Yes, like really small games, smaller than Steam games
10-day break over in online poker, got some rest and changed the direction of the gamedev business towards "more educational". Will start playing online poker tomorrow again, will move up to NLHE 0.01€/0.02€ cashgame (€2 buy-in) , as the risk of "going broke/letting family down completely" is eliminated. Is super nice challenge for me and the rakeback looks beautiful on these higher stakes.
Played NLHE2 today as planned, is a bit too high stakes for me still, as money matters here for me (I can actually use the money won here). Up like +0.45€ in 13 minutes, then I quit, feeling the stakes being still too high to go fully into that game. I love the experience, but NLHE is also a bit unknown to me (less than 100k hands I think over the scope of ~15 years), so a bit too much unknown at once at a bit too high stakes. But yeah there are good ways to reduce the risk elsewhere, so tomorrow I will be back probably with short shot to these stakes again. Looks like really profitable game, especially if I could master the heads-up part/heads-up battles.
High school looked like a prison to me, I'm.... I'm really grateful to you guys, that I can do this. Online poker career really is a thing for me and it turns out, after getting sober, that I'm on a trip with poker money for the last 12 years or something... yea i pretty much put it all in travelling, all the $20,000 or something... haven't regretted anything, beautiful beautiful experiences in new places. Ready to build a new roll now
Kids are so much fun I will give my 2021 year HP computer to them, they currently play Diablo II there daily and buy new laptop soon in a year or something, as Microsoft doesn't support that model with Windows 11 well. So yea new laptop with Windows 11 sounds such good idea and they aren't expensive if I look only for business/poker, not excessive graphical gaming, here they sell good ones starting from €300 to €500, good goal to get one soon in about a year.
+3€ in Stars with free T$ in less than one hour, playing three $0.5 to $1 SnGs. Again felt like NLHE2 is too much for me at the moment, those lower SnGs are soft man. Really happy that I didn't have to invest my own money, the variance is huge
+7€ with free T$ in 30 minutes, playing mostly $1 SnGs. Now the T$ is almost finished, only T$0.25 left. Up like +$27 with free T$20 in total. Really good practice to learn SnGs and small tourneys.
This month up like +18€, the ideal result is simply to cover the hosting costs of the gamedev business website (-10€/month), but I'm happy with smaller winnings also, +5€/month is already nice.
Used the final T$0.25 in a 3man SpnG, managed to win it for +$0.50 in 10 minutes. This is it for the T$ challenge, out of T$. Will have to think a bit about career again, found that the good old buddhist meditations + guru's advice is really helpful in this area. Stars roll is now $34 instead of $4, will have to wrap it up and find some sort of middle way. For some people this money is extremely small, like, "why am I not +$2k daily", some other people prefer me to support them instead of focusing on solo career. Will make a coaching video soon about this, I already made that for locals.
Here's the correct definition of karma in poker:
"The real victory is hidden. Outplaying the other player is the real victory. The maximum edge (positive difference) vs the opponent's playstyle is the real victory. The winner will feel good because of karma, and the loser will feel bad because of karma."
-0.20€ today as played one SnG and lost. Watched a really good online poker coaching video. I think first losing day in over like a month or so (didn't play much this month). Up still +18,4 € this month in online poker. Summer is coming and I need to pay the yearly gamedev business website hosting rent in June which is -122€, other than that, things are awesome. Yeah I started that business like a year ago and I really love it, working as solo gamedev, also real gamedev educational workshops for children from this September. Take care all!
Beautiful beautiful rest as +19,01€ in May in online poker. Moving to gamedev/gaming only with life and career.
Took a shot at NL2, stakes got a bit too high again though. I opened CO with QJs, BB calls. Flop QTxhh, I bet like 60%, he calls. Turn blank, I bet like 75% of pot, he overjams whole full stack like 9x the pot. I think for a while and call, thinking he would have checkraised strong hands on flop on this a bit draw-heavy board. He shows 8h6h flushdraw and has like 20% equity on turn. River blanks and I win like +1,67€ in 5 minutes. The thing with NL2 is, it is like 10x my current stakes, 0.20€ SnGs.
I would stay directly with NL2 and not go back to those 25 cent games. You already make very good reads like in that Queen Jack Hand. That was an impressive call.
♠_thumbsup:Great, I'm a video game developer. I had a friend in high school who was into it, and he ended up developing a kind of Dumm platform, something like that.
A lot of computers, I imagine.
How do you divide your time between developing and playing poker?
Saludos!

Not much online poker gameplay in June I think, as children are off school and I will play with them and gamedev in countryside house. Looking at last year, I put in an impressive 13 hours of online poker in June 2024 before switching sites to more local site, 13 hours of gameplay for June looks super enthusiastic. I must have been in really good mood, also launching the business in that month a year ago. This June, let me check, the children's gamedev is so strong and influencing the local area, the only thing that could go wrong is that I get bored. But I will keep the poker coaching subscription and aim for July/August/unknown, as the deadline of the complete shift of the gamedev business is getting near - I no longer have to dev games even, I can just teach children how to dev games as my full time job. Such a shift in business, year ago when I started the aim was completely on solo gamedev, but now I found a good client and started to love the idea of just teaching gamedev to children. Those workshops will start in September in nearby youth center... oh dear... now that I promised I have to show up there as a teacher
Moving down to 1000x Buy-In Bankroll Management, this means currently:
0.10€ SnGs as poker bankroll is 143€
0.20€ SnGs when poker bankroll is 200€
0.50€ SnGs when poker bankroll is 500€
1€ SnGs when poker bankroll is 1000€
2€ NLHE cashgames when poker bankroll is 2000€.
Would love to reach 0.20€ SnGs soon by depositing or better IRL BRM. Starting from 0.50€ SnGs the stakes are more often playable.
