I'm really rusty with tournaments, mix that with some bad luck and you've got a bad recipe. Lost a 75% to a 25% as shown below and the rest went downhill from there. I'll stick to cash games where I'm profitable but the SCOOP is too good to pass up.

Yep, I lost this hand.

Nice little short 1 hour of playing and figured this was an okay day for today while I slowly build the bankroll back up to the usual stacks of NL10. The target will be $200 before I move to NL10. I really feel like bumping my bankroll back up but I much prefer to not do that and build it all entirely from the initial deposit like last time.

Winnings: +$5.62
Bankroll: $60.34

Hey man good to see you are back with a fresh start! I also had to take a break but I continued my struggle recently. Starting from the ground up again? It takes a lot of time and effort but it's also about improving and having fun in the process right? How far did you end in the SCOOP? Anyway good to see you are back. It's been a while, don't forget to say hi when you're back! :f_drink:

I busted in the SCOOP. I’m really not a tournament player whatsoever. Very different to cash. I think I’m going to improve my skills and hit the live casinos instead. It’s very hard online and the casinos are full of people who are there just for fun!

Good to hear you’re back also! :)
Be sure to private message and we can add eachother on discord or something! Would love to hear your progress

Hey Liam, ever thought about giving coaching a go? I remember you at 2NL on Stars in May last year. I've built a bankroll for 5NL now and was wondering about getting some coaching from you for 5NL and 10NL, including what you'd charge for it.

Hey all,
Sorry I haven't updated this for a while, I was enjoying my summer poker free :) I have been playing when I can but not religiously.
I've been grinding slowly and now winter is here, I intend to invest more hours and maybe find some poker coaching to push myself into NL25, once I have an adequate bankroll.

As shown here, the path along NL5 has been very steady, I'm glad all the lessons I've learnt have remained after a long break. For full transpency as I've missed alot of updates, here is a list of all my sessions up till this point, since my last post!

Winnings: +$59.33
Bankroll: $139.77

I shall go back to regular session-to-session updates :) Thanks for those who are reading!! Please drop a message :)

Having a lot of good sessions lately and my main aim to make sure I've remembered all the lessons I've accumulated from the start of this challenge last year. $50 more and I'll have 20BB's and I'm happy that will be enough to move to NL10.

Hand Analysis
Perfect time where the odds were good enough to go for pocket 9s. I knew he had AA or KK

I made an unlucky decision in the game where I went all in with QQ post flop V AA. The flop was very dry and in hindsight, only trips or higher PP's than my QQ were calling but a shimmer of hope was hoping someone would have 10 10, JJ, 99 etc as they were all lower than 7. I was already pot committed pre flop and I shouldn't have put myself in that situation. Badly played but I got lucky by hitting a Q on the river to save myself - for a chop pot.

Terrible session today but knew it was just dead hands, so I rode it out until I got profit again. I prevailed but going to take a break for a week or so now.

One of those really lucky days where I clean out the fishes within the first 28 hands of the day. There really isnt much point staying to grind longer. I did get caught up with set v set and mine was weaker but honestly, it was a situation where I was hoping he hit his flush as a full house hit the table for both of us. I would make the same decision everytime in my opinion.

I think I have enough bankroll to try out NL10 again, and I think I'm going to fall back to NL5 if absolutely needed and a run of dead cards comes around but so far, so good.

I've hit the milestone of having the highest profit again, after a long series of bad luck (mixed in with tilting a lot because of said bad luck) but my head is back into the game and playing more rationally. I have definitely took time to focus on my mental outlook of the game because it was a big hinderance of mine. Here is the overall progress since the start of this poker journey (consider the fact I cashed out last christmas, due to financial struggles that wasn't gambling related haha).

I'm thinking about getting new poker software, I'm currently using Holdem Manager 3 but its very confusing to use and not Mac friendly. I want to try Poker Co Pilot, has anyone got any views and opinions on this? I've already paid for HM3 but my support has ran out and I cant update the software anymore.

Could have walked away with more profit here, but I decided to mix up my play a bit more as I didn't want to be predictable and tried guessing their hands, made a few mistakes along that route but ultimately it did work out for the best.

Another good session at NL10 and I'm happy overall.

Not sure why statname says I have much less profit than I have, absolutely very certain I'm on a bigger winner streak than this :f_frown:

Started off great, got up to $35 but then I hit lots of dead cards again, it happens and reduced my loses as shown, it was just a slow lose of chips. my range was probably too wide a little but nevermind. Still walked with a small profit

The amount of bad luck I had in this game is unreal. Some of it was attributed to tilting a little bit but overall, I kept calm and collect, which I'm happy about. Quite clearly you can see I made good decisions for the best part and to be honest, this was needed to refine my range and play a little tighter but more aggressive.

Still going to give NL10 a crack because I know this was just an unusual bad streak as always. Some of the hands were unreal. Like someone getting a runner runner flush after I put them all in after the flop, i had a 95% chance of winning...

I have some real life to sort out, but I'll be back with NL10 again soon :)

Really think it was down to variance in my opinion. But maybe. I’m going to get back into studying before I go back to NL10 - that’s for sure.

How you been doing?
