HOT STUFF is nothing for the little ones like Lemmy! So, our gardening king 2024, Lemmy, has the honor to plant the sweet peppers!
We got five different varieties of sweet pepper, one, Pimientos de Padron, is a bit spicy.

The early salads
Let´s already think about spring! Because in spring you can already harvest the early salads here (I sow the plants early, because I live, in an especially warm region of Germany).
Larry volonteered to plant the salads 
We ordered a set of 14 different salad varieties! Yumm! So, let´s plant the early ones!
This one is the "cool plate" because those salads need cool temperatures to germinate! So I put that one in a cooler place while the peppers need warm temperatures.
We got:

*Lettuce
*Turnip greens (not sure if this is the correct english word for "Stielmus")

Well, the tops of turnips are called turnip greens, but we have several different vegetables that are referred to as "turnips".
If I use google translate, for turnip greens, I get "Rübengrün"

Okay, I see: "turnip green" was the wrong word. This salad has nothing to do with the vegetable "turnip". In German the salad is called "Stielmus" or "Rübstiel".

Well, I'm glad that the "Troll family" is back together. 
Meanwhile, you guys may be glad that you didn't find any whine-posts from me.
You may not know what I am talking about, but Prim surely does. I mentioned how the few games I played so far went pretty poorly. It's one of the unique mental game challenges of low traffic games which have at most one game running per day - a seven game losing streak lasts a full week, not just a couple of hours. Without going into too much detail, the games left much more of a mental impact on me than they had any right to. For that reason, I did not play anything else so far and instead mostly focused my energy on creative projects this weekend.
I think it is more than a mental game issue for me - it's a mental issue in general. We all have our unique experiences, and different stimuli lead to different reactions, some more rational than others. I never cared for psychology, but I need to sort these things out, and not just for the sake of my game. Once I'm done, and I don't expect this to take any longer than a couple of days, we should be back at the tables. Hopefully with something more than just Badugi too, but it would be a start either way.
It will all work out eventually, I'm sure. Meanwhile, welcome back, Prim.

So I took a bit of a hiatus from poker, also from the forum. There were several days where I thought I might play in the evening, but ended up not doing it. I did play a little on Sunday, sadly still no cashes. Primrose, however, got a very impressive double victory in her tennis matches that day, despite being up against higher rated opponents. 
I think she intends to grind some freerolls and possibly some other tourneys this weekend, let's see if she will be as successful there as she was on the tennis court.
I will keep you guys posted when I have my first decent MTT cashes of the year too, of course.
Yes, Trollette open last Sunday was successful: two victories against better ranked Trollettes, interesting, nice games, good atmosphere there, big fun! But unfortunately, I didn´t only win two tennis matches and a better ranking, however, somehow, I also "won" a virus! :facepalm::rage: Yes, I caught a virus there and spent some time on the "throne" on Monday and yesterday... 
At the moment, I´m taking some rest, recovering and hopefully, I´ll be back soon at the tables .........
My poker profits recently, or so it seems:
While I have only been playing a handful of games since then (twelve MTTs, to be exact, according to my spreadsheets), I am still waiting for my first cash since December 9th. Lack of motivation and lack of success can lead to a vicious cycle. Well, I've been there before, I expect we all have been.
Still, I decided to drop the Stud Hi-Lo games for now and instead focus on only a few MTTs at fixed grinding times starting at shortly past 9PM. Badugi will be included, of course, where I have at least had a somewhat promising run last night, though still without cashes or bounties. Another game to be added will be PLO8, which has a $2.20 Turbo around that time. I doubt that it will establish itself in the grind, but it should be a nice change of pace for now, which may even teach me some concepts to be applied in other forms of poker too.
I seem to have caught a bit of a cold, so the exercise schedule will be on hold for a few days anyway. Should be an excellent time to focus a little more on poker.

Back at the tables, guys! I´m finally back! And my today´s session was almost exactly as successfull as my "Trollette Open". Baby Peach played PLO, it was only PLO today and we managed to win a 0,55 $ satty ticket in the "Free to play" PLO!!

And we played a 0,33 $ PLO MTT (15 $ Gtd.) and managed not only to get ITM or get to the FT, no, WE WON THAT THING!!!
So, Prim can not only win "Trollette Open" but also PLO tournaments! :f_biggrin::f_ugly:
Hand of the day
Another heads-up finish, though with not much in the way of bounties. Still, a great run, after barely making it to the final table. The exit hand was a big cooler too.
After a bad start into the year, I think we have now received the push we need. With poker finally rolling again, now all that's left to do in the next couple of days is to finish recovering from the sniffles so I can get back to the sports and exercise schedule too.

Speaking of gardening .... yes, we indeed plan vertical farming on our terrace this year. We already bought two shelves, on which we will put plenty of pots with mini-veggies and mini-strawberries. Let´s see how that will work out ...

Kusburnu
Kusburnu is a pretty hot, very sweet tasty pepper. It´s a dwarf-chili, which I already had planted about 2 years ago. It´s a spicy little one with 30.000-50.000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
"Gelbes Rüsselchen" (Little yellow trunk)
To be honest: I do not know anything about this pepper. I think that one should be in the spicy-group, I still had some old seeds left, and decided to use them up before they loose their ability to germinate. So, here we go: They still germinate and I got even TWO of them. Let´s see what they will be like.
Bhut Jolokia ("ghost pepper")
Well that´s REALLY HOT STUFF! Bhut Jolokia belongs to the hottest chilis in the world with about 1 Million SHU!!! 
Jalapeno
Well, Jalapeno is a classic one! Another old set of seeds which have to be used up and a little Jalapeno it´s germinating!

Well, as the name says: Sweet Julie is a sweet pepper. On the right side of the pic: Piccante a Mazzetti - old seeds, still germinate, should be a spicy little dwarf-chili.

"Stielmus" (of which we don´t know the English word)
It´s a very old salad species and you can either eat it raw or cook it like kale. Really excited about this salad. It´s an early one and can already be transferred to the field in March.
Lettuce
Looked up in the dictionnary what "Schnittsalat" (can be translated as "salad to cut") means and the dictionnary said it´s "lettuce". Well okay, let´s call that one just "lettuce"... :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:

Well, seems like we have more German words for different salads than in English: This one is also "lettuce" but of a different kind. We call it "Kopfsalat".

Strawberries!
LOTS AND LOTS of strawberries - because we love them!! As Iggy Koopa seems to be a skilled gardener (according to his world in Super Mario Bros), I decided to let him take care of the strawberries.
Herbs, herbs, herbs!
Some herbs I use to pre-cultivate, some I sow directly on the field. But who else could be more successful in growing herbs than a REAL witch aka Magikoopa? That´s definitely for Kamek!
Leek n onions!
I pre-cultivate the leek, but we will sow the green- and red onions directly on the field! Should be an easy task! Roy Koopa can´t do anything wrong - except for shooting bomber bills on them. :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:
Cabbage family
Oh oh oh! That´s new! And that´s not gonna be easy. Species of the cabbage family (except for "Kohlrabi") are the ultimate "divas". You really have to take good care of them. You have to be smart about them! That´s for Ludwig van Koopa!
The cauliflowers are sown - two kinds: "Snowball" (an early one) and Romanesco. Later in summer, we will plant winter cauliflower (a purple one). The other ones will come later. The pre-cultivating of Brussel sprouts will start in May, "Kohlrabi" will be sown directly on the field (in April), same goes for the palm cabbage, which will be sown directly in June. Not sure if we´re going to plant kale this year but let´s see.....

The next door neighbour came into our garden and took a leek.
Left the onions alone, though...
