GL in 2010 guys!

I had to put this on for the record. I just lost 25 BI in a single day. Today was no doubt the scariest day EVER, you have no idea how things were running. Note: The tables WERE very fishy.
I played 3 sessions of 2k hands each.
1st session - "Hmm, rough start for the year.."
2nd session - "Are you serious?"
3rd session - "Please, make it stop!!" (on my knees with arms stretched upwards)
Still I'm proud I made the 6 k hands, I was about to shut the computer down a few times and jump out of my window.
I'm almost feeling embarassed posting these losing graphics again and again, but really, I'm trying real hard here. SHITBALLSDAMN! oops, sorry it slipped ♦
Damn, and I thought I was the undisputed champion of running under EV... Good luck recovering, hopefully you'll look back at this some day and laugh.

The undisputed champion is surely my brother ♦.
Today as I woke up I was still feeling a bit shaken by yesterday's losses. I took my breakfast calmly, stretched and exercised a bit and then sat down to review yesterday's sessions. It was mainly a horrible series of unlucky flops and turns - giving my opponents monter hands -, running into the top of the top of opponents ranges yet again and losing too many coinflips. Actual suckouts only happened a few times.
I actually feel I played very decently, though I found myself into an awful lot of tough spots.
Confidence renewed, I'm ready to start over.
"If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'"

Two very important lines from another part of this:
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same.

Hey, what's up guys!
It's been a long time since I posted here, so I decided to make a quick update. The year started with me taking a few days off poker. Now I'm back already, but I've only played 6k hands this month till now.
I got a $4k bonus and I'm cashing it out, so that I can support myself for the next few months
I'll be able to support myself for 3 months, travel a bit AND save some of it still
So it should be pretty nice.
My game deteriorated a lot during the last months of december, due to the downswing and due to putting in too much volume. So I was responsible for some of the money I lost. I'm trying to get back on track however, because I was losing motivation. My game was bad and I didn't feel like playing. However, after watching a couple of videos, I got my motivation back up and today I played a great session! I lost 2BI, but I feel like I played better than I have played in a loooooong time. So it's all good
I tried recording a video for TT's series, but the video didn't work. I'll do it again tomorrow and then I'll probably buy a package of classes with him, because I could certainly use a hand to get out of this hole I'm in
I know I'll get out of it though. I want to crush this game and I WILL ♠_cool:
Cheers!
What's up guys? Been longer than usual since the last post
Maybe you started running better so theres no need to post anymore?

I wish!! More than 50% my BR is gone and I guess I just ran out of funny things to say about it. It's temporary though, I'll be back. Working on it!

Hey guys! Since the last 100 posts or so in this blog have started with: "Things haven't turned around yet" or "OMG, I don't run any better", I decided it was time for a change. So:
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
That's my graph since the 1st of november. I got out of the hole! Horaaaaay! Not officially out actually, because I'm still down $120 or so (I made a stupid bluff attempt in the last few hands I played for 150bb or so
But hey, at least I'm trying!)
I don't wanna play more than 6 tables for the time being and therefore I'm setting my goal for 50k hands/month for the next 3 months probably. I'm a little behind this month, because I took a bit of a break in the beginning, so I'm at 20k only. I'll make an effort to catch up however.
A few posts ago, I said I'd make a long post about something. Well, here it is: A few words on Downswings
I hope it's of use to the community somehow.
So, now I just wanna keep learning and just crush this game! Some coachings with TwiceT shall be booked soon and I still owe him a video. I'm ashamed that I haven't recorded it yet. I did try a couple of times, but I got owned by recording programs so hard and the one time it worked, the video ended up with 2GB, lolz ♦ Good news: I learnt how to make it at about 1.5MB/min! Great succes I say! So, I'm now officially making a commitment with myself: I'll have that video recorded by Wednesday! So, get ready TT!
Alright guys, I'm off now, as my hands hurt from writing so much for that downswing post.
See ya!
im rdy for your vid sir
(btw. fongie's review and partII should be out rly soon actually, i uploaded it 2 weeks ago or so ... then its your turn!)
good to see u have recovered and you are still improving your mindset. i also read your post, definitely true what u wrote. the difficult thing though is not only realising all that but also implementing it.
im sure your last 170k hands made u way stronger as a poker player. just keep on working on your game and im sure u will be fine.
ofc, if u feel u wanna book a coaching, im always available for u.
Hey guys,
I see that you are looking to move to somewhere else. May I ask if you have any considerations to move to Sao Paulo.
I'm thinking of renting an apartment in Sao Paulo, the price is about R$800, dont know if this is much, and then go PRO like you guys
Can you give me some insighths on your monthly expensives? I dont know if my bankroll is enough for going pro
Hey Alverine!
Yeah, we're looking for that indeed. We don't really consider São Paulo, because we want to be in a quieter place and if we decided to go to a big city, we'd just go to Buenos Aires, because it's just a lot cheaper. We're seriously considering Gramado/RS.
About the rent. I find that pretty expensive for general standards. But I guess that's standard for Capitals. Here in Brasília, we pay R$500 for a 25m flat. (we got the best deal in our building. The flats here are around R$700)
But in a city such as Gramado, we can get a 2 bedroom flat for something like R$500 and there are even houses for R$350-R$400 ♦
What limit are you playing atm?
Im playing mtt's sng, up to 180Man, up to $16 bi (and afraid to moving up
)
I currently have a $3k roll (little bit less), thinking of moving in march. But i still will not quit college. I will just move to a place near my uni to have less time at trafic and more playing/spair time
Those rents are really, really cheap. Here you cant get anything for that price, only at suburbs i think.
Are you putting in the equation the taxes problem to decide where you guys will stay? Taxes at Brazil seems quite high, and if you want to buy a car or a house you gotta pay taxes. I dont know about renting a house if this is necessary.
