanna do it on pay off board like this one.

Would anyone start from flop?

Thoughts?

Wouldn't donk flop here. Would like to x/r though. As played I think it's fine, it sucks when he jams river. I've been in a similar spot yesterday and I called anyway and they had JT obviously. He had AA or AK here?

Hero shows 9♥ 9♣ (Three of a Kind, Nines)
(Pre 65%, Flop 93%, Turn 100%)
UTG shows T♦ 9♠ (One Pair, Nines)
(Pre 35%, Flop 7%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins 84.84 BB
The part of reasons that the villain calls down is because Td9s blocks JT. I believe.

over bet turn i do some, I don't know of the strategy that much so can't help to much, but IMO, i am guessing theoretically, that your range advantage to donk overbet has to be pretty big. taking that into account, you hold all sets besides queens, which i believe gives you the advantage, and then this over bet helps against good draw hands. AK club, AK diamond, KJ club AQ diamond KQ diamond and maybe AJ diamond.

As for Donk flop, NO. you want villain to have AQ so you can c/r as said above. Then hopefully he spazzys out and goes all in with AQ.

just saw spoiler: 25NL- there isn't way in hell that guy is calling down cause blockers. He opened UTG with 109 offsuit, i would give him that much credit. I would put him in the whale category. 3rd pair shat kicker.. ehhhhh

Oh, yes, I see. That's true. AQ/KQ are good ones to go after. As for the T9o, perhaps I misjudged the villain as a tag, probably more like a lag. I do not open T9o from UTG but I imagine lag would.

I play more of a lag style, and I am not too sure., I would be opening 10 9 off suit at UTG. I would need to know the ppl I am playing against.

I recently played vs a player own donked the flop multi-way with a non-nut flush draw, and got called by BTN with middle pair.
I folded a crap hand. I had posted it earlier: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3384668#post3384668

I think I need to have a donk range that is a mixture of the nuts and semi-bluffs — and throw in some split two pair or bottom two pair hands.
The problem is that most of the nutty hands would be better played as check/raises
