I would like to beat the .1/.2 limits yet. Being a newbie, this is still my challenge. I think I have the starting hands play ok, everything else seems random. Where do I post some statistics for appraisal?

Hello. My first post.
I'm new to poker, but I'm eager to learn. First I read some books and watched some poker learning movies, but that was mistake. Beginner section here on pokerstrategy was a lot better.
I hope to reach 1/2 limit till new years eve 
I want to be good enough, to participate in our country hold'em freezout tournaments too. cca 7€ buy-in and cca 50 players.

Thanks Stefan. I have started posting hands. I have also started looking at my sessions in the hand history afterwards, and found that I am not as bad as I thought. I play the preflop according to SHC, nearly always. I have been playing 3 tables, but maybe too many. Not enough time to consider for long, and too many reactive bets. I found that by playing only 2 tables, I have time to review history of either instantly if necessary, and check the integrity of the plays straight away. This helps especially when you can see what the losing player mucked, even when you aren't in a hand. Most people play crap most of the time. This is a confidence boost. After a recent bad session, 40BB lost, and after more than 3500 hands in all, my bankroll had gone from $50 to $50.17, after having once been as high as 64.95, and previously as low as 44.71. Still, I did advance to the second level, and am working there. My goal is to reach the next level, then the next one, etc. Infinity, and beyond.

Yea you got it, don't play to many tables at the beginning. Try to get used to the SHC so that after a while you don't have to take a look at it.
If you can you should now start to post some hands. I added a thread How to post a sample hand in the forum about posting sample hands.
Also another step you should take sooner or later, is visiting the puplic coachings.

A great idea to set up some goals in my oppinion.. Currently i have a few goals myself - so i will just list them in the order i want to accomplish them:
-Beat 0.15/0.30 (done in a day or two at the speed im keeping atm :))
-Beat 0.25/0.50
-Get silverstatus in here
-Get the last 100$ from the sign-up bonus (since i dont know how much harder it will be here, i cant know how long im gonna stay there)
-Beat 0.5/1
-Get goldstatus and poker-Tracker/Ace
-Constantly increasing my bankroll and my skills while completing all the other
-Really long term goal (will only consider them when im done with school in 7 months): Platiniumstatus in here, goldstatus on party, going on my way to the lifetime awards in here..
The only question is how far up the list i'll get but "aim high" is my favorite line

long time since someone posted here - but i can tell how i'm doing on the list i made some weeks ago:

It's €70 and it's full of pros that make $50k per month
Just stick to 1/2 goal (been there, don't want to go back very soon :), freezout tournament that is)
Hello everybody
I'm 19 years old i play poker for a year. I always played with my friends. We made tourneys every weeks. And i was the winner at 90% of the tourneys. So i wanted to try online poker with real money.
My goal at online poker is to win enough money to play continiously at poker and to pay my student charges.
I'm new at online poker. And i think when you play at online poker with real money it's much more different than with real players in front of you.
I reached today my 100 partypoints ♦ and i will be soon a silver member 
My goals were from the day that i started to play poker to try to get to a world poker tourney like WSPO, WPT ... with only the money that i win at poker. And my second goal will be to do a final table at one of these tourneys.
I now these goals are enourmous but i will reach them some day .

Hi everybody,
here's a little update from me. My goal for this year was to beat NL50 and I'm on my way. At the moment I'm playing NL25 and my BR increased to about 800 $ right now.
So maybe I won't be able to reach my goal until the end of the year, but that doesn't bother me that much cause I'll have lots of time in february and march when I've finished my exams to reach this goal.
That is good news.
I am always happy when someone is really making a progress like that, showing me that we must at least do something right
So keep on learning! One of the problems, that most players won't become successful poker players, is that after they had some success they stop learning and practicing because they think they know it all.

Goal? Hm, that's a hard one.
I am not making goals for short term. Everytime I did that (like I wanted to make 20% profit of a buy-inwithin 30 minutes), it worked the opposite way (read: sit-out with $0 ♦).
For the long term I seem to be progressing now.
- Getting the 5000 raked hands for the $100, I hope to be done with that tomorrow :).
- Playing NL25 sixhanded succesfully like before (cashed all out for my summer vacation to Thailand :baby:).
- Keep having fun while playing poker!

I have 2 goals:
1: To make enough money from Poker to make life at least comfortable
2: To be good enough at poker to be invited to play tournaments around the world (I know this is a long term goal lol)
