Villain looks to me like a recreational who plays hit-or-fold (39/15 with 34 hands, no 3 bets, no Cbets out of 3 occasions, fold to Cbet 55% 5/9 occasions)
So, preflop is standard according to Jnandez (double suited rundown against EP RFI, he has the exact same example with different suits in his book), as it flops very smooth and doesn't benefit from multiway situations as it lacks nuttiness.
The flop looks good for me. I have a 12-card wrap with only 2 outs to the nuts (the 3 remaing 8s - diamond 8) if I counted the outs correctly.
I pot it as a semibluff to take it down right there and bluff made marginal hands like top pair or a jack/weak SD/FD.
The turn gives me the second nuts. To be honest, I just commited with the hand and hoped he would call it with worse, like a sticky FD, but I guess pot was too much.
Fold? What would he call me with in the flop and raise in the turn apart from the nuts? Could you give me some useful insight?
