Just take 30-40BI from your BR and play until you lose it all. I hope that you don't lose it _cool:.
It's imho better, than trying shots for 5-10BI. You don't need go back after small downswing. As you know, 10BI swing is normal variance in 50 games.

I hear you, sensible words Akwed. I've got some bankroll rebuild to do, working on it and next time I'll play with no fear - and for 30-40BI's. Glad to see you're beating those stakes now, all the best to you.

Lol, I probably find that the most difficult at the moment ! I play in a jazz trio so I'm kind of expected to solo, I get the nod from the guitarist and freeze up. Parenting hasn't become difficult yet, just patience which I can handle... ask me again in 10 years ;) Life - I've epicly failed in so many aspects but the last 2 years I think I've got the hang of it.

Day 9
Games: 99 (D'you wunna flake in that ?)
ROI: 9.8% (EV 6.8%)
Time: 1.9Hours

Did a fairly long review before tonights games. Probably spent a little too long gazing at charts and ranges but I identified 2 pretty hefty spots that I'm misunderstanding and spewing equity. So the night started pretty rough, was 9BI's under after 30 games and thought it was gonna be my 4th straight day in the red but things turned around.

Played over 2700 of the buggers now and feeling pretty good about the money I can make here. Since I've upped the tables I'm managing around $15/hr when you include rakeback, a little short of what I thought but then I've not been running fantastically. That aint bad in my book for low stakes poker and the days where I win feel so satisfying that I'm not feeling as bad when I'm losing 30+BI's. More to come...

Day 10
Games: 96
ROI: 14.1% (EV 7.1%)
Time: 1.9Hours

Schweet night. Leaves me with 75BI's for $10.50, though I think I'll leave it this time and soldier on until Friday, get my rakeback and see where we stand.

EDIT
I played my whole session last night in 6 sets of 16 instead of 8/9/10 continuous. Had a think this morning about playing a mix of games dictated by my BR.

$Bankroll - Mix of games
$662.50 - 16x5.3
$703.13 - 15x5.3 1x10.5
$743.75 - 14x5.3 2x10.5
$784.38 - 13x5.3 3x10.5
$825.00 - etc.

So @ ~75BI's for $10.5 I can mix in 3 $10.5 with 13 $5.30. This is designed so that I'm officially stepping up and down at 125BI's for the next level, $1312.50 being 125 for $10.5 so I'd play 16 $10.5's at this point. If the bankroll drops below 703.13 then I'd drop back to 16 $5.30's. To me, given that I should be employing roughly the same strategy at each level, this is the most dynamic way of managing my bankroll and stakes. If it works out then I would play sets of 16 $10.5's until my BR is 150BI's for them. Then I would start the same process again using a 150BI rule for mixes of $10.5 and $20.9

Hello to you, there's a few ppl dropped by from Derbyshire =)

So the BR management that I'm banging on about would look like this...

$Bankroll - Mix of games
_$662.50 - 16x5.3
_$703.13 - 15x5.3 1x10.5
_$743.75 - 14x5.3 2x10.5
_$784.38 - 13x5.3 3x10.5
_$825.00 - 12x5.3 4x10.5
_$987.50 - 8x5.3 8x10.5
$1150.00 - 4x5.3 12x10.5
$1312.50 - 16x10.5
Play solely $10.50's at this point
$1672.50 - 15x10.5 1x20.9
$1770.00 - 14x10.5 2x20.9
$1867.50 - 13x10.5 2x20.9
$1965.00 - etc.

I'm one for trying new ideas and I obviously don't have the constitution to just fire up 8/9/10 games at double my usual stakes so this may be the best way to ease me into it. I'll give it a trial for a few hundred games, wish me luck !

Day 11 was my first full day with no online poker this month. Played in my home game for a couple of hours then got an early night because we're off to Chester Zoo today for my daughters birthday. Should be fun !

LOL I ran good at $10.5 !!

Day 12
Games: 96
Avg Buyin: $6.38
ROI: 13.8% (EV 12.4%) [20x$10.5 @ 32.9% !!]
Time: 1.9Hours

I tried my new "dynamic" brm out and it seems to do the trick. I just don't have time in a set of 16 to worry about what stakes it's at and just play my game. So I started with a mix of 13/3, then 12/4, had to drop back to 14/2 but played my last set with 11/5. I'll continue with this mix tomorrow, with rakeback coming I think my BR should finally hit $1k again over the weekend - 4 months after I hit this milestone grinding 9-man Super Turbo's from $50. I learned a pretty harsh lesson then, but no complacency this time around...

I'm pretty tired ! So fucking lame of me. Friday night should really be where I make a killing, there are some real 'tards on tonight but I'm actually falling asleep at my keyboard. So I've done the bare minimum - got my 200FTP's - ran like shit and now I'm off to sleeeeep

Day 14
Games: 80
Avg Buyin: $6.86
ROI: 4.1% (EV 4.2%)
Time: 2.8Hours

Did some 4 tabling $10.50's whilst I was playing the Gold IronMan freeroll - I should have made the money, 180 got paid I came ~210 in a total spaz out BvB. SB made it 3x I tripled his bet with a little extra with AKo in the BB and he shoved for another 7x my bet, I snapped and he showed 55. Didn't improve, shouldve hung around and took my min $50. So I played for a little longer tonight with less tables going on. Didn't do well at $10.5 but made up the damage at $5.3.

Week 2 looks like this...

___________________$5__________________+__________________$10___________________

=

Games: 543
Avg Buyin: $6.06
ROI: 5.4% (EV 8.7%)
IRONMAN: 6 days @ 200FTP
= 12 down 13 to go

After the mayhem of my daughter's 2nd birthday I found myself an extra hour or so to review last night and as I was, I got talking on Skype. So I've decided to take on a student - FWKanobi. We both have jobs, both have kids, both have had problems with BRM discipline (MULTIPLExBUSTO) and I think with these factors we can definately say that we understand one another !

I think that talking through some of his plays can be mutually beneficial and it really reminds me how tough beating 2$ and below ST's was. It's a whole different game where the battle really is deciding on your opponents ranges, a difficult task when most of them seem to be... how shall we say, somewhat challenged ! I had a good laugh doing our first session too so I think this is ++EV for both of us. I'm trying to convince him to blog his results once/week and there'll no doubt need to be a feature - nibbana's pro play of the week where I say "SHOVE"
FW says "um... sngWiz says fold"
nibbana "I disagree, change the ranges"
FW "um... it still says fold"
nibbana "I'm such a fricking donk"

Should be fun, take it easy

EDIT - sorry thought you were not

I will put some more volume and if the results will look good , ill post them in a blog... LOL...
