One of my mahjong buddies once heard this joke at his expense when he first tried to lose weight:- I lost about 1 kg of weight so far already.
- Ah, so I guess you finally brushed your teeth...![]()

The next milestones are being < 12 st (that would mean I've lost 4st
And the final milestone is reaching 11st 11, which would mean I've lost the exact weight of my youngest daughter (4st 4lbs) since the beginning.
The first milestone has been reached!
11st 13 (167 lbs /75.75kg) this morning.
I'm regretting not taking any before pictures but cannot go back in time now!

Just put 4st back on an take some snaps.
Certainly easier to put it on than take it off.
That said, I'll live with the regret!
That's to bad, but if that's the only thing you regret in life it's not a big deal I think.

Agree... it's not even in the top 10!
Brick Wall has been well and truly hit on a couple of fronts.
I cannot seem to lose any additional weight - the lowest I've started any day recently was 11st 10 / 164 lbs
I've also hit a wall with cycling - my legs are aching and my body is tired for the last week or so - humidity during this period has been pretty high and probably has not helped my overall fitness levels.
That said, I'm keeping my calorie intake around the 1,500-1,700 daily intake with a few exceptions (meals out on Saturday and Sunday)
I think that transient weight will come off within a few days and I'll solidify around the 11st 10 / 164lbs mark once more.
My holiday is just over 2 weeks away so I think it's time to chill out, recover for the short term, keep my weight below 12st and then come back strong for a month after my holiday and see how it goes.
I'll definitely decrease the cycle days and maybe go once every third day, or at least once every other day in the beginning.
I'm still not thin, never wanted to be thin, but would like to look a little bit better and maybe that joy will come from bulking up via the gym/alternative exercise.
I go to my Doc on Wednesday - when I went in January he asked that I come back in 3 months and update him. Unfortunately, I didn't get a convenient time to catch up with him since. The goal that day was 12st 7 by Sep 2024 so he will be pleasantly shocked when I rock in sub 12st on Wednesday morning! Either that or he'll kill me for going overboard!
He might be able to give me some directions during that visit too.
Hope everyone is well, I haven't been around much lately.
Take care!
Good luck with the doc Wednesday. He will be surprised for sure.
I'm just back of a 2 week holiday in Denmark. Was really fun.

I was there with the car from the Netherlands to there with my father and walked and cycled in the neighborhood.
It was fun and it was nice weather as well. Only 2 days with some rain.

The plateau is your body adjusting to its new normal. Maintain the regime and the adjustment will enter a new phase and continue.
About the cycling — keep you water intake high. In the olden days we used to take salt tablets (I think they had other minerals as well) when working in high heat and high humidity. I don't hear that mentioned any more. Perhaps a pharmacist would know.
I did a search for "salt tablets for runners" and "salt tablets cycling" and found articles for and against.
They're both on the intertubes, so they both must be true.

Solid advice as always.
Haven't cycled since Friday and will continue to abstain for this week unless stiffness subsides. The other issue is my tailbone which is also sore from cycling and probably sitting at my desk 8+ hours a day even more so.
So with that in mind, I'll likely abstain altogether for 10-14 days and maybe until I get back from Greece.
Funnily enough, I was my lightest ever this morning at 11st 9.75, which marked the next milestone of losing the same weight my daughter was in January!
Doctor visit tomorrow. Will see what he says before I formulate the next move.
Would love to reach 11st 7 before the holiday but I thinks that's too much of a stretch now with cycling off the table.

This is an amazon search for tailbone pillow
https://www.amazon.ca/Tailbone-Pillow/s?k=Tailbone+Pillow
My son has used some of these, and swears by them.
I used to use a wheelchair cushion, but the rubber in it broke down. It was helpful — not that I have tailbone issues, but the 8+ hours a day of sitting was definitely causing discomfort.
You might want to check with a bike shop. Your seat position — or the seat itself — may need adjustment.
I'm nobody to give cycling advice though — I can't ride one any more.

And they say "it's like riding a bike" about things you never unlearn...
Or did it simply become physically impossible in your case?

Good shout - ordered!
Will order a memory foam bike seat when I get back from Greece too.
Thanks bud.
In other news 11st 8 this morning (making it a 1.5lb loss in a week where I did not exercise)
Weight loss is a funny creature
Week 1: Cycled 200+kms = stagnant weight
Week 2: Cycled 0kms = lose 1.5 lbs
Variance!

That's funny for sure. Maybe you eat more when you cycled more.
