[Closed] Not aggressive enough set 8's...??

I might call his raise on flop and then check/raise him on turn, but in your situation i would calldown to.

i would bet the turn for value since he often only has a pocket pair, a queen or a weaker 8.
I don't like to call the flop raise and try a turn c/r since we would give him the option to put 3-bets in on the turn and he might check behind (not very reasonable but this is 0.05/0.10 and that could happen here)
if he raises your turn bet I would calldown, otherwise valuebet the river.

Flop action is pretty tricky here, usual player wouldnt cap this flop with TPTK, maybe with overpair, but then again he would usually raise that preflop (aa, kk).
So i would put him on atleast a set or a fullhouse.
So which cards would he usually play like that?
78, 89-q maybe king and ofc ace, so u win to 3 hands, lose to 3 and split with 1 so u dont have any equity edge over him, but ofc this changes if player is maniac or extra loose.

This hand is realy tricky to play. Your mate here was a little bit to aggressiv for hitting top pair (Q) or "overpair" (KK-AA) for my opinion. It realy looks like, that he hit trips, too. But I have seen so many wierd things at my short handed games so it is not unusual, that your opponents do/will play pockets (22-JJ) extremly strong with a boards like this here. I would have played c/r turn here and if he reraises than shift gear to c/c.

the problem with c/r turn is that we are exposed to a possible 3-bet against which we can't fold in such a large pot but would almost always be behind. With bet/call though, we only allow 2 bets to go in the pot on the turn and don't give villain a freecard/cheap showdown since we have initiative.

It is also dangerous to say, that villain can't hold a Q or an overpair because he definitely can. This are the PS lowlimits and there are tons of totally unpredictalbe players who can have all sorts of weird hands and until proven otherwise i don't think they are rational players. I for example wouldn't be surprised to see him hold Q4 or something like that.

My guess is, he is only holding a Queen pair. Most of the guys there (assuming that's PP and not PS?) are from here, so they mostly stick to what they understand about the SHC. Capping with QQ is one of the few things they get.

So I'd defininetly bet or c/r on Turn and on a reraise I'd calldown.
