Although I understand the meaning behind the poster, I would replace "Late Nights" with "Sleep", since although sometimes staying up late may be necessary, for me sufficient sleep is critical for top cognitive performance during the day.

Love the nature photos

Well those are the things you have to do to get what is above the water.

Good luck Mantelo ! At this point your blog is the only thing that keeps me connected with strategy and poker.

Hello grinders, greetings from green Ireland :f_thumbsup:

Got back from Irish Open, where I was placed 248th in the Main Event. Heading into the festival, I had no big hopes, just wanted to play good poker and see what happens. It was a long time since I was the youngest player at the table, and when it happens, it is usually a good sign :f_cool: Or maybe that's just a sign that you are getting older :f_ugly: Or maybe that's just a standard lineup in Irish Open and if it is truth, then I definitely want to comeback here next year :f_drink:
So from the very start of the day I was chiping up and finished day 1C in 7th place with 210k chips. Starting stack 30k, average around 70k so having 3x average was very encouraging. Day 2 started well from early beginning when I 4bet jam T♣:T♦: for 40 BB and held against A♥:Q♦:. I guess I was around 20th position when we arrived at the bubble phase (a little more than 300 players got paid) but got unsuccesfully seated on the right to chipleaders. Once I opened A♥:K♦:, called 3bet OOP and gave up on Q♠:9♣:8♣:, next time opened J♦:J♥:, called 3bet OOP and gave up on K♣:Q♣:8♠: I could potentially played both hands more aggressive preflop, but didn't want to increase the variance in a softy field. Maybe my leak of the game :f_rolleyes:
The crucial hand came just after the bubble burst. Had around 40BB but the table was already full of good players. MP opened, I 3bet from SB with A♣:J♠: and continued small on the flop A♦:9♥:5♥:. I checked the Turn 4♣: and called his sizeable bet, but when he jammed Allin on the River 7♦:, I folded after tanking for couple of minutes. Probably GTO would say to call here, but it just looked like he wanted me to call. After the tournament I asked this guy what he had, and he said A♠:Q♦:. Of course he could have lied to make me feel better, but his story makes sense.
So this fold saved me (potentially) and I was left with 20BB stack. Soon Big stack opened from MP, I found A♣:K♥: on the button and decided simply shove my big slick. Maybe my opponent thought that I was tilting as he made a quick call with K♦:Q♦:. A good spot for me, especially on K♣:7♦:5♠: board, but running :diamond: :diamond: on the Turn and River sent me to the cash desk.
The good side of this story is that I only used one bullet for this event :f_biggrin: And had one extra day to explore the city. But beer tasting is reserved for next time :f_drink:

Congrats on finishing ITM. Look at it from the positive side. It's another experience under your belt. One day...

Well said :f_thumbsup: Ireland was one of the few countries in Europe where I have not been. When disappointment with tournament exit goes away, good overall memories stay :f_drink:

A small profit in a week, but there is something not included in the bankroll.. :sifflote:

A package to Malta Festival in June, almost on my birthday dates. It is not Battle of Malta event, so probably I will return here once more. But as Malta is one of my favorite destinations, I don't mind coming here again :f_cool:

I've just counted 23 European countries, plus Morocco, Las Vegas and Peru outside my continent. But many countries I've visited more than once, like Estonia, Malta or Prague close to 10 times teach. I believe that 100 poker trips is a very real number :f_drink:

As for this Malta package, that includes:

Indeed, travel expenses always help. As there are direct flights from Lithuania to Malta, it covers tickets easily. Plus, I would never book myself such an expensive hotel, so it is my only chance to live like a king, even for just a week :f_biggrin:

Small profits, but at least profits last week :f_thumbsup: Only had two sessions as it is not always possible to run a Sunday session while football season is in action. My biggest result in the past days was this, enough for a beer :f_drink:

Hello my friends, a greeting photo of May from my trip in Dublin. And without much of the intro, let's jump into Monthly review :f_cool:

1. Visit 8 countries, at least 1 of them new to me
January - Krakow, Poland (non poker)
February - FPT Paris
March - PokerStars Eureka, Rozvadov
April - Irish Open

June - Summer Festival Malta

My trip to Ireland was my 4th of the year and so I'm at the halfway. Also, this country was my first experience, another reason to be happy :f_drink: May most likely will be without travelling, but I already have a package to Malta in June. After the Dublin, I feel a little fatigued so this one month break of Live poker comes into perfect timing :f_ugly:

2. Experience of 10 educational trails in Lithuania
Saidės educational trail
Karmazinai Hiking Trail
Educational trail of forest resources
Ribiškės Routes

A 6 kilometers route near Vilnius, mostly emphasizing on how the landscape was formed. Not an easy ride as lots of up and downs, hills ands ravines. But as always, 4 hours spent well :f_thumbsup:

3. Extend Trophy board or ship Major MTT online event
Well, at least Arsenal was close :f_ugly: Me, not so much.

4. Reach Final Table in Sunday Million, GG Masters or any 1 Million Guaranteed event
April and May are the months when my own football season is very intense. Most matches are run on Sunday evenings and I have no chance to play major Sunday events. I looked at the calendar, and there is only one late Sunday evening when I could potentially run a session. But even then I'm not sure if I have enough physical power left for a draining 10 hours marathon play. All hopes for summer :f_cool:

5. Buy 5 art paintings
No big results, no art paintings. But I was looking at the most valuable paintings currently and was surprised to see our profession at the position number 4 - The Card Players By Paul Cézanne. In 2011 the painting was bough for 250 million $, now it is up for 310 million $. Not a bad investment :f_eek:

6. Study poker 360 hours
January - 36 hours
February - 12 hours
March - 33 hours
April - 10 hours

Seeing these numbers I have to admit I am struggling with hours for studying. One week sick is baby, another wife, then me and that circle leaves a very limited time for improving. As the cold season is ending, I hope we will get back to normal very soon.

7. Foster our Homestead

Some pleasant news here! My wife planted some rare narcissists last year and last month couple of hundred blossoms grew up. I advised her to go to the bouquet shop and voila, our first ROI :f_biggrin: We also put some ads on facebook, and in short time we had a sellout. I wonder what to do with that extra money, expanding the garden or Sunday Million ticket :f_rolleyes: :f_tongue:

8. Reach 50k XPoints on French Duolingo

Crossing over half a thousand straight days :f_thumbsup: I don't need that much to understand PSG banner, but nonetheless.. :sifflote:

9. Finish in Top3 with Top Kickers reserve team, both in Winter and Summer seasons
It is a good start in our outdoor season :f_thumbsup: 2 wins and 2 draws, the only undefeated team in the league. I know it is only start, but nobody expected us to be toping, with league reporter labelling us fighting for avoiding relegation. Personally for me it is going good as well - 1 goal and 3 assists. I feel like I'm only 50% fit at the moment so there is definitely room for improvement.

10. Read 12 books
Dreams from My Father by Barack Obama
The Craft of Intelligence, by Allen Dulles
Father, There will always be America - Loreta Jastramskienė
Lord of the Flies, by William Golding

Proces, by Kafka Franz

Back to some old classics, or as others would say, reading what I should had done in the school :f_ugly:

So that is my review of April. It is clear that I still can't kickstart my poker routine, but as the temperature is rising, I hope my poker results will rise as well :f_thumbsup:

Hello grinders :f_thumbsup:
4 straight winning weeks in a row and the last one was the best this year overall :f_cool: Couldn't play late Sunday session so I thought to give it a try on the Sunday morning and it seems like the pool is very soft. Probably all the best regs are resting in the morning for late night grind, and that leaves the open doors for the players like me :f_biggrin: Here are some recent scores:

Couldn't finish neither of those with a gold medal, but happy with the scores anyway. See you at the tables! :f_drink:

Hello grinders :f_drink:
A decent week again, another step towards bankroll goal. Had one bigger score in the middle of the week, but some more expensive tournaments on Sunday didn't go my way. Nonetheless, happy with the direction my results are shifting recently, also happy with my play in general.

Good day grinders :f_drink:
Last week's profits only covered my lunch boxes :f_ugly: 39 euros seems smallish score, considering I had couple of deep runs.

Plenty of Knocked players, but you must win Heads-up in Bounty tournaments if you want big score :f_eek:
As GG results are on the high again, can't say the same about PokerStars. The Scoop has started which increases not only the buy-in range but the variance as well. Failed to cash in most events, so have to get satisfied with a 2 digit weekly profit :f_drink:

5 months passed by this year and it's time for one of my favorites months - June :f_love: The sun is warming nicely, the nature flourish, my and my daughter's birthdays are on the way, what can I ask for more :f_cool: Results.. You can always ask for better poker results :f_biggrin: I expect a busy poker summer this time, so let's look at the progress of my yearly goals!

1. Visit 8 countries, at least 1 of them new to me
January - Krakow, Poland (non poker)
February - FPT Paris
March - PokerStars Eureka, Rozvadov
April - Irish Open

June - Summer Festival Malta

3 weeks until my trip to Malta, the country where I had my career's biggest score. So no surprise that I look forward to this festival very much :f_thumbsup:

2. Experience of 10 educational trails in Lithuania
Saidės educational trail
Karmazinai Hiking Trail
Educational trail of forest resources
Ribiškės Routes
Pučkoriai Park Trail

A 5 kilometer walk with friends with a chance to see where our president lives (1st picture). Yes, our main head lives in a forest (park), but don't expect his house to be a wooden farmhouse :f_ugly:

3. Extend Trophy board or ship Major MTT online event
Reserved for Malta Summer Festival :f_drink:

4. Reach Final Table in Sunday Million, GG Masters or any 1 Million Guaranteed event
Still can't go deep in the most prestigious events :f_confused: 760th place from 20k runners is not a bad result, but yet far away from final tables.

5. Buy 5 art paintings
As my own collection is not increasing, I just post the most popular paintings in the world :f_biggrin: In this instance, it is "Salvator Mundi" by Leonardo Da Vinci, the record sale of 450$ million. The figure is not beaten from 2017, but probably will be overtaken soon. Only Mona Liza is valued more (around 860$), although I'm not sure the Louvre would seel it for this price tag :f_cool:

6. Study poker 360 hours
January - 36 hours
February - 12 hours
March - 33 hours
April - 10 hours
May - 37 hours

Total hours 128, projected 150. My best month considering hours, which reflects in some improved results at the tables. If I could keep it consistent, my life would get easier for sure.

7. Foster our Homestead
Welcome to my new office :f_biggrin: Got some furniture from 2nd hand store so I could eat and read more comfortably. Planning to come here at least twice a week, good place for some work and sunbathing :f_cool:

8. Reach 50k XPoints on French Duolingo
Extending the day Streak and increasing the TotalXP. On track with this goal :f_thumbsup:

9. Finish in Top3 with Top Kickers reserve team, both in Winter and Summer seasons
We are not the best team in attack, not the best in defense, but we are topping the table :f_thumbsup: With one game to go in the first half of the season, it is up to us if we could go into break holding the "chiplead".

10. Read 12 books
Dreams from My Father by Barack Obama
The Craft of Intelligence, by Allen Dulles
Father, There will always be America - Loreta Jastramskienė
Lord of the Flies, by William Golding
Process, by Kafka Franz

Just finished the Process by Kafka, so on my way to library to get a new one. Metamorphosis was more enjoyable personally for me, probably I'm not grown enough yet for more complex readings :f_ugly:

Overall seems I'm OK with progression of my goals, but I can't rest too much in summer season. If I could harmonize work and leisure under the sun, June July and August could be breakthrough months. Hopefully :f_thumbsup:
