Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 10/20 Blinds (9 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

MP2 (t670)
MP3 (t1530)
CO (t1490)
Button (t2350)
SB (t1480)
BB (t1500)
Hero (UTG) (t1500)
UTG+1 (t1500)
MP1 (t1480)

Hero's M: 50.00

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q, Q
Hero bets t80, 7 folds, BB calls t60

Flop: (t170) 5, K, 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t100, BB raises to t240, Hero calls t140

Turn: (t650) 7 (2 players)
BB bets t280, Hero calls t280

River: (t1210) 7 (2 players)
BB bets t900 (All-In), Hero folds

Total pot: t1210

The c/r is kinda ugly, but i think my hand is too good to fold at this point.
On the turn i call the small bet, hoping he gives up on a bluff on the river or just checks.
I obviously cant call a river shove.

Im not really happy about giving away a free card here. Sure, it's a pretty dry board, but it could easily become ugly for me (i guess it's a phobia from playing too much FL SH ).

His BB defending range is pretty wide, especially in the early phases. Say he has A8 and gets a free turn, now he has 11 outs against my hand when i could've gotten it over with on the flop. Also say Ad shows up, and he has something like JdTd. He might semi-bluff his big draw and i have no idea where i am in the hand.

since you counted the worse case scenarios how about this.
He has a pocket pair 22-JJ. Of those only 55 and 66 beat you. The rest only has 2 outs vs you, but some of them will start paying you off if you check the flop ( lets assume 77-JJ). Looks like a good spot to check for me ;). If you think you need to bet you should be comfortable with folding even vs. small raises in my opinion

I think he calls at least one street with any pocket pair from 7 to Q, regardless if i check behind.
Besides, after being the preflop aggressor i would cbet this board HU 100%, so balancing is also a reason i bet here.

I called his raise on the flop to reevaluate on the turn. He makes some sort of blocking bet on the turn so i felt there's a decent chance im ahead against either a lower pair or something like a 78 that paired on the turn.

There is really not much need to balance this, since villains won't be able to take adavantage out of you polarizing your range when betting the flop ( meaning its either air or a good hand) and checking behind the mediocre ones.
as to the call you would get anyway. Maybe from TT-QQ, but i dont think that 77-99 will just go ahead and call. Besides that you control the pot. Villain wont be able to build a pot while you hold a mediocre hand. So you can play a small pot with a small hand.

Dont play tough spots in early stages. Just make a cbet and fold to raise.

i dont like to give up from this hand that easy i call that raise but i fold turn. his bet size on turn imo means he like to play for stacks here.

or i reraise flop to 410 and fold if he shove.

btw i think that 3xbb preflop is better standard raise than 4xbb, than ul Cbet is 80

Yeah, maybe its to weak but if he raise you on this board without many draws and K high, you cant be ahead here, and you play for 2 outs... Calling flop and folding to blank turn is weakest than folding on flop. He will continue beting in 99%.

Reraise flop to 410 is better than call and fold on the turn but imo the best play just fold on the flop.

true but often he will raise there with K with weak kicker and he might slow down after a call on flop or he will raise there with OESD so i dont want to give up yet. but most of time QQ are not good in that spot

hehe really ugly spot.
but i would not give up to a single raise here.
he might c/r you with some weaker pairs, or some draws.
if you bet you have to call that minraise.
i would not reraise again... that only isolates you against stronger hands, and he will fold all his weaker hands.
so a call is in order.
on the turn... i would call this small bet.
river i fold.
i think you played the hand well although a cb on the flop would be nice too.
but i cbet that board almost 100%.
hm.
i like the way you played tha hand.
