Any ideas about how to handle this spot?

I won the seat in an FPP satellite, so I was really happy just to finish itm (flush vs flush and I was gone)!

3bet this preflop for value + to pickup deadmoney.

flop ok, turn ok, river easy fold, you cant beat anything there, only a bluff.

+1

If hes a good player, easy fold river. If hes a donk, easy call

well played

i go for 3bet squeeze preflop too, MP3 open range should be wide enough that ur ahead vs that range moust od the time and BTN cold calling range might be seting a trap for u or SB to squeeze or he is just trying to see cheap flop with his weak hand

so ur play depends of ur image and table dinamic if there is a lot of 3beting squeezing going on on ur table and ur 3 beting a lot he might be seting a trap for u but if ur tight ur 3bet will be respected and BTN will not setting traps a lot of the time so 3bet imo is best play in that spot

about ur line on flop/turn/river i think that river spot sucks
i do not agree that if he is good player is easy fold on river if he is a donk is easy call
i think is not that simple
look at the bet sizes is that turn bet looks like 2pair/set ?
he is giving u great odds to call for a flush draw, imo if u hit flush on river he will call a 2/5 pot bet on river if he have set or 2 pairs so why is he giving to u so good odds?? does his bet mean that he have weaker hand then set or 2 pairs?
i dont think that he is taking that line on flop with set there, the board is dry only a flush draw, so i dont think that he will raise set there on flop.
on turn is tricky u got to call... but his betting size is weird u cold call preflop, cold call on flop so what is he puting u on?? set?? flush draw?? medium pocket??
set is not folding any way, 88-JJ are prob.folding on that turn... but flush draw will call, Ahi flush draw or JQ JT, so why betting that small on turn and giving u great pot odds + implied odds?
so imo his range looks to me like this most of the time JJ QQ KsJs, KsTs, maybe AK and imo weird played 55 33 KK AA

so when i call that turn bet i'll call that river bet too if i dont have any strong reads on that player (couse imo good player will know that u dont have set, flush dint came, so mine Q. is from which hand he is trying to get value?? u might fold KQ if hi 3 barells, maybe even As6s As8s etc.. so i dont think that good player only value bets on that river ( the key Q imo is does he thinks that u think that he is good player and does he think that ur good player too so he can bluff u on river)

that turn bet looks very weird to me with those stack sizes, and that board texture and actio before :f_confused:...

btw what did he had???

I had been moved to the table two hands before, so I didn't have anything on the players.

I felt the betsize was really weird too, on the river, and that I had to call as I could beat busted flushdraw.

He had bottom set. 33. A 3-bet preflop would have been much much better!

Thanks for your comments. I thought that river was a really tough spot, so I posted it, and got great feedback.

And the story had a happy ending, as I made lots of hands and got comfortably into the money before butting heads with another bigstack in a flush vs flush.

Anyhow, $350 and big tournament experience is a great deal for 1500 fpp!

preflop 3betting is standard play here against unknown.
your hand is strong enough to do so.
so i make it 7,5k poreflop and see what happens.

flop is tricky. i dont like your call here that much, because its bet/raise so you dont get too good odds for your flushdraw, you are oop in the hand and if you dont hit the turn its pretty ugly.

AND your hand us totally face up. no other hand might take this line. so its pretty easy to put you ond a flushdraw here so your implied odds are not that good.

as played the turn is obviously a good card. if he has a king like KJ KQ you are way ahead now. and if he had a set on the flop you are still way behind with only some flushouts.

on the river he fires a 3rd barrel and so his range is very polarized. he either has a set, or a busted fd. but becaue you got two big spades makes it more realistic he has a set with his 3rd barrel.

fold river

still i dont like the call preflop
and i dont like the call on the flop oop

what if u 3 bet and u got 4bet -> fold or shove?
what if u 3 bet and some1 shove over u -> fold?
if u 3bet it just get called (in 1 or 2 spots) on that flop bet go broke or...??

1) probably fold. i think small % of players will 4bet very loose against your squeeze play oop - it looks strong. we do it because we are ahead vs mp3 openin range and btn coldcalling range, dont want to play 2way with aq and want to pickup deadmoney

2) like in the 1) point - probably fold.

3) yep, if you get called, you are going broke on this flop for sure.
