Yes but you are generalizing it into tight shortstackers playing each other. That's definitly not the case.
Otherwise you have to enlighten me since I then do not know what you are talking about
I'm shortstacking is Pokerstars and shortstacking is now more profitable than it used to be. Slightly more VPP-s per hand, more fish, less 100bb 24-tabling nitregs.
Last year I ran -250BI under EV over 1M hands, so get used to it.
Played a monstersession last Saturday, here are the results:
Around 9,5k hands NL200, 2k NL400, 1,5k NL100
But made around 7500 VPP-s in less than 10 hours.

How do you guys play SSS anymore with the new Buy-In regulations?
So its still effective even when everyone else is short?
Gerv you are putting words in my mouth which I never said. When did I ever mention the words tight? If you translate the word short to tight then thats your own linguistic problem :P.
What I meant...no scrap that, what I SAID was how can you play SSS against other shortstackers when the fundamentals of SSS according to the PS strategy articles clearly states in the first sentance of the first article:
Please note I am not a short stacker, nor do I standy by the above strategy and think its the only way to play SSS because evidently it isnt. This is why I am asking for my own curiosity?????
You have to be better than your opponents ldo. 9 professional SS-ers do not have an edge against each other, but few fish at the table makes it profitable. And a lot of SS-ers in NL100 have leaks, you just have to find and exploit them. For example, I use 4 different bet sizes for PFR, depending on the situation, and they doesn't always mean the same hand range. And I play a lot with 50bb stack, to get the max out from "full stack" fish and not losing anything extra to shorties, as most of them still hit'n'run as soon as they double up.
Well I dont really mind if people have 20bb, 100bb, 1000bb, 1millionbb next to me since I only can win 20bb
We have/had fundamental edge on BSS players since they have to cope with both their own effective stack and 20% of that
Nevertheless our skill edge is still huge against 95%

Playing some NL10 50bb and it's going fine at the moment but the VPPs don't really add up for my goal !

not trying to insult you but the only edge of s shortstacker against a good 100bb player is only his fundamental edge of buying in for 20bbs
no you are only provocating, a good fullstacking player can even have an equilibrium range wrong because we are continuously focusing on squeezes, 3betshoves whereas you are focusing on other things like levelling, F/T/R etc.
I am starting back 6 max SSS at NL25, i think the aggression change i made the last 35k hands was bad even if the EV was still climbing up at the time, i losed almost all my money. i was back with a starting stack of 100$, i am now at 110$ and 1.5k FPPS (have some around 100$ on full tilt that i will withdraw to put on stars)
I am at 36.9K VPP i have learned alot from that experience, i will for the future play on a 100BI (20bb BI's) bankroll. variance is so important that i think it's a the best way to be secure as i will do this full time (40 hours week) starting today. i have in the last 2 weeks (after downswing) played sngs, and fullstack poker but i think that this is really MY +EV way to play poker. i will go for 300K VPPs instead of the starting goal of 200K , i love how people react on this blog opposed to other forum where they all bash because of shortstacking. i will update daily on my progress
we bash shortstacking here as well. u just sound like a nice guy who is in the beginning of his poker career and that is why we dont flame u. gl
haha maybe i would bash u in the old days (before they segregated the shallow tables) but now i dont care
