Yeah it might be bit too much showdown value. Especially with that very small flop bet sizing. But yeah it's not that rare in solver land for mediocre two pair to be turned into bluff after taking polarised action on earlier street with premium blockers. But perhaps more reasonable with e.g. QQT8.

Asked on this on mastermind discord and there was some preference for flop raise for tough future street playability but strong blockers. Plus checking turn to realise equity and not open possibility of getting raised off the pot.

There is sort of idea on flop raise as I mentioned earlier. Plus when BB goes that small on flop you could almost think of it as check and raise if your plan was to bet vs check.

Yeah insane how the house sometimes takes it all...

What do you mean with this??? As far as I'm concerned in poker you play against other players and not against the house. But they took a bunch of rake.

If players are of equal skill, none of them wins but both pay to the house for that chance to compete.

1k€ straight down yesterday with some awesome tables. So classical outcome. Did go through some of bigger pots and recorded it. Maybe boring to watch but anyway. Didn't have subscription so only able to check preflop stuff with trainer. Will probably upload today.

Better luck today hopefully in the tables!

I had similar day, what a coincidence. Awesome opponent, had deep stacks in multiple tables and just wanted to either play for stacks with all kinds of hands or make huge barrel bluffs. Strategy wise it went well, managed to get deep stacks in all the time with good equity. Result wise it was horrible, he kept on spiking 1-10% equities. 15 buyins down in short session. Sometimes variance is a bit cruel.

I always gaze at how they get lucky instead of focusing on what to do vs possible check-raise.

In the long run maybe but that certainly does not apply to games where people only play a few hands. And even in longer Matches there will be still winners and losers.

If it is even just one hand, the EV is there for the better player. And in theory, in the long run all that EV evens out.

At stakes that matter to the player, losing can cause frustration (anger), as the player wanted to win fast at those stakes to increase bankroll, but now the bankroll is smaller because of the loss.

Uploaded that review video but seems like my audio settings are off so its kind of unviewable. I guess I will just remove that noise gate as that caused some of normal talk to cut out.

Anyway yesterday was also not so great run. Few spots:

Probably overplayed this one tbh. 3bet pre, half pot cbet and stack off vs shove. I think my hand is bit too weak for this line though at least in position when we can take free card as well. Though with AA65 with double gs I would not mind. I think in game I thought having bdfd its fine to bet but feels borderline at best.

This one went for value but run into top of villain range. I think its ok but I did hesitate on river on whatever this is value shove. Bottom of my value range. Could also see some point in checking turn. Basically to keep villain range wider and allow free card for draws. BU approach was to pot almost always so I were pretty happy to x-r flop. River is kinda nasty as any overcard to 7 that did not help I would just check.

These ones has happened almost every session recently. SB just joined table, raise-call pre, x-r flop and gets there with 12% or so equity. Then he spews off his stack and leaves before I have chance to get anything back.

This was probably fine from villain. I open BU, SB 3bet and I call. Flop he cbets 1/3, I raise 1/2 and he shoves. Had 4x% equity still with his combo draw.

Lot of these sort of outcomes yesterday as well. So SB open and I 3bet but just calling is also fine. Goes checked to river where I bet 1/2 and call vs pot raise. Would have folded without 9. Why this was so dirty is that I was just going for river check without hitting flush, straight or set. With first two I would beat villain and he might have used his K♠: or 45 to bet or x-r. Instead its T so I have mandatory value bet and pretty reasonable bluff catcher. SB rarely has 54 pre or with turn check. I dont really like his turn line as how often do I really delayed bet this turn? Really rarely. So set with blocking 98...

Only big pot I won in plo100 was this. EP open, CO call, BU call, I squeeze from SB, EP call, CO fold, BU call. Just potted flop with SPR being only 1.5. That turn was nasty but did evade.

This was another board runout joke so to say. Called pre from BB. X-r flop having nuts with two pair and fd blocker. Pot turn and river went checked. Anyway this would be pretty much weakest nut straight I would x-r flop. Especially as we were bit deeper. Could perhaps argue just calling but this villain had been pretty wide pre and recreational player.

But yeah only way for him to win (whole pot) at showdown was literally to get two 4.

PS: End of rant. Perhaps today is better and I get some sun shine to hay stack!

In all fairness, until those two fours, he wasn't folding.
If I was in your place, opponent would have potted river.
It would have been a good move since they might get value from flushes
If so, would you have called?

Nah I were folding especially vs this opponent who had shown few bluff candidates he didnt use and this specific spot is kind of ballsy to bluff. Though also kind of easy for some players. Problem is that very often the bluff comes from nut straight trying to get split to fold. So calling when best case scenario often is to get split and opponent can still have fair amount of nut flushes and boats is very very bad deal. My hand though is kind of decent bluff catcher as I do block some flushes and boats but yeah I doubt its still that good of calling hand. Opponent could maybe sometimes have like QJT9cc or QQ8xcc that we could actually beat but very rarely we are vs two pair or weaker straight calling turn without fd.

That move is the bread-and-butter in hi/lo split games. Jamming when you know it is a split makes a bunch of money, even if all you have is the low.
