forecast high for today is 27, which means 29, since the weather station is at an airport about 10km away.

It actually hit 33 at Vorpal Manor. That's getting into "not so comfortable" territory.
Today's forecast high is 23. We'll see
Tonight and tomorrow night we have the latest sunset of the year 21:19

We have a heatwave this week and Friday will be 37C degrees. Our sunset today will be at 22.09h today. Decent difference. With summer time and the fact I life closer to London than Berlin, but using Berlin time it could explain the difference for Dutch time.

At the risk of being interesting, here's an article about the current heat wave in Europe...

Had to take a shower after I came back home from my run, sweating like a pig. When I was done cleaning up afterwards, I got so sweaty that I was just about ready for another shower.

This weather...

I so love that the English Language includes idioms that are the exact opposite of what they're trying to say.

Is there a German idiom for profuse perspiration?
I had a look, and I found "schwitzen wie ein Schwein" which is more-or-less identical

Yes, that exists. Not even sure if it's all that common.

Pigs are associated with all kinds of gross stuff, which is why that idiom immediately came to my mind too. Honestly, though, they're pretty adorable animals, aren't they?

I'm sure glad it isn't snowing.
Can you imagine shovelling snow in this heat?

It's currently 15C and raining.
We have all the windows in the house open, and the inside temperature is down to 20 to 21 depending where in the house you are.

That's strange. Than you have a good reason to do a conference like that.

It's here now a little bit better than yesterday. We gad some thunderstorm in the afternoon, but still reasonable warm here.
