If today is 0 degrees and tomorrow is twice as cold, what will be the temperature tomorrow?
Thing about the coin is that most ppl go for the hardest way, which is using all 3 coins, so they usually need 2 tries.
Depends on what kind of degrees you are talking about. If it is °C the answer would be 273°C, which is just double the absolute temperature measured in Kelvin.

Sum all ages. If you were a postman, you knew the house # and could give answer right away.You can not give answer only in one case, when sum of ages are equals:9 +2 + 2 = 13
6 +6 +1 = 13because postman is missing information, house number is 13.
Professor gives hint which eliminates 6 6 1 (eldest daughter is only one)

So this is the solution to the postman riddle. He obviously knows the house number. When he says that he still needs more info he says to us that the house number has more than one possible combination. The only combination of numbers that adds to the same number is 9,2,2 and 6,6,1 which sums to 13. The moment he gets to know that one daughter is older then the other two he knows the right answer.
