Hi guys,

I just wanted to show you what I'm talking about when I say I changed some things about my game. Almost always in this situation I would call here and chase a draw, now this is the type of situations that I want to avoid.

PokerStars - 100/200 Ante 30 NL (8 max) - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

SB: 4,770 (23.9 bb)
BB: 11,114 (55.6 bb)
UTG: 15,809 (79 bb)
Hero (UTG+1): 37,365 (186.8 bb)
MP: 19,583 (97.9 bb)
CO: 3,891 (19.5 bb)
BTN: 53,569 (267.8 bb)

7 players post ante of 30, SB posts 100, BB posts 200

Pre Flop: (pot: 510) Hero has A♣: K♥:
UTG calls 200, Hero raises to 800, 2 folds, BTN calls 800, SB calls 700, BB calls 600, UTG calls 600

Flop: (4,210, 5 players) J♥: Q♣: 9♦:
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets 4,210, Hero folds, 3 folds

Results: 4,210 pot (0 rake)
Final Board: J♥: Q♣: 9♦:

UTG wins 4,210

Even this is a bounty tournament and he had a nice bounty on him I don't think is ok for me to call here. What do you guys think? Would you call?

Easy fold. He is potting versus four players on flop that easily hits everyones range. I would assume to be versus two pair or straight fairly often so hitting top pair is not that strong.

Weekly update no. 32

Played from 05.06.2023 to 11.06.2023

Hi everyone, :welcome:

Starting last week I made some changes in my overall long time poker goals (2-5 years). I want to invest more time and focus on becoming a better poker player, so my plan is to make an additional $3000 per month from poker, in order to do that I need to study and practice at a different level then I am used to and for that I need help from players way better then me and with proven results. (Raise your edge team)

So my goal is divided in 4 steps:

1. Beat the microstakes MTTs (<$5)
2. Beat the lowstakes MTTs ($5-$19)
3. Beat the midstakes MTTs ($20-$99)
4. Reach and beat the Highstakes ($100 - $215)

* If/When I reach and beat the 4th step we will discuss the HighRollers stakes ( long long time until then :transpire: )

The first step has a deadline. I'm supposed to beat microstakes (<$5) until the end of this year. To beat a stake means to be profitable on a sample of 1000 - 2000 tournaments played in this period, in order to do that I have some steps again :badteeth:

  • I will play minimum 60 tournaments per week ( since I will start win a decent bankroll I will be playing all the regular 8 max -9 max MTTs starting from 18:00 until 23:30 my time) * last tournament that I will register will be at 23:30 max no registration later then that.
  • I won't be playing any satellites just regular MTTs and some on-demand bounty builders MTTs
  • Next day I will analyze every single MTT that I played in the previous day (no exceptions)
  • I'm watching 3 videos of strategy a week and 2 videos of mental preparation a week
  • I will participate in the RYE couching streams
  • I will post the hands that I marked while reviewing them in the forums ( here and in the RYE discord page )

I will be playing poker 6 days a week and 1 day break with no poker at all (I'm able to do that because I have a supportive better half :f_love: ❤️ ), also I will go along with this challenge since this is a big part of my journey. In order to improve starting each week on Monday I'm doing a weekly task list that I need to complete each week, it is a weekly list because it needs to be updated in order to keep up with the day to day life.

Here I will show you an example of what Week 1 (05.06.2023 - 11.06.2023) tasks where:

  • Play 60 tournaments ✔️
  • Analyze all the tournaments played ❌ (since I was gone I couldn't complete this one, but I'm doing it today )
  • Watch 5 poker videos ❌ (I managed to watch only 3 the metal ones I did not)
  • Participate in RYE study ✔️
  • Post hands on the forum ✔️ ❌ (since I haven't reviewed all my tournaments played I did not post all the hand so I get a ❌ for that :f_grin:)

This week I played in total for this challenge 46 tournaments ( on Pokerstars ), I had some min cashes as some of you guys that follow this thread daily/weekly know and I had also a final table finish in the bounty builder $1.10 on Thursday :f_grin: unfortunately I finished only in 6th place.

Also I was hoping for a deep run in the $300 CC Weekly but that tournament finished brutally for me: :spit:

Big fan of your revised plan. It is clear, ambitious and the most important achievable! Good luck in your journey.
Glad to see your revised learning approach. I'll just highlight that GTOWizard helped me tons in my study routine and I will recommend to have at least try one month subscription. Not sure how MTT plays covered there, though

Thank you for your reply. The T$ I got them from My First Completed Bankroll Challenge but I'll give you an exaple how you could win some T$. If you qualify let's say to Sunday Million more then once for each time you qualify you will get the buy-in in T$ (so you get T$109 for each time you qualify after the 1st time)

Weekly update no. 33

Played from 12.06.2023 to 18.06.2023

Hi everyone, :welcome:

Last week was a slow one for this challenge, I played only 43 tournaments and had some small results and also some final tables finishes _grin: Also I won an $11 tournament ticket at some social media quiz on Twitter that I will be using it maybe this week. I have been studying a lot more with RYE and OMG  I have a lot of leaks in my game (mostly post flop and in 3-bet & 4-bet situations ) but I'm working on fixing them. Starting this week I will start a new Metal course in which I will try to understand and develop a better way to stay focus and not get distracted or tilted during my poker sessions.

Especially in this kind of situations: :spit:

Result wise I had some small results during the week and 2 final tables on the CC freerolls on Sunday unfortunately in both I finished 7th.

So this next week the bankroll is:

Played from 12.06.2023 to 18.06.2023

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $1440.43 + T$ 87.64 = $1528.07
Current Bankroll: $1477.50 + T$ 62.29 = $1539.79 +*$11 tournament ticket

Profit from last week: + $11.72

Goal: $10 000

Take care guys and good luck at the tables. :gl:

Weekly update no. 34

Played from 19.06.2023 to 25.06.2023

Hello everyone, :welcome:

Last week I played only 40 tournaments since from Friday to Sunday I was away. I was planning to play on Sunday, ( I registered into the CC $300 weekly but I arrived late and played only few hands before I shoved my remaining 7BB and got out ), but I was too tired and decided to call it a day, and just start fresh this week.

Result wise I had some nice results, and managed to get 12 on a $1.10 Bounty Builder tournament and 2nd in the daily CC freeroll.

Even though I was gone for the weekend I managed to complete my study part of this week and I am on the right track, I'm seeing an improvement in the way I play the game and manage to implement into practice the things I learn daily. :pcuser:

So the bankroll this week is:

Played from 19.06.2023 to 25.06.2023

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $1477.50 + T$ 62.29 = $1539.79
Current Bankroll: $1512.03 + T$38.04 = $1550.07 +*$11 tournament ticket ( Since I was tired on Sunday I did not played this week Sunday Storm _biggrin:)

Profit from last week: + $10.28

Goal: $10 000

Take care guys and good luck at the tables. :gl:

Here are some hands that I played this week. Feel free to give your input on any of them (do you think I played them wrong, right, had good luck, hand bad luck, how would you have played them), any input is most welcomed.

I'm starting with some bad beats (just because we are all unlucky when comes to poker :mdr: )

Weekly update no. 35

Played from 26.06.2023 to 02.07.2023

Hi everyone, :welcome:

Started this challenge 9 month ago and finally I finished those T$1000. Was an up and down journey, but now comes the hard one...turning the $1590 (+ some tournaments tickets ) gain from the T$ into $10000. This week I will play some MicroMillions events along with the regular tournaments that I have scheduled, also the study sessions will continue and since it past almost a month since I made a study weekly schedule I'm starting to see more improvements into my development. I'm starting to limit the mistakes I make, becoming more and more focused at the tables, and my pre-flop and post-flop plays have evolved in a positive way. :f_thumbsup:

Last week I played for this challenge 70 tournaments and the biggest result came from a $0.55 bounty builder where I finished 16th, still sad I did not reached the final table but at least I got 16 bounties before I got eliminated. _biggrin:

On Sunday I was planning to play some events since the MicroMillions started and the Sunday Storm special, but I had a long delayed hangout with some off my friends from college, so I did not played poker at all on Sunday. ( don't play poker when you drink - rule no. 2 )

So this week the bankroll is:

Played from 26.06.2023 to 02.07.2023

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $1512.03 + T$38.04 = $1550.07
Current Bankroll: $1590.62 and an $11 tournament ticket + $1.50 Power Path ticket.

Profit from last week: +2.51

Goal: $10 000

Lets see how long will it take me to get to $10 000. :gl:

Even thought I think I played well, it suck to exit the final table like this... :why:

I had a note on him that he steals 64 % of the hands in late position. Well we move to the next one.
His stats after 67 hands: VPIP 35 PFR 30 Cold Call 21 Flop C-bet 100 3-bet 7 Steal 64

I'm not sure about this one Marius.

Why do you choose to battle the big stack on a final table when 4 ppl are in worse shape than you.
If you didn't had to take in to account that is final table the call is the right thing to do with your A8 but here i'm not sure. Ofc it also matters the payouts structure of the tournament.

But you are getting closer and closer and a win on a final table should come soon. Good luck :f_drink:

Weekly update no. 36

Played from 03.07.2023 to 09.07.2023

Hi everyone, :welcome:

This week I managed to play only 59 tournaments for this challenge, it was a slow week in term of tournaments played, just because my job took most of my time. And the weekly updates will take a break until next month, because I have to go to Switzerland for my work until the end of the month, so I will not play poker regularly, I might play some late night freerolls but that is it (if I can log in there).

The week started really good with me reaching the final table off the $1.10 bounty builder, It is some time since I won a tournament but It will happen again, (maybe this "break" will be good for me to regroup :transpire: ). After that I had some smaller results, but nothing big. At the end of the week I was breaking even, also I've been playing the power path tournaments (I receive a daily $0.50 spin & go for just playing my regular games) and I managed to get to $11 step 3, but I could not reach the Step 4 one.

Here are some results from the past week:

So the bankroll is:

Played from 03.07.2023 to 09.07.2023

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $1590.62
Current Bankroll: $1589.64

Profit from last week: - $0.98

Goal: $10 000

If I get some results from playing while away, I will post them, but I don't think I will have the time to play.

Take care and good luck at the tables. :gl:
