[Closed] Kojika plays Omaha

A little bit about poker now :

I played yesterday and won $100 but I played rubbish : Went all in with a wrap against a big fish 200BBs deep vs his bottom set. That hand made me tilt a little bit but I recovered my losses by winning a monster pot, I'll post the hand when I'm back home (I'm at the university at the moment) but I had a big wrap+K high flush draw vs top set vs Aces. I had 50% equity and hit my flush for a ~500BBs pot ♠_biggrin:

Also, my university holds a poker tournament today. The buy in is 5€ but there is no real prizepool, only poker's stuffs to win (otherwise it would be illegal). I know the biggest calling stations/fish are going to take part to this event and hopefully I'll win that one ♠_grin:

This tournament was a real joke :

- Rubbish cards/chips
- Normal tables
- 62BB to start and it doubles every time the "tournament's director" wanted (sometimes 40 mins, sometimes ~10)
- Biggest calling stations ever

Actually, there were only 2 other players that knew how to play poker there (both playing micro limits sit'n go on Full Tilt).

I won 2 flips, AKvs64o and finished 2nd. The winner was a big fish (limped with the BTN in heads up when I had ~4-5 Big blinds). The 2 other guys finished 3rd and 4th.

I won some soda's (lol) and a bottle of alcohol which is still nice (even though it was a ~35 players Mtt). Actually, it was even nicer because I met other people, ....

One guy made me laugh a lot when he said "Haha, 42o... My favourite hand.. I won my biggest pot with it vs AA !" "How big was the pot ?" "20 € ♠_cool: " ♠_love:

I played omaha yesterday evening and lost 40$... ♠_cry:

But seriously, stop beeing so result orientated! 40$ down should be normal when playing PL050? ♦ As long as you made the right decisions you should be happeeeeeh

I finally played a real session today (I mean, more than 10 mins) and it went pretty well I sucked out on a regular and won a coin flip for 100BBs both time, which is always fun

I've tried a little bit of Plo 100 and lost $150. I've played some hands really badly but at least I'll try not to do in the future

Tomorrow is the French Diamond Party in Brussels, there will be a live tournament (with ~20 people)... I hope I'll win that one ♠_biggrin:

The luck part was about winning a tourney with 5300 entrants... you need a bit more luck for that ♦

Saturday was the VIP diamond party in Brussels (the french community only). We were ~20 people and it was amazing !

We started by a MTT where I busted with my 62o vs K3o (I had 9Bbs and i was first in, small blind). The field was really really tough and I really think I was the worst player of the tournament

Few hours later, we went to the Atomium and ate in its restaurant. It was delicious and we had fun talking to each other, ...

After that, (special for TwiceT ♠_grin: ) we went to a club in Brussels and got lots of alcohol (vodka redbull, jack daniels, ..). Some of us were completely pissed but I wasn't drunk that much.

I'm looking forward to having this again, it was wonderful ♠_love:

By the way, I won't go to Munich because I've got some lessons that I can't miss...

This evening, I hope to grind like TwiceT does, otherwise I'll watch the suitedeule's videos.

EDIT : I just forgot something : In ~1week, I'll leave Pacific Poker ( ) to Titan Poker... But I'm still not sure about it. Any of you has already tried iPoker for Omaha ?

Hi Kojika (or should I stay salut ?)

I really discourage you to play on iPoker. The rake is generally higher than on other sites. So you'll have to play a lot to reach a nice rakeback level. Otherwise, iPoker is pointless. Softwares are outdated, servers disconnect, lobbies sucks...

Stars, FTP and Party are THE rooms to play imo. For omaha, as far I've played (not much then), Stars and FTP are the best rooms.

Also, If you can put enough volume to achieve nice rakeback on iPoker, I suggest you just do the same on Stars. Once on supernova, you'll play with high rakeback offer, with the lowest rake. Not to mention that Stars software, support, policies are just amazing compared to iPoker.

If you cannot put volume, then FTP would be my choice for the same reasons.

I can put a nice volume to get high rakeback on Titan but I'm not sure about Pokerstars. First of all, you need to play quite a lot to be supernova and then much more to get the milestones. I'd be able to do that this year but there is one big problem : The law in Belgium about poker.... and I don't want to play on a "Pokerstars.be", without FPPs, ... (like in Italy for instance).

I might (re)try Full Tilt but the level is much higher than on the other rooms (even though I think I'm better than most of the players there).

Bleh, this is hard to choose where to move ♠_frown: At least, I've got few days to think about it.

About Poker yesterday :

I watched a nice video of Plo 100 and BOOM ! 7 months ago, I was a massive fish. A bit later, i was good enough to beat the micro limits. Few weeks ago, I knew how to play in most spots (Danke TwiceT ♠_biggrin: ) and now, it's just sick.
The video's shown me exactly the spots where I was'nt sure about my play and that I hadn't seen with my Schatzie. Now, I feel like I'm crushing them so hard.
I played Plo 50 to try it and won $100, which is not that good for 500 hands... But I lost two big pots : one flip, one 65%. My Ev all in says I should have won ~250$.

This is it, I'm almost ready to crush the Plo 5k

Also : I'm not playing a lot of tables at the same time (4-5) so I don't need a big traffic. Is ladbrokes good for me ? Or maybe another "unknown" room ?
Is it better for me to change my $ into € now or should I wait a little bit more ?

Waaw, it’s been such a long time since I haven’t updated my blog… I guess it’s time to do it

I’ve finally cleared my $300 first deposit bonus on Pacific Poker and got $120 rakeback. I’m pretty happy with my results/stats, even though I haven’t played a lot and played a lot of heads up (which messes up my stats a little bit).
I got a “goodbye bad beat” for my last hand on this crappy room, I had 80% when we went all in on the turn and he turned his two pairs into a full house. But well, I’ve had a nice winrate there and became diamond.

I also forgot to mention that I played Plo100 for my “last days” on Pacific Poker, won a bit but played such a little sample size ♦
I’m still waiting for $75 from the “Pacific Poker marathon” (because I’ve had 10 days with more than 200 Strategy Points).

With about 70 Buy ins, I decided to move to Mansion Poker and play Plo 100. I like the room, … but I hate the cards that have been given to me so far Results are horrible but, as always, super tiny sample size, meaning nothing. BUT STILL, The Plo100 doesn’t want me

Unfortunately, hands on mansion poker are hard to convert… If anyone knows how to do it, please tell me (by PM).
