Just before the break, I saw a hand between two players get to the river, when one player bet, and the other one called. The first player - let's call him Bluffy McAir - instantly pushed his cards, face down, into the middle of the table. They didn't hit the muck - player two (Snappy O'Read) waited until the dealer had touched them to the muck and then reached out to scoop in the pot. His own cards remained face down.
Bluffy McAir saw this as odd, while another player actually asked the dealer, "Aren't you meant to show your hand to win a pot?"
"Normally we do," she replied, "But not, apparently for the World Series. I made a player show their hand to win the pot in a situation like this yesterday and got in trouble."
This does indeed seem odd considering the rule is standard in most casinos in the UK at least and I can see a less mild-mannered table giving the dealers and each other all kind of aggro should a big pot end in this manner.
Reminded me of pokernoob's hand at EPT Barcelone.
I really think we should have universal ruling.
What do you guys think? And if you agree, who gets to make them?

Well afaik, you only need to show your hand if there is another hand alive. If all other hands muck, of course you don't need to show. To put in in perspective: Pokernoob didn't have to show his hand at the EPT Barcelona either - he could just have scooped the pot and then mucked his hand.

Pokernoob doubled up vs William Thorson. They went all in on a K97 flop. Pokernoob showed 99 for 2nd set and Thorson showed TJ for double gutter.
Allanon is running even better. He took almost the complete stack from one player having set over set and flush over flush versus him. This probably puts him top 5 in chips.
Nazgul had Trip Queens Top Kicker vs a Full House but thanks to pot control he was able to limit the damage. He also folded the Nutflush on a paired board earlier.

Just found Gus Hansen and Gabe Kaplan. Oh and I saw Chris Ferguson arrive too during the break. I'll try to look for his table.
The last seat at the sick table is felt, but we don't know by which player. He has played one hand so fair vs Scotty Nguyen. Scotty check/minraised him on a very drawy turn and got called. River completed a lot of draws and Scotty bet out again. The other guy then decided to have a 5 minute chat.
He said some funny things like: I think John Juanda would call this
Juanda was amused and replied something like: Hey man, leave me out of this.
Then he guy said: I just don't wanna fold cause I just know you're gonna say "I bluffed you baby".
After he repeated that a few times, he finally got a reaction from Scotty who said: "Or I could say nice call"
Eventually the guy folded his hand.
Scotty said he couldn't tell the guy if he bluffed him or not because he didn't see what he was up against.
They're just announcing that registration is closed

Nazgul is out.
He first made a squeeze with AQo. The original raiser shoved and got called by the caller so he had a pretty easy fold.
Then he got JJ in the BB. SB, who was pretty loose, squeezed the CO and the BTN and Nazgul cold 4bet. The SB shoved, Nazgul called and looked at KK.
Allanon lost a big pot. He flopped a set of fives on a 458 board. Got 3 callers when he bet. He continued betting on a 9 turn and got one more caller, Dennis Phillips. The river brought a 6, and I'm not sure how the action went on right then but Phillips won with a straight.
If I understood Allanon's hand gestures right, he now has 35k in front of him.

Good news from the sick table guys!
Both Trader and Pokernoob are doing well.
Trader doubled up. He openraised UTG with AA.
Got 3bet by UTG+2. He made a nice little 4bet and got shoved by the other player. He snapcalled and the other player showed QQ.
His Aces held up.
Meanwhile Tobias is showing the table what real agression means.
Yevgeniy "Jovial Gent" Timoshenko, who won this years WCOOP Main Event openraised UTG+2 and pokernoob 3bet him and took down the pot.
One hand after that, Timoshenko opened again, and got called by John Juanda and Trader. No cheap flop decided pokernoob. He 3bet all of them and took down a nice pot.

Allanon his table broke up and he's been reseated. He is kinda relieved. He lost another pot to Dennis Phillips and couldn't seem to win a pot vs him.

Sorry for the long break but you didn't miss much really.
Truth is players were on a 90 minutes dinner break.
So we went to a nice little restaurant and ordered some food.
The main course took like forever to arrive and in the end, Pokernoob, Allanon & Trader decided to head back to the casino to play.
Right at that time, the waiters brought all the food at once, leaving me and Nazgul and a table full of food.
It was kind of a weird situation so I didn't want to leave Nazgul alone there and decided to stay, eat a little bit and have a drink.
It seems pokernoob & Trader have moved. I'll try to find them right now.
Pokernoob gets the action going again.
I'm not sure about the preflop action but it was Timoshenko who ended up playing vs pokernoob and who bet like 1.5k in position on a Q45 board. Pokernoob check/called.
Turn was a 7 and Timoshenko bet 3.8k, pokernoob check/called.
River was a J and Timoshenko bet 8.5k, pokernoob check/raised to about 25k.
Timoshenko decided to fold an Pokernoob showed him 33.
I feel like I can't judge this at all, it's really beyond me. I'm just glad he's up really.
