Well, luck does play a part. When I started playing poker at age 16, I thought it was all luck. Then I discovered probability and played the odds, ignoring the bluffing part of the game altogether. We were playing 5-Card draw mostly, and often with wild cards. Once I recognized that bluffing works — especially if you rarely do it — I got a bit better.
