of course you can do that... i would do it depending on my table image... if i am known to bet when checked to me, i would do it here as well... if i played pretty straightforward i would check behind and let the opponents catch up

on the other hand reminds me this example of something barry greenstein wrote in 'ace on the river' (i think i read it there)... you should consider slowplaying with hands that are big, but not the nuts... e.g. 76 on a Q 6 6 board... this might give you the chance to lose the minimum if villain really has QQ... and that is also the reason why he proposes to play the nuts pretty fast (from time to time someone else got a big hand on this flop too 55 44 33 and A2 and is slowplaying it)

but i guess with that board i would check most of the times and hope for a deuce to show up...

If bb is loose then I´d bet flop, other cases check behind is ok play.
UTG likely doesn´t have anything and are going c/f, so that would only come which hand range bb is flatting and how often that board would hit his range
