Phil ivey in both cash and tournaments imo. Dwan probably second in cash. And he could probably be one of the best tournament players too if he continues to play them.

Jimmy Fricke obv.

The problem with Dwan and torneys is he doesn't seem to care.

It's understandable. Why care about a $10k torney when you can profit from cash games online sitting with 40K on each table?

Poker is all about luck. If you haven't worked that one out by now then I would give up. Phil Helmuth has won the most bracelets because he has had the most luck. Some players are just constantly unlucky others lucky.
The pros are pros because they got lucky. One big win and you will get sponsership for life. Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu don't play with their own money but sponserships money. They are no better players than you or me. The word Pro dosen't mean they are better than us it means they have just been fortunate enough to be in a position to play it for a living. Stop looking up to these people as such Gods they are no better at poker than you or your friend !

you saw what happened in The Big Game with those Loose Canons . They played with sponsored money. The first one was the wors player i ever saw, he was very lucky.
I bet that someone gives you 1M to play with the pros, you will get raped, same with me

The Big game proved that poker is all about luck. I quite agree the first player was awful but got lucky on one hand and managed to show a good profit. The best player who played second lost all his chips and the girl who was reasonable got lucky too. Give me 100,000 dollars against the pros ( people that do it for a living but are no better than you or me ) and who knows. If I get lucky I win if not I lose. Luck m8 thats all it is.

I belive there is no best player on the world, only good hands and right time to play.

Donmecon, poker is about luck, but also there is still skill involved in it, like being able to represent a hand you dont actually have or pushing a guy off a hand who has a hand better then you, so yes you need luck but also skill to be a good poker player, that is the difference between the pros and us, they are good with these various skills.

I also beleive that Phil Ivey is one of the best players in the world.

Really a discussion about skill vs luck? Yes short term luck is all you need to win. I could crush Phil Ivey if i just got the right cards. But long term, it'd be extremely -EV to play against him. (Unless you do it to improve your own game or actualy have an edge on him which can't be that big anyway).

Shorterm its all luck. Longterm is where the good players make money and the bad players will always lose.

The big game or any other tv poker program says absolutely nothing. it's 150 hands total.. 150 hands.. is absolutely nothing. Online that's only a couple of minutes playing poker when multi tabling. I sure hope you don't check on your bankroll every 150 hands or determine how good you are on a sample of 150 hands. The only thing the Big Games proves is something you should already know. That whoever walks away with a profit there it's very likely to be 90%+ luck.

Totally agree with u Hahaowned
