Hey, guys, got dealt a nasty one for me today. I wouldn't change a thing versus this opponent but I wrote down something about it to shake it off my back.
It's a raised pot, I cbetted flop 1/2 pot, turn another 1/2 pot and river around 75% pot (4$), then got that check-raise.
I had marked this opponent red for a preflop lag while back but he had toned down after getting a deep stack. They sometimes do that. Table had break-up to a heads-up and I had a bit of a rush and had been running over him half a dozen of pots.
He isn't a reg or anything, I think, so there's a chance he cant get out of his 27. Hence that and for being small stakes, I go in for a max value here. Certain players i would do it with 27 but not against somewhat sensible reg. You agree with this line? I was on last fumes after a long week in a last session so my mind was already foggy, I was thinking about min-click-calling it to extract wide as possible value but timer yelled and I shove it. Probably best solution. I think it's obv harder for players to see the danger in this board so clearly as some medium-broadway-cards where players have more pocket pairs and everyone knows it. I block his 44xx combos quite a bit, 22xx as well. Actually 77xx too. He could have A443 with fd easily. Double paired hands too. Pocket sevens which he had is quite rare. He had 7753ds with fd and backdoor-fd. When I block his 44 kombos, its only little more 44xx than 77xx and 22 ofc. If this one was a confirmed thinking opponent, I think he would have popped up the turn with 44 to go for a full deep stack if I have a hand like 52 with overcards. What do think? If this was the case with 44, wouldnt it make the river lean towards calling the check-raise instead of shipping it? Or should i just always ship it no matter what? Putting myself into opponent shoes, should 27 lead here as a kind of pot control and just call the raise, right?
