Either he has a big pair and has you beat or he has overcards and youre ahead. That is what you need to find out as quickly as possible. He is very passive, so i guess you could bet or checkraise the flop, because he wouldnt raise or 3bet with only overcards.
I would like the c/c all the way line much more if your pair was higher, like JJ. But here there are just too many overcards that could hit on the turn that you have to worry about. I think this line is too weak in this spot.
What do you think about that?
i c/r flop got a 3-bet and folded
i thought about it for a little while and thought that i really am not ahead against a lot of his range (AK, AQ probably, maybe AJ) so, the c/r would not be for value, and if he raises me on the turn, i put in 2bb as well but don't see a sd and he could possibly raise the turn 4 free sd?
advantage of c/r is that i gain initiative and can valuebet vs AK/AQ; thus, i think, if i can make a good laydown vs action anywhere c/r > cd, but villain here was relatively unknown 50 hands i think
to me this c/r flop, fold to 3bet seems to be easily exploitable. if not for the whole pot, then for a free card on the turn. in this case villain is very very passive, so this line makes more sense to me. but what about a tag?
because he is so passive i also like the aggressive way here more, i dont think he raises without having you beat. So this villain is perfect to find out where we stand + make his overcards expensive.
Against a Tag i would tend to c/c and watch out which cards come on Turn and River and make there a decision, i dont want to get bluffed out of this big Pot when having the best Hand.
