thanks xarry, i will continue reading all your coaching ( i am un page 6 right now), and will ask you if i have any question, but i understand your point, basically i have to put the villians on a range and play my hands based on that.
Great coachings btw
well, PFR is actually not giving us the information we need. openraise is what we want to know, since PFR is a combination of 3bet and openraise there are often big differences between PFR and openraise.
are u sure xarry? i understand that pfr= or with limpers
OR= raise first in HM
3bet= re raise a previous raise
hi huys!
you're right gugapt that we don't see the actual raising range versus limpers. but imo its a fault to assume that the PFR gives us a more precise image of this than the openraise. The reason being that especially players with a low 3bet% will look much tighter than they really are - even against limpers.
My experience is that most players don't tighten up their raising range much against most limpers.
The solution is observation: does the limper look weak or fishy? => then most bigstacks raise him almost as aggressive as if they were first to act. They want to isolate him and have good chances to do this profitably with a big range since they are in position.
However, if the limper is tight and passive but has no major postflop leaks or limp/raises often (especially in EP) many thinking players will tighten up.
Therfore you can evaluate the actual strenght of a raise versus limpers with the openraise% and modify it together with limpers stats and reads.

xarry
wow i didn`t know that, i always made my 3bets looking the pfr as the actual open raise with limpers, but generally the opern raise and the pfr are almost the same i think
xarry, what do u think about cbet sizes? I have reading your coaching up to page 6, and there u do and analisis about your cbet size.
Do u change your cbet size mostly based on the AF of your villain and the SD value of your hand? Can u give me a some standard examples of this? Is it an important factor to be a wining ss player?
also, what do u think about river bets? i think i read that skalansky or a poker theoric said in a book that betting pot is the best line, but nowadays i think it is not.
As i see is some of your reviews, in the river with hands with SD vaule you dont push all in, to make weak hands to call.
thanks
hi pablo!
if you take the openraise you're mostly more accurate.
concerning your question about bettingsizes I first have to emphasize that there is no "optimal" betsize. in the end everything depends on the situation - and there are many many different situations...
nevertheless I would as SS mostly bet ~1/2 Pot on dry boards. on wet boards and against more opponents I tend to cbet 2/3 to 3/4 pot. take a look at the fold to flop cbet stat and at the WTS. those stats give you a good overview about your opponents tendencies. against fish I mostly cbet big, against regs (especially tighter ones) I mostly cbet 1/2P since they will continue almost the same hands no matter wether I bet 2/3P or 1/2P - but you can save money.
the riverbetsize depends on your opponents riverrange and callingfrequency. the looser your opponent is the more you can bet, but often thin valuebets on the river can't be potsize sine not many worse hands would actually call such a big bet.
I just recommend to continue reading the posts here. There are many examples about cbetting spots. Furthermore its vital that you ask yourself: what is my opponents range and how can I get the maximum value out of it.

xarry
Hey everybody!
tonight I'll again give a SSS => BSS coaching on Partypoker. The next two weeks I'll be unavailable for coaching. I'll let you know how we're going to continue the coaching then.
Best regards,
xarry
Hi guys..
Raise 1st: openraise WITHOUT limpers. (Same value as Steal % from any position, including UTG ♦)
PFR: openraise WITH limpers (includes 3bet).
In conclusion:
OR < PFR < 3BET
Regards.
as you said, it will be i f i understand OR<PFR, 3bet<PFR... i dont see the relation between 3bet and OR... for example, in sb, the 3bet will be less than the OR i think...
jaja bien ahi guido viniendo a donde se enseña sss
xarry, u are not doing any more sss coachings? the sss is dead?
hey everybody!
tonight I'll again do a SSS -> BSS coaching for all of you who want to give BSS a try.
i'll probably continue to do this type of coaching the next weeks. afterwards I plan to finish my SSS coaching sessions due to lack of time.
thus, if you want to join my last coachings here then don't miss the one tonight! ![]()

xarry
Hey Xarry, do you know Pokerstars NL100 SSS Player "Berbisch81" ? He is german and is the best in the level by far winning 4bb/100 in over 400k hands. Is he from this community? I would like to make an analysis of his game together with a coach, unfortunately our main coach in the spanish community has problems and wont be available for some weeks for sure. If you agree I can posts some stats of him as well as some hand samples to discuss together.
Best regards.
Enzo.
@guidosuller:
yeah, just post them here and we can have a discussion about him. I won't be here every day but I'll take a look at this thread once in a while!
@lincristian:
bye bye!
Hi. Dont have many hands of him, but its a sample at least. He lets his stack drop to 13bb.
We might analize:
1. Preflop
Blinds game (clue). Often steals 2bb.
2. Postflop
Checkraises.
Unfortunately as the sample is not that big I cannot offer to many hands of him making every move.

Everyone is invited to discuss this obv.
sorry for beeing late again ![]()
he steals quite aggro in the SB. I suppose you can fight back with small resteals or calls (if he steals small). on the BU he also steals much.
on the other hand you should steal small against him since he does not defend with calls often. he also defends a lot with 3bets, thus observe which hands he shows. 20% are usually not only value hands ![]()
imo there is also a little chance getting him off a hand when hes cbetting the flop once in a while. 45% fold cb to raise is a bit increased...
any other thoughts from you guys??
