there is a change that a player runs lucky his whole life,

this change is ofcourse very low but it is possible,

there are a lot of people who starts to play poker,

so the change there is one that runs lucky a life time long is much more probible.

you're talking about Phil Hellmuth imo

im just a beginner with some thoughts, is he realy the one i was descibing? Where can i find some of his games?

what he means is that hellmuth has just been very lucky. you can't learn to be lucky, you have to try to get good, like other palyers.

What nick do you play with Hoffee?

LAG style is better for MTTs...

especially when you are playing with bad opponents...

well, i think more than 50% of the people who play poker online figured out that there is no such thing as POKER STRATEGY.. I took the quiz, I actually learn a lot from here, but I saw the benefits only in real life..
Its a waste of time to discuss again about rigged poker rooms online.. U may apply all the tricks, tips and strategies here.. but still, if u have the bad luck to be choosed by the software as ''the unlucky user that must make the rake higher''.. oh well.. no strategies in the world cannot save u from los\ing the hand.. Its pretty obivious that when at a table with 7-9 people, 5 of them have 90% of winning, things gets very weird..
Like I said, I applyed the Poker strategy lesson in real life and it works.. I applied it in online poker, and pissed me off and made me quit poker.. All the discussion about management and stragies in poker should be made only for the real life poker, not online poker..

The answer is some of the strategies are rake generating oriented rather then profit oriented. So the strategies are much for grinders then for players. I.e. that short stack algorithm making people bots.

I'm a believer in learning the game by playing the game. I'm not saying there aren't a lot of great resources around to help players improve their games or that poker books and tutorials don't have their place. They do. However, the problem I see with people who rely on these kinds of aids is that they end up playing poker like someone else or - even worse - like everyone else.

Nice one :f_thumbsup:

Actually the ICM for SnGs and the SSS are quite similar in a way I guess and what is myunderstanding of playing poker I like differs from what those strategies offer (like look at the chart or learn it and do what it tells you to do) .. But that is just a question of preference .. Also sometimes I am not cofortable with the playing style played for example by hasenbraten in his vids .. I really enjoy watching it and have a lot of respect for him .. I just think that playing someone else's style (no matter how good he is) will not bring success and mostly good feelings ..

To be able to fully play the other player's style, you would have to know what he is thinking in any given situation, which is not easily done =)

I think you may have a natural ability in the game from being able to subconciously absord scenarios from previous play. Stick to this site though, I am sure it will improve your game one way or another.

Poker is a game of adjustments to your opponents. If you adjust perfectly you can beat the top pros. Because that is what poker is all about.

However it can be hard to adjust to unknowns since you dont know how they are playing and therefore a strategy is usefull however you dont need to know exactly what to do and when and what the name of the strategy is.

You will develop your own strategy when gaining experience and far from all winning poker players are using pokerstrategy.com and have manages to maintain their own strategy!

Also adjusting to opponents even against known players can be realy hard :) GL i belive you make less mistakes than your opponents and that is why you are winning because making the fewer mistakes is what poker is all about!!!

I find you don't want to adjust yourself to thier game rather you want to train the other players to adjust to your game. This takes care of adjusting to unknowns. Tis is of course put very simply.

I doubt you can win 11 wsop bracelets by just "getting lucky"...

I'm not quite sure about that because I'm no SnG player but I think even 700 games is no sample size?

700 isn't enough to get a precise ROI but if he's running at +10% that's definitely a good sign.

As mentioned above you probably do understand that concepts but don't know the terms used. I figure as long as you make logical decisions you should come out ahead, on low limits anyway. What limits are you playing?
