Palying poker for a living is hard. There are pros and cons, often when we dream we just think about the pros. I know few poker players who have had great career in terms of $$$, but due to poker career they are quite lonely and social life is minimal. They also have physical (and some psychological) problems due to grinding and eating non-healthy.

To overcome those cons it requires discipline, and there are pro players who have good balance of things. But there are also a lot of grinders who sort of sacrifice their well-being for grinding and money. And it creates problems in long run.

The upside is good though. Every poker player I know praises the freedom it creates. Often people think that to become a pro player it just requires good poker skills. I would say that the poker skill is just a tiny bit of it. Without the discipline and understanding of the whole package it will fail.

Yes, making good points.

First five years was to me living the dream, was playing and thinking of poker all the time, loved it. After that steady decline and feels difficult and monotonous to put up with it.

I eat healthy, can't get away with instant food / junk food / restaurants, health decline is just too bad. Alcohol habits just being abnormal, want to basically drink to knock out point and nothing else satisfy really. Have weeks when staying off fully, then days when just drink 1-3 drinks / day for like a week or more but at some point just always want to go get wasted, then recovery takes 2weeks mentally.

That is what causes an chronic stress problem which is way bigger than the stress of any job being it whatever.

So would say that more relevant than what we even do is how we feel and that is just a direct consequence of our habits .

Another few graphs fixed for you. A lot of action in you're blog. Keep the good work.
You can also drag up the picture file in to the post and than the picture will be automatic uploaded.
That could be easier for you.

Thx!

Made an Alias adding all my sites I have tracked on PC. This is maybe 14 months of volume.

Played like 25 hrs live this week (+1500)
Today only day I played online , felt super draining , lost like 6 buy-ins on some set-ups , dry pools most part
Working-out every day , today only day would want to drink bcz played online (feeling the frustration / tilt anxiety etc) I try not to
100bins below EV run fucked me up , confidence and game is good but am more easily just tilting these days and feels much harder putting volume
Might just take break play live...

Nice that it worked. Hopefully you will run online the same way you do live. Maybe the players are live a lot weaker than online and is it tough for you to find soft spots online.

Yea where I play live it plays deep, deep stacks at 2k usd+, should also buy that deep in for max ev but Im mentally not able to handle it and bit short rolled so I buy in like 150-300bb.

Where there is money there is mostly smart people, think it's bit silly overstatement that liveregs are very bad or something (which I see being said online many times) - majority of them also play online and hands with them play like online hands. Some are optimistic with their odds and not so good when some are like as good as me or better (more solid). Why is live poker then good? It's a casino, there comes guys who don't know the rules, can't see that online.

Indeed, but I expect online are enough players that doesn't know the rules ether. Is only less likely they play to high. So far I know you need to invest more money to play on a live cash game than online. NL200 is most of the time the lowest buy-inn so far I know in the Dutch casino's.

Yes, quite a lot of casino poker recreationals I've seen are wealthy people.

Online poker is just way harder. Could never put same hours I can put in playing live poker. Basically if playing online on not the softest sites need to make conscious decision to study a lot and try be the best player of the pools. Otherwise it's more or less of a low winrate struggle. I'm not into sitting infront of pc at the moment, more pleasent to go somewhere and see other people.

Yesterday 12hrs live +1k, run good in some setups but also made some folds I think were good / disciplined. Might be I overthink stuff as an online player and give people credit too much. Trying focus a bit more on playerprofiling more in future than what I should in theory do.

online you have to be more into table starting, which increases variance, prob also has to fight for your ability to have a free seat and wait for recs, will get hit and run more often prob. etc. live that's all probably more convenient and the tables fill up with weaker players quite regularly.

besides the soft players, live is also way better for your own decision-making. no/smaller time bank pressure all the time, the hands get played out slower and you have more time as well and you just play one game. seems to be obvious but i think it still gets too much neglected treatment when playing online

Only did table starting this year after studied heads up. Played heads up with some regs which went well. If not having studied it I would not do any table starting..

Also below 1knl one has pretty decent coverage of games accross sites, dumping tables that aren't good and taking new ones that are good is certainly more +ev than playing with regs and waiting for someone when somewhere you have someone waiting for you already.

But I do get it if not being willing to play many sites same time. Always struggled doing it.

added you to friends .

live poker keeps going good although did spew a bit today.

playing little online lately have not much time .

the things that sucked / bothered me with the outlook of my life basically disappeared after moved to playing live full-time.

also the upside w live poker is getting to meet people and networking . Keeping open mind and making friends with everyone .

So quite happy of things overall , still drink a bit but not to get drunk , adds on calories and disturbs sleep

Havent tried any extreme changes like fully stopping etc. so neither feel any desires to get drunk - basically only day I wanted to do it was when got tilt of online poker

So would not call myself an alcoholic, seeing whole struggle most part coming from pushing myself to grind too hard online

Went to shell today and bought an ice-cream . Did spent time with my cats .

Its all the small things that matter and make my life more content , which I tend to neglect if trying to click buttons online every day all day

Also helping and being available to a friend who goes through divorce

Life is like that , never know what happens tomorrow , have to also do other things than just click buttons online or else its not going to be a very good life

played more live-poker , peak was up like 8keur this month now at +5ke.

perceptions changing , lots of people being rude egoistic tiring company , really difficult environment yet one can certainly make friends there and get perspective & meet people (and make money obviously)

spoke about the problem of drinking , basically goes in phases and the time between getting drunk has gotten shorter over past years yet I hold less delusions towards anything

when it feels like its raining in my head I know already I'm on alcohol withdrawal and had I needed being on a 9-5 job I would just suck it up and let it rain for 5 days till its Friday and drink some drinks

its how a lot of people get on with life , also seen people who dont reset / try reset with drinking but fight non stop are grumpy / very unhappy and also people who are quite content with life and who dont drink to excess / in other words who dont develop a substance related addiction / disorder

To me its still a journey to get to that place but thinking I used to spam random thoughts online when drunk , which means being in a very bad place mentally and now being able to reflect on that behavior and on my problems is a huge milestone .

Appreciating not being ignored / blocked at this platform unlike at 2+2 , which is a platform that only works on affiliate money purposes , saying a harsh word of "GTO coaching" means your on their blacklist etc .

2+2 as a forum is the cancer , real realistic opinions / speech tends to be runned over by some trolls / ignorance of their mods and what remains is just absolute nothing

would have a few words to say of the so called "freedom of speech" but I believe we all can just agree silently its not really something one can realistically have particularly in Europe

Say what you think at any of the news / forums / other social media platforms and they will censor you out like you would be cancer - when as a matter of fact being and independent wealthy smart individual who thinks with his own brain where is the problem?

Its the media and there on its the society that got sick due to the media

To sources who benefit affiliate clicks / likes and block those who give real value / say the truth I say this : You are greedy animals .
