Kinda interesting spot in this one. So pre easy 3bet. Flop we are solver wise cbetting 80% with half pot and this hand does prefer bet-folding but its close one as solver was mixing bet and x-c. Now turn I think I misplayed and should just pot lead as we are not really looking to fold this. Probably also just x-c still. Went for shove as I had some showdown value and this guy had bet very often versus check on flop.

Now this is actually 4bet solver wise and call would also be somewhat better than fold. But personally I really dont like call in these spots as it gets you into sandwich position. Solver also calls less than 1% in this sim and cold 4bets almost 5%.

Now flop is funky as our 4bet range really really dislike it. Also as I have recently studied stuff on these 4bet spots I believe this is actually one of highest lead frequency flops for opponent. Not that I really assume anyone in this pool to be aware of it or necessarily of leads in 4bet pots in general. But if I pull out something similar from trainer:

Well I guess it was indeed one of highest as SB in this is supposed to lead range for 1/5th pot :f_biggrin:

BU is then basically supposed to call everything beside some overpairs with weak support (which is massive part of overall range and even more if we are more AA heavy):

Well anyway as I knew this flop is bad for my range I thought to slowplay/trap my top two kinda as I also have straight draw. Perhaps this hand is bit weak for it though. Turn give me effective nuts so continued slowplay and on river got stab-fold from opponent. I would guess he had bluff decent amount of time. Maybe some flushes could bet-fold. Betting straight would start to be on thin side imo.

Here went for casual 5way river block bet-fold line. Opponent actually had hand to bluff raise but luckily didnt... Turn is actually kinda sick spot as I only need bit over 10% equity to call but I am not so sure if I should really have it.

It is more of a fold or raise spot. Straight does beat bluffs but do I realistically have enough (or any) bluffs when I bet into four people? Probably not.

But yeah to raise or not would depend on the opponent. It will look very very believable though and I think 3/4 pot raise would be enough to get very similar amount of folds as full pot. Tbh maybe could even go smaller as it's after all 5way spot...

Ooof.... Might be always beat on river tbh and blocking KK is not good. But yeah pot odds are also great. But imo this is reasonable spot to hero fold with deeper effective stacks. Though always tough fold to make and probably not possible versus recreational.

Day was up 100€ or so in tables and got 200€ milestone reward (rakeback) so at least managed to make some profit. Bit too sticky likely in some spots but tables were really wild at some points.

Kinda nasty run last two days. Not much down but yeah so many spots where opponents get rewarded for something silly. Anyway run into quads few times today. This first one I was sooooo close to folding but did call for some reason at last second. I guess I were just not ready to fold...

So on turn I go for bet with plan to shove most rivers. Perhaps checking back on K and Q exactly. Instead opponent lead shoves and I go to tank thinking if this is really something else than quads 30% of time. Sometimes you see people overvaluing KK or have some super weird float going on (very rare) so I guess those were reason I called. Instead he has nuts. Now funny thing is I would have fairly happily shoved for value vs check but this guy did try to not get value. I think this line comes from fear of us checking back not understanding that if we call we would value shove anyway (case AA basically) and it does block our chance of bluffing (some chance albeit low).

This next one on other hand is case of not understanding your own range. Not saying river check is necessarily bad it just depends on opponent. But I just dont see I have value bet on river. To be honest I would probably check slowplayd QQ for same reason. Though I would almost never slowplay QQ here.

So no brainer value bet with third nuts on river? Reason I check is because turn x-r tends to be fairly polarizing move. So value is pretty much some 7x, QQ and 44. From those we are still behind on QQ and 7x and 44 is likely not calling. So be very very sure villain is auto betting AA to ever make this kind of check. Though has to be said I probably would have folded this one on big river bet. KK is usually just x-c turn. Some sort of QTT9 perhaps might x-r as bluff but is it then calling river bet?

So pre I would fold to squeeze with 100bb stacks with two gaps. SB was kinda semi maniac but bit more controlled with deep stacks and BB seemed like solid TAG reg from small sample. Anyway this hand got me to think of few things:

1: Is pre ok? I think its fine this deep.
2: Should we bet if checked to in flop? I would have probably gone for half pot for protection.
3: Should we potentially raise flop? Maybe some sense but I dont see big benefits on it.
4: What is plan if SB x-r flop and BB fold? I would probably just fold personally. We do block boats but also bunch of semibluffs with QQs. As we dont really have support we are totally crushed vs sets and top two with support. That said such small cbet and call might look very weak and SB could perhaps pull off some loosey goosey raises with plain NFD etc.
5: Should I bet turn? It felt ok as I do have Q:Qs: with FD which works as massive blocker and my hand doesnt mind protection and it does look super strong 3way deep stacks. Now my plan was to fold to x-r though.
6: If called should we continue to bluff with QQ on blank river and do we always want to size as pot? Not sure about this but I think its spot where few people are really calling us down without nuts. Sizing wise I was just wondering as river pot would be around 200bb. But I guess theory wise its nuts or bluff so...

Several of these today as well on PLO100. MP open, I 3bet, SB cold 4bet and I call. Flop was... easy fold if nothing else.

Spoiler

Then this is prime example of stupendous plays getting rewarded. CO limp, BU limp, SB raises (too wide), I 3bet and SB call (too wide). I pot cbet flop and SB call (too wide). I shove turn for SPR 0.5 and I guess SB call is close. This time he had 30% which is one of best cases for him. It is pretty bad turn so perhaps we could check but for such low SPR and villain potentially leading with some better hands...

Thought to not play today at all as my sleep rhythm has gone totally haywire so I skipped sleeping previous night completely to try and set it more reasonable. But have done some study side and checking some hands from previous session. Being sleepy while doing this is lot cheaper than at poker tables :)

Somewhat common thing to happen especially vs recreational are these weird river sizes. Turn I would actually lean toward checking I think with nfd but now I kinda wanted to get some protection and obviously value. Downside is facing this x-r as now opponent is repping boat and our combo starts to look lot weaker but its still rare thing to happen. Price was still kinda good though so I called. Hit nuts on river and then we come to this sizing thing.

So what happens here is that my river shove range will be exactly nuts and 2nd nuts. In practise A7 and AJ. It wont have any bluffs as trying that would be completely crazy. So if I do end up making hero call villain will make 40€ but he will give extra 32€ when he is beat (as he will never fold value hand probably). Basically these middling sizing are kinda weird for these reasons. I think in this spot he should only have pot or check but sometimes block sizing can make sense. Usually that is like 1/3 or smaller. Exploitatively small bet-fold could be best here as that could get called way more often by Ax and you can still fold to shove. I would guess solver wont have much of x-r on turn after just calling flop. Anyway I think this is extremely underbluffed situation so I would not really call Ax much at all on river.

QQJ8:
1. pre seems fine
4. Tough to fold to x/r with this small betsizing. Player dependant
6. I dont see why we would turn this into a bluff on the river. Seems like too much showdownvalue.

Yeah insane how the house sometimes takes it all...

What do you mean with this??? As far as I'm concerned in poker you play against other players and not against the house. But they took a bunch of rake.
