sorry i dont have proper hand thingy but the hand is short

$5--> 20Kgtd on pokerstars

SB-1000 BB-2000 +ante

i got A10 in MP and raised to 5500

the cuttoff calls and blinds fold

the flop is J103 with 2 hearts

i didnt want to c bet because he would just fold whatever i beat most times

the pot now is 15k

he has 30k left and goes all in

i have no reads on him so i dont know what to think

i was thinking he is likely to have 66-99 because when i check to him he mite think i have overcards and will bluff at it later if he checks back
he might also have 10Q or 10K and doesnt want an ace to hit or something
if he has an overpair or set he doesnt really want to kill the action unless its queens and an overcard mite hit on turn or river

+ AT (suits)?????

i'll Cbet in this spot 90%++ of time depends or ur stack size if i have like 2xpot size i just shove on this flop (u cant afford to check fold here imo) also Cbet depends on suits of ur hand did u have Ah, Th did u have backdoor flush and so on but i'm c beting on this flop very very often

no i didnt have a heart and i thought that since i have second pair there is no point c betting cuz all worse hands will fold most of the time
and he would have 3.5 times my bet which would be perfect for a reshove
then it would look stronger so he could do this with a lot of hands including bluffs and hands that have me beat but if i check then my hand looks weak

I dont think you can check here unless you have aready decided that you are calling a shove.
In any event why give a free card?
I just bet out and call shove over or alternately, shove directly on flop.
Tbh at these blind levels I am happy to take the 15K pot right there on the flop, no need to worry about taking his entire stack.

pot 15k
his stack 30k
my stack 80k
average stack 45k

i thought i will check because even if i give a free card...it will often not affect who is ahead but it will make him stack off much easier because the 15k in the middle matters a lot to him but when i saw him shove all in kinda fast i was thinking maybe i should fold here

when he shove fast ~2x pot i'm even more for a call

any way this is standard spot for a standard play
Cbet 2/3pot on flop 9-10k and see what happens (if he shoves i'll go for a call most of the time (he can shove there flush draw, str8 draw ex. Axhh, K9h, KQ, 98, KT, QT, 99, etc...hands that u beat) if he is tight (his range will be prety much KQ, flushdraw, set, over pair, JQ+) i'll fold)

This is definitely a cbet for me. Even if he folds. In Tourneys you dont want big volatility, so I'd just try to collect the pot (which is like 15%+ of your stack so you should be pretty satisfied with it with a second pair, on my opinion at least).

sorry for my late reply.

this is true, i do the same.

im still not sure what the right thing to do is...
with a c bet you take out all the hands you beat and hands that have you beat will get doubled up through me...hard to say

anyway in that case i decided to call and he had AK
weird play by him...was expecting AQ or 99
he could have easily reshoved and get some nice chips or double up...

i dont like giving a freecard here :(
the board is so drawheavy that there will be so many turns that you dont like.
and right here your hand rtates to be best with second pair top kicker.
so why do you check ?
the turn will be dangerous.
a heart is bad a 9 is bad an 8 is bad a K Q is bad.... sooo many card so bet around 2/3 of the pot
if he shoves then i think you should fold.
