I used to play full ring limit but there no more of those games around anymore, so i am adjusting to playing 6 max limit. I have got 5434 hands in after 2 weeks of play at a win rate of 1.41 bb/100 playing 2c/4c fixed limit 6 max.
How many hands should i be aiming for before i know for sure that i am a winning player before moving up. I will report back after 10k hands played.
As old FL veteran I will follow this. I played Full Ring FL 10 seats multitabling maximum amount of tables until all pokerrooms changed they RB rules to be worse for TAG-type of players. I played some time FL 6-max tables but didn't enjoy it so I moved to PLO.
Hi Muscledude,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com ![]()
I only play FL as part of HORSE and 8-Game, so I can't say from experience. 10K hands is good, 100K is better.
Always keep variance in mind...

All the best,

I think it's always hard to tell itf you are a winning player on a limit on the long run, because you need a huge sample to have to exclude variance.
I would always move up when I have enough buy-inns to move up the limit. Most of the time 30 buy-inns of the new limit is enough I think to take a shot and than you move down if you have 20 buy-inns left.
Cheers,

Well i have had a few replies so i will try and address them in turn.
Khiiniau i like you did not enjoy 6 max as i was working and could not devote as much time to the game that i wanted but i am probably going to be retired and so can re-focus.
VorpalF2F I agree 100k hands is better and will have that in by year end.
SDK1987 I do not concur with your buy in idea i always thought fixed limit was about Bankroll and the number of Big Bets you have as part of any bankroll and with 6 max you need a bigger bankroll than full ring because of variance i was thinking 1250 BB for any limit as a bankroll for 6 max.
I do have a working idea for moving up though and will share later.
I'm not to familiar with bankroll management in FL games, but 1250 big bets seems big enough for sure
Well folks just taking some timeout from the poker for most of one day as i hit a bad day yesterday with maniacs and bad variance and probably some bad play mixed in. I am making some progress though i have now played 8328 hands and my win rate is 0.91BB/100 i want to aim for a better win rate so now its to do some graft on the strategy here i like the quiz's and articles they are very good.
I still. plan on reporting progress at 10,000 hands played and every 5,000 after that until i have 100k hands in at this level. My long term plan is to make enough at the tables plus loyalty to get my deposit back and have 1250BB for 5c/10c so i am then freerolling.
I should report back by Tuesday at latest.
Well i have now played 10,007 hands at a win rate of 0.82BB/100. I am going to do the quizzes again and look at my poker tracker for weaknesses any help in this area is most welcome. I have a number of tickets for sng's so i will use those and see if they earn me anything. I am on track to play 100k hands by end of year hopefully more. I will now report back after 15k hands played.
id say 10k if you cant be profitable at 2c/4c after that then you are not a winning player.
I am rooting for you. its so rare to see FL games nowadays, I used to be the 5th biggest winner at my stake 10 years ago
I miss those times. FL is always gonna be my first love in poker.
Hi, Avataren
10k used to be the number I used to use when I was working to move up the limits quickly, but as I am not working now and have no income I have plenty of time, although I do have assets to survive on until I get my state pension in 4 yrs time.
I put £100 deposit on stars and have cashed £75 of that back off when I have made more I will withdraw the other £25 and that when I have made $100 from whatever means I will move up to 5c/10c and be freerolling.
Not sure what you think of this idea but not many players playing need the yanks back.
It's so interesting, looks like after Black Friday, PokerStars is the only cardroom that offers FLHE for Europeans? Am I correct?
I have no idea Taavi1337 but it would be nice to know if other poker rooms do FLHE.
I haven't found a single legally supported one other than PokerStars for FLHE cashgames, 888 used to offer it years ago but I don't go there anymore cause our government bans that site. When I was younger, I simply changed the DNS of my computer and bypassed the government, but nowadays I wish to be more social and understandable.
