Might be still best to shove but I doubt its really that much better EV wise. Like sure I dont mind to shove bit over 20bb deep obviously but over 30bb and no antes seems pretty marginal. Especially if opponent has both limp and minraise range from beginning making raise range somewhat stronger. Do you only shove 22-77 or have also some AQo type perhaps?
Posted some interesting omaha cash spots on hand analyze area. Lot of spots to bluff today...
Anyway I am not bluffing always. This one felt pretty great versus very high VPIP opponent. Such perfect spot to slowplay on flop ![]()
Would have folded pre without BB cold call btw.

This was good example on advantage of going for non AA 4bets. Well gto wise those kind of hands villain had are squeezing but I think that one has too many holes. At least I would not squeeze with that. But yeah if we only have AA when 4betting those kind of hands are doing lot better. BU stack off is just absurd though as his hand does really really bad versus AA.

When opponent doesnt really understand his relative hand strength. Funny thing is I would likely just check back flop in his shoes. Especially when he has two bdfd there is not much need to protect his hand. Getting raised is nasty as hand has low chance to improve to nuts. His line versus my raise is just pure money burning.

I shove 22-99, and plenty of Ax hands as a standard.
Vs some opponents I 3bs TT as well at 25 BBs, but as a standard I 3b nai TT+
Ax hands I don't 3b nai, as people will make a lot of mistakes vs 3bs. And spew factor plays a huge role here.
Another thing, it's very hard to realize your equity OOP, and especially when SPR is pretty low, so just 3bs plenty of hands (even some suited connectors in theory) and you'll make your game tree and also life easier. And your EV will be better as well.
But again, I am not familiar with 33 BB play. So not sure.
What I've said applies to 25 BB poker. I've used to play HU SnG's for many years. Made it from 1.5 USD to 30 USD quite a while ago ♦
And game has changed quite drastically since then... It's been about 10 years or so LOL.
Funny thing is I would likely just check back flop in his shoes.
Not funny cause i think that check back is a good play when you have those bdfd and holding a pair.
I think there are no huge changes between 25bb and 35bb HU pre play with small pocket pairs and 3bs is best option. Just when we deeper then 3bs fewer Ax
Some HU action from yesterday. I suppose hand villain had is probably too weak even for HU to open. Well open raise range is damn wide like 80% so might still make it.
Flop is not that great for 3bet range and my hand is not doing that hot versus stack off range. Still we have stuff going on so went for x-c. Turn I were pretty thrilled to get it in as this guy had shown tendency to barrel quite merged. Though yeah this time he had lot of components to support his weakish two pairs so likely ok turn barrel.

This was earlier versus same guy. Would not advice to 3bet hands like these preflop. Just fold from SB in high rake game at least. Flop cbet fine but on turn I would just pot. River is tricky in his shoes. SPR is only 0.5 but am I really calling weaker often enough? Its really hard to have bluffs on his shoes I would say. That said its not nice to x-c either so I dont know if bet or x-c is worse. X-f might still be best option.

Some smaller pots then. In this one decided to cbet having A and J♣:. SB was also calling way too wide so his range is lot weaker than it should be.
Was thinking of barreling turn but only one straight blocker versus two felt quite optimistic.
River SB leads very small. I doubt my showdown value is enough to call but this looked a lot like something less than boat to me that wants to evade big bet. Usually people also dont balance these block bets with premium (e.g. boats in this case). My line for raise is very believable especially versus two. So I can have lot of AA, QQ, AT, QT. Some TT or 55 as well. Though I think raising 55 might be actually too thin. But all of those other boats listed I would be happy to raise. So blocking the AT and AA I decided to bluff.
We might get called by straight but that ok. At least we get some reads if that happen ![]()

This one went MP limp, BU open, SB call, I call and MP call. Flop goes checked, Turn I lead half pot. River SB makes this small lead. Tough to get called so went for kind of small sizing. Though I could see potting and hoping to get called by boat being better as well. But there is imo high chance of even boat folding to pot raise.

Dont really like this river play. I dont mind checking as there are ton of busted draws but when villain uses this sizing I think its almost mandatory to raise 2nd nuts. So just calling is quite weak imo. Well this guy had seemed pretty tight on bluffing etc. and often these guys dont necessarily expect bluffs so value of raise could be quite thin. Still this sizing is rarely nuts.
Not sure what the heck was I thinking... Well think more for next time!

Well it wasnt just smooth sailing yesterday. Actually kind of nasty day in a way. PLO50 went nice but in PLO25 had ton of spots where people overplayed some hands preflop and got in on flop with 30% equity to suck out. Stuff like 4betting KJT9ss or 3bet-calling JT97 monotone etc. Would not be surprised if EV was like 10 bin above result in PLO25. But better to run bad on smaller stake as silver lining and day was still on profit in the end.
This was actually spot where I really wanted to fold as this guy had been passive and when these guys go pot, pot they very often have it. Buuuut my hand makes sort of the best bluff catcher possible so going as far as folding this would be extremely exploitative approach. Still I would have been overfolding a lot. Anyway thanks for minraising pre ![]()

On the AK97ds, I wouldn't say cooler as opponent 3bet woth 4432. Got what he was asking for. He didn't over value blockers, he just got the money in with oesd. Player who doesn't care for math. There's quite many of them.
When I was dealing poker in pub games, there once was preflop allin KK vs A9. The players were wondering who was favorite. Half of the table was sure that A9 was favorite, as "if an Ace comes, he wins". Those same players play online poker every now and then.
On the "I smell something fishy", grats for unlocking intuition. When you get that feeling, make a hero call, make mental note whether you were right or wrong. For me, I have learned to trust that intuition, as it's right about 9/10 times. It's your subconscious mind doing the work. And if it does the correct estimation, it's quite valuable assett.
Well yeah tough to say what opponent logic is exactly on flop in AK97ds hand. Could be combination of both. I think more interesting is indeed preflop decision. My comment on that was just pure sarcasm. But if trying to find logic behind that sort of play it could be perhaps seeing someone 3bet hand like QQJT in some YT video --> 4432 being sort of similar hand so why not 3bet? Or could be more simply case of getting bored or perhaps I had been open raising a lot and he decided to punish me. Who knows.
But its sort of funky sometimes when you see someone playing tight and then they suddenly go bananas with some total trash. Especially when it happens without losing some big pot in previous hand. Might be logic from holdem side of having polarized 3betting range.
Oh man I just run into these spots versus this guy. Felt like very reasonable combo to go for this line or what you guys think? 32€ behind on river in effective stacks.

Have been watching this series called "Eurooppa ilmasta käsin" (Europe from air view) and that has inspired motivation for some form of car trip. So could be interesting to visit some of the middle Europe countries like Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, etc. So as I live in sort of northern Finland in Oulu it does bring few options. One is to go bit north and drive eastern coast of Sweden to Denmark. Other one could be to drive into Helsinki or Turku and use ship to get to Stockholm.
From Denmark it would then be sort of open field to think about some loop. Have not thought yet much where to visit but I think this sort of trip would require like 3 weeks time frame to actually have time to check out places. Idea would be to go for this next spring or summer. I suppose decent budget option would be to take tent to not have to use hotels all the time. Did check some camper options but those tend to be quite expensive as well for several week period. Well probably prices are highest during those summer months.
Well will think about this and see what comes from it.
Not sure if you should bet the river on that Q655 hand. You are trying to make him fold better Q or overpair? They are quite similar in relative strength. It's a nasty spot, as we should estimate how often he folds a better hand. Breakeven number is 40%. In short, it means he would need to fold at least half of his Q+ hands.
I would not be bluffing with hand like AQ54 as Q with good kicker has good amount of showdown value. But at same time Q is very strong blocker to strong hands like QQ or QT. So I think Q with weaker kicker not blocking overpairs become fairly good bluff combo.
