Is this flop call ok? I can't see villian having an A here too often but I'd like to hear some other opinions.

Hi,

I can see the bet by the bb as a "Stop & Go" to steal, perticularly with the scare card A. I could also see the bet being a weak A, any 2 :spade:s, any pair 77+, a set, or an OESD.

I think the call is close and reads would help as without them it is difficult to narrow down villans range.

It leaves you with only 200 chips and in push or fold mode early on if you lose or 2nd in chips if you win.

Without a read I think I fold. I may be playing too tight and I rarely play S&Gs. In a tourney I would sometimes call thinking "NUTS", mostly I would probably curse my tight play and fold, but that is my 2c worth.

Prefer a fold but then again I'm a big pussy

Well, the push doesn't make any sense, really. Unlike you I do see him on an A sometimes, but I am just too curious + he could have a draw. Readless I would usually call.

his push for 2x pot doesnt make sense, so i would probably call and fade the spade

He most likely has a weak Ace, or the FD, Maybe some kind of combo straight draw.

He never has the A :spade: here, but with even one overcard to your J with the spade draw, he is winning close to 50%.

Calling is probably ok, but high variance. Given that he sometimes has the Ace anyway, a fold can't be bad. He does look like the table fish though.

given that somebody did exactly the same thing to me just now - pushing 900 into a pot of 300 with a weak ace, I guess I'd fold.

No. Wait. If I'm honest, I'd call out of curiosity. And hate myself. And villain even more so for calling with his weak, crappy Ace and hitting.

Thats why I call them so often and to be honst I see an A here in about 50% of the time(from bad players obv) don't ask me why they do it.

So as I said, call as well, but I have a horrible feeling here.
