LOL thank you - not quite skinny yet though!
Well done. Now it's also a challenge to keep you in shape. That's sometimes even tougher

June 1st: 12st 4 / 172 lbs / 78kgLet's do ONE more month and finish the job before my vacation in July!
Plan:
30km cycles (Mon-Friday)
Saturday and Sunday off as rest (can be alternated with weekdays if feeling shitty during a specific day) but 5 out of every 7 days in any case
1,500 daily calories intake
Hoping to end at 11st 12 / 166lbs / 75.2kg11st 12 gives me 2lbs flex when increasing cals again and hope to maintain at 12st from there onwards....
Fuck it, we are so close and I'm in good shape, might as well finish the job now!

Now you need to keep it up. I don't even know you personally but I'm so happy for you.:banana::banana:

Ordinarily, I would completely agree with you.
In the past I have done exactly that and yo-yo'd to higher highs after lower lows.
This time is very different - I was never "dieting" per se, I was making better food choices and that knowledge is not going to leave me.
In fact, I'm going to find it tougher to go back to eating more than 1,500 calories per day, if anything.

Thank you!
That's the beauty of the internet I suppose - appreciate the kind words all the same.
First week of June is practically in the books and the downward trend continues.
I've been making great strides for the last 10 days without breaking much of a sweat. Ireland has been sunkissed since mid-May with daily temperatures in the mid 20s (degrees) and have relaxed on the cycling and turned to walking.
In fact, I didn't cycle on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday but returned today for my usual 30km+
The + today was an extra 1.4km and there's a reason for this. The trusted formula that I've found for calorie maintenance (at least one that works for me) is body weight in lbs + add a zero and multiply by 1.2
I was 12st 1 this morning making me 169 lbs (1690 x 1.2) = 2,028 calories. Cycling gives me 15 calories per 1km so 450 for my 30km. I added a little bit extra to get me to a 2,500 allowance and then a deficit of 1,000 for my meals.
I don't add any cals from walking or general movement so there's always that little bit extra at the end of the day that's not being taken into consideration.
In short - we're doing well, 12st 1 (169 lbs) after 6.5 days of the month and well on track to finish around 11st 8-11 by the end of the month. The holiday begins on the 12th of July so I'll have 12 days to readjust if I don't conclude earlier, but I'm not likely going to go nuts even on holidays.
The next milestones are being < 12 st (that would mean I've lost 4st
And the final milestone is reaching 11st 11, which would mean I've lost the exact weight of my youngest daughter (4st 4lbs) since the beginning.

That's a good strategy. Off course it's always tough to keep the balance when you eat a little bit more than you used to be the last couple of months and eat healty all the time.

Eating healthy all the time is not a necessity - on the whole, eating healthy is great but you can fine-tune your diet with splashes of the calorific niceties along the way to keep yourself sane.
I'd say over 90% of this I've had either some chocolate or crisps and managed to make the progress I've made. Taking something out of your diet for the sake of a diet is the recipe for failure. Incorporating them into any diet is the way to go.
This is absolutely true! I have either cheat meals or do a whole cheat day. Important is 80:20! 80 % healthy, 20 % can be "junk". So, you can have a little dessert in the afternoon or completely leave junk food be for 6 days a week and then do one cheat day. To keep average calorie intake in check, I found, that it´s better to have several little cheat meals but on special occasions and social gatherings it´s not bad to do a whole cheat day.

Why do we eat?
Nutrition — We need to eat to stay alive, and what we eat has an impact on our health.
Social — Eating with others is a major part of bonding. Would you sit down to a meal with people that hate you? (we take it for granted that we don't hate anyone ourselves). At my daughter's birthday dinner, the social interaction was so enjoyable that the magnificent food often took a back seat to the enjoyment of the companionship.
Enjoyment — As I said, the food was magnificent. There are a few meals I have had in my life where I still remember the taste, the surroundings and the people.
Control — This might seem odd, but being able to eat what we choose while rejecting other things enables us to maintain a feeling of control over our own lives. In University, the other guys I lived with me called me "garbage guts" because I would eat anything. There are things I choose not to eat, but they were such picky eaters that something I would not eat never came up. Tofu and white chocolate come to mind. I can eat both of them, but what's the point? They have no taste and the texture is ...
I´m not a fan of Tofu either, but white chocolate ....... aaaw..well, ANY kind of chocolate ... YUMM YUMM!

What I can eat, but prefer not to is fennel!

And THE absolute NO GOes are sweet potaoes, tiramisu, Sacher cake, Linzer cake and marzipan.

Yeah, white chocolate is the NUTS! Haven't had any in aaaaaaaaages though.
I actually ate cucumber for the first time yesterday (I thought I hated it) turns out I enjoy it after all.
I cannot think of any no-goers off the top of my head either.
Well, anything coffee related is out - haaaaaate the smell and taste of it.

+1, coffee is great - and even if it wasn't, I need that caffeine! ![]()

I don't think I knew before that Prim doesn't like marzipan... amaretto is okay, though?

White chocolate with nuts is quite good. Without it, I find it a little bland, but still okay. It also makes a fine drinking chocolate.
I'm with Vorpal when it comes to tofu, though.
I normally don't like cucumbers either, but found them okay when I once included them as a minor ingredient in a burger version a few weeks ago.
They would be part of tier 3 in my list of foods I don't like:
Tier 1: Things I don't like on their own, but may like in combination with other stuff
Examples: tomatoes, picklesTier 2: Things I don't normally like, but will eat anyway if they are part of another dish, unless they are too dominant
Examples: sweet corn, hard boiled egg whitesTier 3: Things I will make sure to set aside if they are part of another dish
Examples: cucumbers, most fruitsTier 4: Things that instantly ruin any dish for me if they are part of the ingredients
Examples: ketchup, apples

Thank you! It can be done - one meal at a time
Think long-term too, average things out over a week, 14 days or even a month and anything is possible.
If I can help in any way, just let me know.

I'd give an arm and a leg to lose weight.
Lucky for me I doesn't need to lose weight with my around 65KG and 182CM height.
If I would lose 22% weight it would be really bad for me.

If you would lose that you lose weight for sure, but not the way you want it
