40K Profit Challange Week 9 Update

Profit Start of the Week 9: $4517
Profit End of the Week 9: $3231
Profit for the week: -$1286

Number of games: 275
Hours played: 9.5
GTOWizard wrong plays: 13.38%

# Overview
The week was affected by an unpleasant situation on the job. This translated into confusion and game B/C on the poker tables. At the outcome: 10 cEV for the 275 tourneys and negative results of the week. At some point, I felt like a monkey pressing the buttons. I get this feeling from time to time, where there is no mental capacity, but I still need to cover my game plan at the end of the day.

## Highlights of the week
- Found useful videos on GTOWizard, watched one about "Equity Retention" and was very surprised by the quality of the content. I liked it a lot, and want to dig more in their videos.
- 3 days tour by foot with my wife and dad at the end of the week didn't bring any Leaderboards prices, but instead had a very strong recreational effect.

## Lowlights of the week
- Negative results of the week, obviously. Not the most pleasant thing to report on. Need to double down on studying.
- Too many sessions were played just before going to bed so the quality of sleep was affected.
- I have doubts about my ability to complete a challenge in 2023, unless I hit and win bit multiplier it looks not promising at all. 9 weeks, +3K, $300 / week won't bring me where I would like to be by the end of the year.

Hey mate! How do you study away from the tables? You seem to be occasionally stating, how much you deviated from GTO. Why is that? Nobody is playing GTO even at the higher stakes.

Hey hey,
My usual study routine includes:
1. playing the session
2. Uploading all hands from PT4 to GTOWizard
3. Going through the biggest EV losing spots according to GTOWizard, ranges optimal actions and my actions.
4. Coaching sessions to add more ways to analyze my game and find leaks

Though it is true, that GTO is not strictly followed by other players, to understand how to deviate from it one should first understand what GTO lines and frequencies are, where other players deviate, and how to exploit this deviation in own strategy. I'm still not there, preflop is more-or-less good, but post-flop suffers from missed bluffs, missed value bets, and wrong sizes.

40K Profit Challange Week 10 Update

Profit Start of the Week 10: $3231
Profit End of the Week 10: $1197
Profit for the week: -$2034

Number of games: 275

This is one of these weeks when I had a bad start and didn't even have the energy and will to play further to recover. I'm considering moving dwn the stakes to gain some confidence and get the volume back.

Profit for the week: -$1740

Not happy about the results at all. Heading in the wrong direction. I played very little this week, but the obvious downtrend continues and I won't be playing 100s next week anymore. I will actually play not much at all next week as we are going into Camino de Santiago on Thursday which will last for 11 days, so will have a break from everything to reconsider my priorities and have a good rest.

.

We are going on the Portuguese path, starting from Porto. This path's total length is 280km, plan to cover 25-35km each day. We'll see how it will go, I hope there won't be a need to take a bus or train to make it on time.

Had the first day with a positive result +59$ today after long run of negative days (6). And that is running massively above EV line. Something very terrible happening on the tables :f_cry: Time off is very much needed...

Variance of the format is high. How big of a sample you have in to evaluate your edge? Even solid winners likely have quite low roi percents and then there is another factor of bigger multiplayer games and how one happen to perform in those.

In 100$ bin level there is probably quite tough field as well. Depending how much recreational players these games get.

True that, variance of the format is enormous. My sample of all games in 888 is around 10K, the smallest chipEV is on 100s limit, that is expected (21 per tourney). And the biggest negative deviation as well on this limit. This defines my sad results this month (around -4K).

The feeling is that the field got better in the recent month, or may be it is my perception due to the bad run, but EV dropped a lot - this is fact.

40K Profit Challange Week 14 Update

Profit End of the Week 14: $-988
Profit for the week: -$340

Number of games: 324

The first week after our Camino journey.

Downstreak is quite obvious - running below EV line heavily on 20s limit and getting less big multipliers than expected. Playing ok, EV is ok, but final results are :f_frown::f_frown::f_frown:

10s limit is not much better:

Due to the negative variance and red results losing any motivation to play more, going to put poker down on my priority list and focus more on work that brings more satisfaction.

Yeah, bad run does do that to you. I've occasionally wondered if all regs suddenly studied my stats and now exploiting me to fuck, but at the end it always turned out to be variance.
