Today I was thinking about the Daily Freebie Promotion at GG Poker. Of course the first thing after log into my account is to claim and hopefully transform it into some cash. From time to time even a 25ct ticket gives some nice extra money. E.g. today I was able to finish 2nd in a Mystery Bounty Royal and collected 3 bounties with one of it being worth $2.50. In the end I won a total of $3.56. This is even more than my rake back of the previous week. I am not really able to tell how much I have gained from all those free tickets but I am pretty sure it is a good amount. To spot on this I would like to record the results from now on.

With all this floating around my head, I had the idea for some challange that I now call The Mystery Bounty Royal Strike. You are welcome to jump on if the following sounds interessing/entertaining to you. It could be interesting for all kind of stakes. It has the potential for some huge winning without any risk but you also need to be a good player to succed, or at least you need very much luck. Nevermind.

Goal:
Finish a $25 Mystery Bounty Royal in the first place. That is the strike.

Rules:
A single strike attampt starts with a Daily Freebie $0.25 Mystery Bounty Royal Ticket.
You are only allowed to buy in with winnings (excluding potential taxes) of the current strike attampt.
A strike attampt fails, if you are not able to buy in any more from winnings of this strike attampt.

Thats it. I was thinking about preset some kind of BRM but finally leave this to the challenger. I have started my first strike attampt and I am going to use a 3xBI BRM. That means I will register for $1 only if i have more than $3 in total winnings, for $3 with more than $9 and so on. I will deviate from that in some edge cases especially when moving down. I wonder how far this will go, how many attampts I will need and how the strike results will look like.

Well...

The dark and light side are close together. After my last post things did not work out very well. I had the worst run in my life (at least I think so) with pretty nasty coolers for my fist strike attempt.

Maybe it is because i wanted it, too much. No, I just had very good hands sucked out in important spots. Thats fact.

The good thing: I do not need to think about this too much and for long time because I have gained the biggest win so far in this challenge just after that today.

I will give some insights soon, now I just want to brag! Final hand is interesting as I have pushed from LJ as 2nd in chips into the table with a shorty in SB and the CL in BB. Wondering if BBs call is correct in terms of ICM. He had 99. In the end I was lucky to have him in because I would have lost vs the shorty but on the other hand I would have been still in the game. Just a very interesting situation.

I made a rough estimate of my bankroll and had to do an immediate intermediate update as I have reached the 3k milestone for the first time! I can say that I am back in the game. From a motivational point of view and also in terms of volume. Beside yesterdays great succes there are some screenshots of other FTs I have played since the last update. Running pretty good atm. Some gold would have been nice though but I will not complain.

I was wondering about the GGCare & GGCheers promotion. I remeber that when I started playing at GGPoker from time to time I also gained some chips from non-cashgame formats. But over the last year (or even a longer period) I did not get any single chip any more. I was asking myself, if they have changed the T&C somehow. But then, some days ago that little dancing Daniel showed up telling me I had a very bad beat and GG is taking care of it.

The thing is, for me this is not a beat at all. I was auto-all-in (replay is linked with the image, just click it) after loosing the hand before that hand. In all that time I had so many real coolers (and of course suckouts as well) that would be rather qualifying. The system seems to be super strange and random. Does anybody have some information/experience how this works. Probably the PVI also has some impact.

I recently started tracking my FP and rake to calculate my personal PVI. Its current value is 0.7 effectivly giving me 14% RB instead of the promoted 20% for Platinum Fish. :rage: I did this to also verify that numbers in the PS SP tracking are correct. As I did not find a simple way to show actual rake paid to GG. You have any tips for that? The most easiest solution for me still is to just rely on SP (or in my case BP) and do some simple math. Even the numbers in PT4 are not correct. Probably of incorrect tourney detection and not supporting all kinds of format (e.g. F&G).

To do correct tracking I calculated rake for the different formats especially Spin & Gold and Mystery Battle Royal myself. I would like to share my results in case there is anybody not aware of and also snapshot them as they may change in the future.

Spin & Gold 7%
Mystery Battle Royal 8% (resulting in ~94.5% of the BI as $EV for a bounty)
Tourneys 8%

I would like to close this post with another brag. I managed to snatch one of those 3.5% boxes again. However, for the first time at the $10 BI level. Tastes nice! :f_pleased:

You are right Untiltable. There are public sources giving a rake percentage for the formats. Just wanted to verify these numbers myself. As you can see with the rakeback there was a chance they also hide some small impacts under the cover.

Are you sure regarding tourneys? I can tell that PVI definitely has impact on MTT (and F&G) as well, at least for me. I got exactly 30% fewer FP for rake payed on them as well as I was supposed to get regarding the promoted 100FP per $1 rake. This results in the decreased rakback at the end of the week.

Here are the numbers for my previous week.

There is some minor inaccuracy because of rounding small stakes and currency conversion. I have paid about $23.09 rake. I got €2.75 back. For currency conversion I use the 500/588 ratio (shown on the summary site in game) which is close to last weeks exchange rate. 2,75 / (23.09 * 500 / 588) = 14%

This is my PS SP/BP summary.

I gained 69.12 BP with 3 BP per $1 rake which gives $23.04 in rake which is the most accurate result compared to my own tracking to get.

I found your post. The very first thing that is confusing. You are (still) writing of 35%/50% for Platiunum Octopus/Whale. Is there a region specific difference in the fish buffet? Here is a screenshot of current numbers from the German page https://ggpoker.de/aktionen/fish-buffet/

Spoiler

As you can see there is a 5% gap to your numbers.

I do not think that local tax has an impact as you pay tax (3% for me) on winnings independently from the buy in. There is no difference in FP gained from the same BI and the outcome. I mean I get the same FP, regardless if I am OOTM or ITM.

If there is no difference in region, the only way I can think of is (and that would align with their statements) that PVI may be different from player to player and depends on what and how a player plays. And there might be different PVI for different formats as well. So potentially your MTT (and F&G) PVI is just 1.0 while mine is the same of 0.7 for S&G, MBR and MMT (incl. F&G). By all means, very confusing!

I have been issued entry to the $170k WSOP Country Freeroll [Germany] and the chance to snag some ticket way out of my BI range.

I wondered why. The answer is given straight from the description: "Germans who participated in any 2025 WSOP Online Bracelet event (including satellites) are eligable for this Freeroll". I have played two of them with tickets from a deposit promotion. The first one was even close to pry on fame, honor and the big money xD

Wish me luck and let us see if I can make it ITM :f_thumbsup:

I would like to study some MBR spots a little bit more but have no clue how to start for free. My one-year ICMIZER subscription expired recently and currently I am not willing to subscribe again (not even for a month). Are there free tools out there to use for this at all? My quick search did not reveal anything usefull. What paid options do support such format? I am most interested in preflop ICM push or fold spots. Would be really nice, if there was some kind of the free online HRC Nash Calculator with bounties out there. Currently I am using this for simple spots where I am first in or first to call by narrowing respectivley widening ranges.

This does not help for these crazy spots where three and more players are already all in. When I started playing these MBR I was just going WTF is going on. These guys are enforcing luck at the 25ct donkaments. But lately I was thinking, if that makes sense at some point. I mean multiway you have at least 10% equity most of the time with any two cards, you get fairly good pot oods as well and finally there is the bounty effect. I can think of spots where it makes sense to go for it, at least from a chip EV perspective. On the other side I am not sure how much impact ICM has in these spots.

Unfortunately that did not help. The game started promising when I was dealt aces on the third hand. These winnings where just used as ante and blind until I got dealt Anna in BB after 40 minutes of play. The game was weird somehow. There was this guy to my right (villain on the aces as well) with a lifetime total winning of $7.50 at GG tourneys that limped or minraised nearly everything. So I had nearly no chance to open or steal. My resulting VPIP value of 2 did not scare an MP open from calling off my 14.5BB push very quick with A9o and kick my ass off table on the river. :rage:

Whatever! Thank you though VorpalF2F!

With that freeroll on schedule I decided to register for more tourneys from the upper side of my BI range. Without remarkable reward my BR quickly dropped under 3k again. There is only one FT screenshot on line.

I have spent quite a lot of time on my second MBR strike attampt. With inital winnings of $1.41 after tax from the ticktet I was able to play another 43 more games until only $0.11 where left. Contrary to what I have said earlier... to succed, even if are a good player, you need very much luck.

Daily Freebie and Strike stats (total ticket winnings | longest strike attempt | strike attempt peak)

5x $0.25 MRB | $5.00 | 44 | $6.12
4x $0.25 S&G | $1.62 | 04 | $0.97
2x $1.00 S&G | $2.00 | 24 | $2.28

I have spent most of the time with another strike attempt since my last update. This time from a 25ct Spin&Gold ticket. Boar... this challenge is really kicking ass! I have just failed after 201 games but the next one is standing right in line. Not sure if I am in the mood for another such a trip. The challenge is stamped high variance of course, especially with that super aggressive BRM that I am using. To be honest, I feel this pressure at the table. Once I have burst the line to the next level, I hope for a big spin and do not want to loose and forced to the lower level again. But thats a good mental training too.

The most valuable insight is about the additional 3% tax in Germany. Look at how much that impacts your reserves even if the real percentage is lower than 3% due to the small prizes and rounding on the lowest level.

Daily Freebie and Strike stats (total ticket winnings | longest strike attempt | strike attempt peak)

9x $0.25 MRB | $5.00 | 044 | $6.12
8x $0.25 S&G | $3.62 | 200 | $6.97
3x $1.00 S&G | $2.00 | 024 | $2.28

Cooler that makes me stop playing instantly. You show patience, waiting for profitable spots. The real problem here is that I dominate villain hard. If this 50% guy calls with random crap, QTs or 33 I am fine. But in this particulary spot with these hands it is just a fist bump right into my face especailly on that runout on the river. I think this is what they call a key hand.

I wish i could play more than 4 tables to not see this shit and just make volume. I really like this game but sometimes it just fucks me up.

Ticket would have expired soon, so I decided to use it today. Turning $0.01 into $50 is superior (and a way more higher ROI than announced in the news :f_thumbsup:). However there is a little smack with it. Lost two important flips with potential bounties. After the first one, beeing crippled, I fought my way back into the game and collected two bounties. I do not want to r/f the last one with these potential crippled bounties. I should have a good amount of FE, unfortunately I did not.

Happily taking those flips in a game with no edge. I do not think that I should/could play these hand in another way. Maybe I could have trapped the Kings with the SB beeing AI. Any complaints?
