Though in river effective stack was "only" bit over 60€. Still over buyin though. Cant be that bad line to take though with such massive wrap and bdfd. Theory wise might be horrible river bluff in a way that we obviously block all the draws.

Yeah lol in situations like this is nice to have a good Bankroll Management, I remember when I went bluffcatching in NL2 in December 2025 with 10-buyin BRM, that hurt quite a bit when I called down with weak tp just to see the nuts in nlhe. But if I had had 1000 buy-ins, I wouldn't notice those attempts, then I could allow these mistakes and would be ~more correctish approach.

Well I am not only one going for some bluffs in the pool. This is kinda funky spot in a way that whatever I have A2 boat or AK top pair I am not so sure if they really are so different as call hands. Beside some fd not having equity if he bluffs those. I guess unblocking broadway cards could be good to make it more likely opponent has these non Ax rundowns. That said his hand is just too wide to squeeze as ss combo. For villain as bluff combo I think double pairs would make best ones to have some outs. Ah well actually fd is probably kinda better as I have almost never boat.

Another bluff catch spot. Kudos for this guy as well to pull trigger on river. Having 4 as blocker is best possible as we do unblock 85 but block straight.

Been bit silent blog. I was actually one week in Crete and managed to get flu on last days which then took sometime to get better from here in Finland. Its sort of ironic as I have not had flu in years but once I go to south... Though yeah there was over 30m/s wind during few days so I probably had bit too light clothing. If someone is interested I guess I could post few images/videos from the trip.

Anyway have played somewhat in last few days so lets post some hands. First one was good customer playing ton of hands. Turn barrel could be somewhat questionable vs this sort of player as fe might just be too low. As default though I really love to barrel turn. Kinda good example of recreational shoving river for no reason that we talked with Kyyberi while ago. Though vs this guy I would not hero fold any flush.

This was intertesting spot as this villain on my left recently joined table so had no reads. Wasnt really happy on flop facing this big cbet but cant really fold obviously. You can argue with such low SPR we just cant fold turn either but yeah not sure what I would have done tbh. Pot being 3way is making it way nastier imo. Once he checks turn the line looked like full of it. So I check river to give chance to bluff and one more diamond is kinda nice even if there is SF possibility.

Bit of a bluffsky move in 3bet pot on low board. Seems reasonable to me with two bdfd and we have obviously lot more stuff connecting in general on these wheel cards.

Big bluff vs kinda maniac looking fellow. Sometimes you just need to pull the trigger imo. Open SB, BB 3bet. Flop goes checked and I pot turn&river.

Some more educational hands I guess then:

1: Danger of plain draw hands

So CO open, I 3bet in position which is fine with this but bit lower rundown I would tend to call. CO call to 3bet is ok but its actually quite close. E.g. bit worse connectivity I would recommend to fold. Flop SPR was around 5 so I went with 2/3 sizing, CO raise pot and we get it in. Now villain does not have any made hand which became massive issue here and I were crushing with my bottom pair! Now I think its still ok to x-r while being OOP for villain but in position I would definitely just call.

2: Sometimes you need to pull the trigger

Actually had two hands recently kind of show casing why I dont mind overfolding in general. In both of these I would have folded and I think in both cases villains should have gone for third barrel.

First one I open CO, BB 3bet and we call. BB cbet 1/3 on flop which to me is bit weird sizing in general. On turn he bets 3/4 pot and river goes checked. Now I would not be bluffing that often on river in villain shoes tbh but when you sit there with nf blocker and two very good boat blockers you imo kinda have to bluff. Sizing wise river bet can be small. 1/3 to 1/2 pot is enough and it will put lot of these flushes in my range in tough spot. Just balance that small sizing with stronger stuff as well. I would only use block size in BB shoes as default.

Second one I open SB, BB call. I flop top & bottom with kinda weak support so I decided to just x-c. BB bets bit over half pot. Turn he pots and I x-c again. My plan was to call some blanks on river but on this river I would definitely fold. I was thinking on turn I do unblock 765 which is kinda nice... Untill river came. But then BB checks and I win. I kinda like BB flop bet. Turn is probably too optimistic but river check is absolute blunder.

Now I find these both cases kind of interesting as to what was potentially reason for these checks. In first AA literally has no showdown value. On second one there is some but when you only have bottom two with prime nut blockers it should be easy decision to bluff. Obviously these opponents are not that good on average in this pool but I do wonder if main reasoning was supposed showdown value more than just chickening on bluff. Well to be honest first spot is scary to bluff and I would rarely do it in general but again with three solid blockers and no showdown value...

PS: Yeah on second there is J9 concern but again half pot would be fine sizing imo.

Funky hand I had recently. BU had been active player. I block turn card making two pair so I were very suspicious of this line. Its just one of those spots where you feel super stupid when he shows up with "obvious 44". Which means this really looked like some form of big straight draw. So OOP I just decided to ship. Prime example of why you should be very careful with these sort of move in BU shoes. Theory wise you should have some big slowplays sometimes but its something very few people really do. Some KQJ4 could perhaps be possibility.

Thought to bring up this spot from monent ago. EP limps, CO iso raises, I call and EP call. CO pots flop and I just folded pretty quickly. I think vs smaller cbet this would be close with bunch of bd equity. But even though techincally hand is combo draw its also very easily dominated (non heart A not helping). If we hit flush we basically hope to get to showdown for free. If we hit gs we hope to not face turn barrel. If we get some nice card like 4♣: we have lot of raw equity but some part of it is very often dominated. So lot of visibility issues all over the place. Preflop its more of a call though 3bet has some nice sides as well. I would tend to 3bet bit higher rundown.

Some spots vs weirdo/maniac dudes then. This first one is theory wise clear call in position. At least 100bb deep and it probably becomes even more just call deeper stacked. Though this guy was doing kind of whatever 3bets so would not necessarily mind 4bet either. But then again we can potentially use his aggression postflop against him with deeper SPR.

Flop clear call especially as I cant really give credit for opponent to have me beat that often. Turn is kinda gin card though it also means if I am behind I will likely lose my stack. I only call to keep all his shinegans in there. Though without heart it could be better to ship it. I think villain might stack off bunch of weaker stuff. Mainly draws though.

River he triple barrels smallish. I snap and kind of unfortunately he went bit gun shy on sizing as I was ready to call pot as well. Well his postflop line is not necessarily totally crazy but pre 3bet is obviously way out of line. He should also tighten concidering deep stack oop but this quy was one of those gamblers.

Thought that river for quite long whatever I should block bet-fold or check. Did check and then facing this bet. I just dont see enough non Tx as opponent had seemed somewhat decent. He overcalls flop and big turn bet. There is sliver of chance of JJ or some form of AA. But imo vast majority of time its quads.

Spewed somewhat by cold 4betting. MP open, CO 3bet and I cold 4bet. Should be even in theory just fold. QJT8ds we can call. Only AQJTds would be looking for cold 4bet.

Spoiler

Not sure what this fellow was thinking on turn tbh.

So was he:
A: Raising straight for value
B: Turned straight into bluff trying to get low flushes to fold
C: Raising "straight flush" for value
D: Something else, what?

I think sort of most logical one would be option C.

Good spot to block bet three times imo. Tries to get value from wide range and leaves space for bluff raise.
