Another kind of "Friday grind"

Yesterday, Harrier and I visited the "Palmengarten" ("palm tree garden") in Frankfurt again - as last year in August. The palm tree garden is an exhibition of may different beautyful plants from all over the world. You can see plants and insects in special indoor green houses as well as outdoor. For me, who loves nature, it´s always a blast!!

This one is the palm tree house with tropical climate:

Tropical rain forest

NEW!!

Coming up soon ........ in Prim´s garden...

The carnivores!!

These are a special surprise from Harrier. As I am a big fan of carnivore plants (and need them to get rid of some bad bugs, flies and mosquitos!!!) Harrier gave me those seeds. Introducing: The venus fly trap and the sundew plant!!

Sooooooo excited!!!

But before I plant them, I have to do a little study about how to care properly for them, gotta buy special soil and a water descaler (we very "hard" water here!!! Those guys won´t survive that). As soon as this is done, we can go for the carnivores!

The film that always comes to my mind with those plants is still the Little Shop of Horrors.

I hope that Prim's new plant will prosper... but hopefully not quite like the plant from that one... :f_ugly:

The kings do not want to play tournaments!

Now I found out what´s wrong with the KK! Those kings just do not want to play SnGs! :f_ugly: Again, today, in a little 0,25 $ SnG-MTT, they lost gain! Versus A4o! Was not a great SnG-session today altogether, two first places and a couple of second places making up for SnGs full of total junk hands, lost flips and unlucky busts. :rage: Todays SnG session ended up break-evenish, but we don´t finish there!

The kings made up for it. They held up in CG and brought me a stack in NL2 on Partypoker (Villain went all-in pre with QQ and I called with KK). PLO2 went okay too, no whole stack but a couple of small pots. Better than nothing, right? Eventually, CG made up for a not so great SnG session with 2 stacks up!

April recap

So, it´s time again to report how my SnG/CG-month went.

BR last month: 367,04 €
BR this month: 380,09 €
Profit this month: + 13,05 €

Starting BR was: 382,04 €

So, we´re getting there and this month we´re (almost) out of the downswing and going into the right direction.

Partypoker

Pokerstars

Even though SnGs are still not going really well, on Stars we´re pretty much break even, the winnings come mainly from CG. :sifflote:
But also in the SnGs it´s going uphill slowly...

Me and my natural instinct: Cheat day or "Junk Food Account"?

Well I have been doing the "Cheat Day" for a while now and I´m not sure, whether I´m going to keep this up. Even though I´m not the type of person who tends to binge and I could keep the calorie intake on my Cheat Days in check (cannot eat more than 2.500 kcal! It´s Cheat Day not p*ke day!), I tended to eat more sweets than I wanted to. The thing is this: On Cheat Days, I may have eaten one or two extra ice creams, just "because today it´s allowed and otherwise I have to wait a whole week until I get an ice cream". Does this make sense? To me not really. I do not want to eat an ice cream, just because "today, this is my chance, otherwise I wait another week". :f_ugly: This is actually a natural survival instinct!

Another problem was having severe cravings during non-cheat days. I would have been happy with just one bar of chocolate, one small slice of cake, a small portion of cookies or one ice cream. But no, I had to wait until Saturday and then ate everything, which was forbidden on non-cheat-days. Yesterday, for example, I mainly ate just sweets. This doesn´t really make sense, does it?

So, I figured, it´s better to have a so-called "Junk Food Account". What does that mean? Well, usually, 80 to 90 % of our diet should consist of healthy, natural, home-cooked foods, 10-20 % can be junk...whatever. Yes, I call some foods indeed "junk", because if we´re honest: We do not really need them and they are not really good for us, right? I´m speaking of highly processed foods: fast-food, convenience-food, sweets and such.

As I eat about 2.000 kcal in average per day, at the moment even a bit less, because I want to loose body fat, that will be about 12.000 to 14.000 calories per week. Of those weekly calorie intake, I figured, I could make myself a "Cheat Account" of 2.000 kcal/week. This means: 2.000 of those 12.000-14.000 calories can come from "junk foods". No matter, when I eat those foods, no matter what (sweets, convenience stuff, etc., but for me it´s mostly sweets  ), as long as I don´t exceed the 2.000 calories per week, it´s up to me.

I still can save all the calories for a "Cheat Day" or I may have one small portion of sweets every day, or every other day, or I may "cheat" twice a week: It´s up to me! So, I don´t have to suffer severe cravings during non-cheat days and can allow myself a small portion of "junk food" once in a while, whenever the cravings get really bad.

.

The organizers of "freetime farmer" take care of the chicken and the gentleman :f_wink: I have no idea what kind of chicken they are, this year, I decided not to rent a chicken, because first I have to learn the gardening, then I can learn how to take care of a chicken. :f_ugly: This year, I take a garden with veggies and fruit. There´s a lot to learn for me! But I will get there.....

Why I play on Partypoker? Because we Germans do not have many opportunities to play on other poker rooms. We have BetOnline, Partypoker, Pokerstars and ...? What? I mainly play on Pokertars because the traffic in the SnGs is just the best there. Not sure if 888 is still available for us, don´t know how the traffic in the SnGs is there, but I will take a look (if possible). I have BetOnline, but still struggling with the deposit, because, however, cannot deposit by credit card and I have no idea how this Crypto stuff works. Whenever I feel like playing MTT, then Partypoker was normally the way to go for me because the MTTs are not so large-field there, they are SUPER FISHY!! and they don´t take as much time as those large-field MTTs on Stars.

GGPoker?

They don't have Sit & Go games but they would have PLO for your cash game interests.

Pretty sure they are one of the very few companies with a legit licence in DE too.

I say they don't have Sit and Go, they have 16 player All-in or Fold Sit and Go + 30 player Battle Royales.

Bad leg!

No poker today, guys! Today, it´s an official holiday in Germany and first I was working in the garden and then went for a tennis workout. Played singles the first time and noticed that my leg has not completely healed yet.

So, at least with tennis singles and running I still have to be very careful! Not going to compete in any women´s singles this spring/summer. I thought everything was fine, went exercising and ouchi! Noticed that the muscle doesn´t work properly yet and hurts a bit. So, this means, still working out carefully for the next couple of weeks, tennis doubles is ok, swimming and cycling.

Goodbye Indoor-tennis, hello red ash! (Yes, I play anyway)

Tennis was actually not scheduled today, but the ladies tennis group was missing one lady, so I just hopped in for a nice practice. And of course same procedure as every year, guys: When switching from indoor tennis with carpet floor to outdoor tennis on red ash, you enounter some challenges and there are some pitfalls.

1) The timing when to hit the ball, yeah, in front of your body but the dynamics of the ball is different
2) The wind
3) The sun
4) The serving ..... outdoor...:f_o:...the WIND! :f_ugly: :f_ugly: :f_ugly:

Can do a lot, by the way, don´t feel pain, just the muscle in the calf doesn´t really want to do its job properly. :f_ugly: So, I´m not as fast as I used to be.

But at least I can do the gardening, some housework, I can go for a swim and cycling isn´t a big problem either.

And I am a huge fan of cheese like this cute little mouse I´ve been nicknamed after .... :sifflote:

I know that you're quite the energetic one, and that you didn't even plan to play today... but please do be careful out there. Don't overexert yourself, take long enough breaks, especially now that you're also doing more gardening outside.

Of course! I do all those things, because I really enjoy them, yeah, they´re also good for health but mainly I do sports because I enjoy it!
As soon as I do not enjoy sports anymore, I know, I must take a break. Because this means that I´m overexercised.
