mhm, true.. seems like my weak flop-play cost me some BB again.. i gotta find the off-switch for the "make stupid calls and raises even if you don't have the appropriate hand to do it" task in my head..

what about the backdoor flush draw? in my opnion the two overcards and the backdoor flush draw justify a call.

fold turn would be the proper play, not fold flop:

You have 6 Outs to your Overcards, perhaps discount them to 4.5 cause that would make another guy a two pair. than you have 1 out to your backdoor straight and 1.5 to your backdoor flush, makes 5 - 7 outs, depending on how strikt/optimistic you are.
Your Pot Odds are 8.5:1, so even 5 Outs would be enough. Easy call on the flop.

once again i'm proven not being able to properly calculate odds and outs, i.e. not paying enough attention to calculation. that's my number one deficiency at the time. what do you think is the best way to get rid of it step by step? i often feel overwhelmed when having to calculate my odds and outs when it is my turn. then i often start to panic and call or raise even if i don't have the necessary odds to do so. any ideas how to handle that?

how many tables do you play at the same time. maybe you should reduce it to 2. i had trouble with odds and outs calculating, too because i had action at too many tables...

i actually only play one single table at once. but i must admit that i don't really pay too much attention to my odds and outs but first of all i try to study my opponents' actions. is that the wrong way to go on .02/.04 tables?

On those low limit tables you'll see lotsa stupid calls and raises. So studying your oponents is very important, i'd suggest to take notes, if you realize somebody is playing very agressive for no reason, or seems to call everything as long as he has two cards in his hands.
On the other hand, players are hard to predict on this limit, and even if you have made some notes on a player it may not be worth anything if it's older than two weaks, couse he could have improved meanwhile or he could have been on tilt last time you saw him.
So even more important than watching your oponents is watching yourself! - Play by the odds, try to calculate your odds in every hand for practise, and don't fall into the trap of changing your play just because some bad beats like i always do
You'll get bad beats of players who play wrong and call too much, but that should also bring you the advantage of a bigger pot once they don't hit their ace on the river.
