But ESPN now has the coverage rights up to 2017... so who are they targeting? with all the channels and technology and the web they can broadcast it live somewhere for us to watch if we want AND have there 2 hour edited "action-packed" show fine tuned for the american audience... they don't have to show it on their mainstream channel, but it would be nice in this day and age to be able to watch the biggest and most lucrative event in the world live... shouldn't we? I think all agree on this fact, I'm still just sometimes surprised at how backwards america really is...

its an economics problem, if they can make money off of it, they would do it.

if they aren't doing it, they probably just think its not worth the trouble that's all.

For live feed in the net you are excactly the target audience.

Totally agree with you Nick.

Then why secure the rights at all? I think there are enough people worldwide to generate enough of a target audience to make money off this... I think it just goes to show that poker is still young and has a long way to go... I do believe that one day the coverage will get to the point of covering all the tournaments live, like golf... how many people think watching people play 18 holes is boring, let alone 72? I think it's only a matter of time before EPT, WPT, WSOP and all the other major live events get their TV time... I mean, you can watch snooker live ffs... In the future satelite tv will have dedicated poker channels... anyway, just not yet... now we have to listen to people talk about a card game... lol...

well how much does it costs to set up couple of webcams and take a couple of geeks from internet to comment?

there are TV channels where you can watch starcraft all day long. I don't see any reason why poker can't get dedicated channel.

A live feed would be too boring for most viewers, and would probably discourage them from watching poker at all, so it wont happen. During a live feed you wouldnt see players hole cards - that is added later with commentary. During a live game Im pretty sure that absolutely nobody, and I mean NOBODY, gets to see the players cards.

It is interesting to know how many people are watching this clumsy translation. Even without the picture it is interesting to know what is happening there. Can't they add a web cam?? It is like some kind of torture to watch it like this.
